So I am doing a nightmare run and playing a Templar. I am level 13 at Skyhold and Spell purge + upgrade atm plus some S n S, Vanguard and Battlemaster to Horn of Valor. Should I respec and get Wrath of Heaven immediately. I would basically have to drop the entire Battlemaster tree and grab it late game instead. Cause I cannot give up S n S or Vanguard. Or should I just wait 3 levels for Wrath of Heaven.
Immediately Respec to Wrath of Heaven?

I always completely respec everybody after getting specialization. The skills are far better.

Ya I think you are right. At the end of the Day Mook Bashing with Wrath + Purge is what you are good for. Any other warrior in SP can get horn of valor so that's just icing. It will have to come late game. I just like battlemaster a lot lol.

I'm currently running Cassandra with Iron Bull as a pure two hander (no vanguard skills). The battlemaster skills look awesome on Iron Bull.
I'm not that far in yet though, only level 9, still have to get either the Templars or mages. But it looks promising after having fiddled with the tactics screen.

I respecced my templar, too. Being able to self-trigger a combo is so sweet, could not wait to get it

That's ballsy man. No guard build seems like you have to have super twitch skills. I my friend do not and would probably be terrible at it. Also if you JUST get warcry in the vanguard tree guard is almost useless on Nightmare. Have to get points into trust the steel in order to have mitigation while having guard.

Except that trust the steel is bugged and doesn't even apply to your front armor.

ya you are correct I find that it does help A LOT with rear attacks. I should of specified.

Just Warcry is fine. Warcry + Charging Bull is better. I don't see 0 vanguard as a serious option, but it doesn't need more than 2-4 points invested.

I am starting to realize that. Definitely. Unbowed for a Main tank maybe but it still might be overkill.

Mages have a better conversion rate of mana -> barrier, so they can focus on that. That leaves Cassandra's stamina free to buff the party's damage, deal damage, and apply knockdowns and stuns.

More imporantly getting a weapon and a shield (and/or armor) that builds guard on hit will keep your guard bar full. Beware of fast traveling too much and losing it all the time, though. Use a horse instead. ![]()
