Apart from a pathetic skill tree system put into the game without an actual thought on how it works a combat full of clunky animation and stun lock irresponsive to commands, horrible map designe and so on no nothing bad.

But withcer 2 is a great game, it's the messiah, it's perfect, i'm a troll just for stating the oblivious .

I haven't gotten to the Witcher 2 yet, but I'm skeptical of your assertion that it's gameplay is so trashy, because frankly, I can't see how any game could play much worse than The Witcher 1. Literally anything would be an improvement.

nope. No such problems for me.
I guess if I had to make a criticism it's the QTE's. They could have ditched them.
A way of placing a map marker would have been nice. But not a game breaker. So yeah great game.

You'll be happy to know that QTEs have been ditched for The Witcher 3 then.  :)

So the Dark Soul 2, Divinity Original Sins, Southpark, Shadow of Mordor, Far Cry 4, etc. were more sucked and even didn't deserve a solid 7/10? DAO wasn't even be nominated for the GOTY in 2009. ME2 was unfortunate. And ME3 was beaten by Walking Dead...

It won hundreds of GOTY awards from notable sources such as Gameinformer, VGA's, AP, DICE, and IGN. I wouldn't necessarily call that luck. This must be one of the worst threads a Dev could stumble upon. They worked 3 years on a game only for people to question the AWARDS they recieved. Like, it's cool that you don't think it's GOTY worthy, and by all means, express your everything you need to on the game, but I just can't grasp why this need to question this acclaim exists?

The devs predicted this, because it's the BSN, it's awful, and it never changes.

That's why they listen to legitimate issues, but don't generally engage (as patch five seems to show).

People are stupid and the internet exacerbates this problem.

What can you do?

Here you go.

The 5 stages of grief of a DA:I hater:

  1. Denail: I am afraid there will be no more Dragon Age games because Inquisition was such a failure.  It got 0.2/10 on metacritic and no one bought it.
  2. Anger: Damn you Bioware! You lied to me! The things I saw from pre-alpha footage shot by a non-Bioware employee on their cellphone didn't end up in the final game a year later.  You are history's greatest monster !!11!!one!!!
  3. Bargaining: Ok maybe Inquisition was a financial and critical success.  But it only won eleventy billion "Game of the Year" awards because there was no competition.  If you had released a reproduction of my rose-colored recollection of Dragon Age: Origins, it would no doubt have deserved all the GOTY awards it would have won.
  4. Depression: [gentle wheeping as Taylor Swift songs play in the background]
  5. Acceptance: I have come to realize that, despite the fact that Dragon Age: Inquisition was not designed specifically to apeal to my sensibilities, it is nevertheless a good game that deserves the financial and critical success it has achieved.

I went through these with DA:O. I blamed combat, the protagonist, and the characters, and even the story, but in the end, I accepted that it was this forum that made me hate DA:O with a burning  passion to rival a thousand sons. Did the same with ME2. Which is a shame; I really loved them once.

They screwed themselves out of it by not giving early press releases of the game for review unless the press signed documents promising to positively review the game. Watch Angry Joe's top gaming controversies of 2014.

If that is the case EA had no reason to pay off anyone since their strongest competition knock itself out the game. BTW I had already watch Angry Joe's top game controversies of 2014.

It is a huge improvement over TW1 but still very janky. Some recent eastern ARPGs make it look pretty silly.

not sure what they did for all these years
I liked DA2 a lot more and that game while also having serious flaws came out in not even two years after origins (I think)

devs apparently wasted their time with DA I with those huge worthless areas and fetch quests (
instead of the story and choices which is a damm shame

and now they win all these GOTY awards because many other potential contenders sucked or were delayed so yes I question that especially when their much better games (DA O, ME Trilogy that were classic Bioware games that focused on what Bioware is known for and does best)
never won any major GOTY awards

What message does this send to the devs? screw story and characters and focus on openworld?

Nah, that defeats the purpose. Internet has unfiltered communication, it can be more honest at times.

For all the wrong reasons. There's a reason civil society has taken a plunge in the ethics department.

Good thing the Internet has a host of other amazing qualities to vastly make up for it :)

Would you care to phrase that in a more elaborate and precise/concise way?

Because if you mean what I think you mean, that makes no sense, our morals didn't change due to unfiltered communication, the internet merely unleashed what we were already feeling. And wouldn't say in fear of being punched. Which isn't very civil to begin with.

I believe so. If GTA V and Last of Us came out this year, they would steam rolled all the GOTY again. Hell, ME2 could have destroyed everything this year and that's from 2010.

It's simply way too easy to forget that there are people on the other end in an exchange. The fear of being punched has nothing to do with it. Morality is more about respect not fear. Perhaps that's idealistic in practice, but the Internet completely eliminates a context of respect if not self-enforced.

It's not like people didn't already unleash what they were feeling, but at least it was somewhat restrained. At least, the person who did the unleashing typically was informed on the subject matter. People nowadays are very likely to start spouting rationalized nonsense rather than acknowledge their own misconceptions and seek resolution.

The Internet is amazing when it works and horrible when it doesn't.

So my ideal is to always attempt to treat people in the same manner that I would expect them to treat me in real life. It doesn't always work, but that's why it's an ideal.

Nobody has to agree. I suspect many don't.

Yeah mine too from the PS3 generation.  Both it and Inquisition are in my top five favorite games of all time.

Disagree on almost all fronts, but as you said that's okay :)

The only thing I'd like to comment on, is that which clashes against my own....well, I don't like the term idealism, I'll just use "tastes". I am not a fan of self-enforced emotions. If I don't spontaneously feel respect, then I don't see a point in suppressing my psyche. I prefer vitriolic honesty to pleasant dishonesty. At least, as long as it's expressed with words and not something else.

The rational part of me agree with you.

The emotonial part of me fervendtly hope that it fails miserably for two reason:

  1. Witcher 1/2 were a games with serious gameplay issues but they were and still be hailed as the new "RPG" by a rabid crowd of fanboys that came to plague this place during DA2 time.
  2. I never liked those internet messianic figure like Gabe Newell and CD project red became the new jesus christ of gaming company. They cannot make error and even worst they started acting as if they believe they are moraly superior to the rest of the industry and this was the last drop for me i hope they bankrupt.

I'm not sure why all the vitriol, Giubba. I hesitated about responding because I'm not sure how much of a reasonable discussion can be had with someone who hopes a company goes bankrupt and a few hundred people lose their job over... what, exactly? Fanboys? Or uses hyperbole such as "pathetic", "horrible map design", and so on. I won't argue whether the games are good or not, because it's a hopeless debate (personally, I really like the gameplay, even with all its flaws - and it certainly has them).

Fanboys will be everywhere. Recently I watched all the MGS game\movies to prepare for the fifth, and when I engaged in a very calm and reasonable discussion about whether or not the writing is bad, someone jumped down my throat and told me to go suck something because I can't appreciate its genius. I'm not sure where you're getting the impression that TW's fanbase considers TW2 a perfect game. YouTube comment sections? Because as someone who frequents the main boards, I promise you that the core community is far from being this blind, rabid zealot you're describing. If anything, it's highly critical. Do people there love the games? Well, obviously. Why else spend time there?

Going by the hostility in these two posts of yours towards TW and CDPR, I think you emotions might be blurring the real picture. Outside comment sections in YouTube (which are bad, no matter the topic), I'm not seeing this brain-washed support and praise. Sorry for derailing the thread even more, but it caught my eye and it bothered me.
