Ok so all I read is why do you skip doors why not get the chests or pots... are they noob or is there some pro tip secret...

I'd like to say I'm the father of the speed run (at lest on the xbox1) and the super speed run...oh yes there's a speed faster then fast.....

There are many reasons why speed runs are far better .. in fact getting doors and chests are counter productive and actually have a negative effect... let's go over these reasons and the logic behind them...

Exp and gold per hour...this has been the formula of every rpg I could think of were there has been a need to grind...you want the maximum gold and exp per hour to gross the largest gain....

The math behind it... if you run 2 games an hour and gross 2200...1100 a game... you may feel that good but it's far better to gain 300 to 500 per game and run 6 games per hour that's 1800 to 300 an hour it basiclly a rages out the diffrance being the high increase in exp.

Every second matters..never waste time.... soo you run through a game and you spend 2-5 minutes after talking getting chests and setting skills...no biggy....wrong...let's look at the math... if you run 10 games at 6 games an hour that's about an hour and a half of run time...and 3-5 minutes you can go ahead and add 30 to 50 minutes of dead wasted time you just almost doubled your run time ... from hour and a half too two hours or more.....the basic premise is making the most efficient use of your time for the most gain

Although you may feel like your gaining more getting everything in the long run...if your planing to play the game for any length of time your short changing your self.... also collecting gold should be on the bottom of your list..with RNG... let's look at this really fast

You can spend like me 2 million gold and not have every top item in the game..(RNG has not been kind to me) or there are those who drop 300 and have everything...your going to get gold regardless at the end of a run and farming it through pots and doors just is a waste of time that could otherwise be put to good use.

Some people don't mind taking their time when they play a fantasy style game.

 

For some people, maximizing efficiency isn't about how quickly they can promote characters.

 

And for people with starter weapons and level one characters playing with others in the same boat, even Routine has a high percentage of failure, meaning that you aren't getting more experience for speedrunning it, but you can turn each run into one that is more profitable by cooperating on treasure rooms.

 

Expecting every player to speedrun is demanding an awful lot of people.

I usually only play 2 or 3 games at a time, and I'm not interested in speedrunning constantly.

Still need proof...i'v been applying these principles since day 3 of the game and have been in the top 10 since the 2 week of launch with over 1200 hours in I am 70 + prestige/inquisition score ahead of my closet competition.. and have 121 will Power 56 constitution and 60 cunning.. blasting ahead ..... money does not mater exp and promotions do that is how you get stronger and ultimately advance in the general the weapons and gear will come....

That's great, I'll let you know when I want my hobby to be a more repetitive grind than my actual, no fun allowed, job.

 

Ok, serious mode engaged: I don't think anyone really disputes that you can make more gold (and xp, obviously) by speed running. The problem is some people don't find it fun, while others do. And that's why we'll have variations of this thread until the sun burns out. So really, the only viable answer remains to play with people who share your playstyle and leave lobbies that don't.

 

Oh, and not a lot of people will ever have 1200 hours on this game over its lifetime, let alone 3 months after release, so your lessons on time management may apply to, let's just say, quite a bit fewer people than you think. The game is very different at 100 hours compared to your experience.

That's not proof of anything except that you've played the game a lot.

Acquiring level 20 + weapons had a bigger impact on improving my performance than any other element of the game.

All I can say to the negativity is this... my prestige score is 601 right now and I have 1200.. I am not a master with every class in the game nor am I the best player... but what I am is a very good strategist and the fact that I am ranked 2 working one rank 1 and have incredible stats speaks more volumes then any thing you could possibly say ...every one that I have taught has made it to top 100 .... say what you will point and poke but I'll be laughing down at you from the top...

Actually people do care I get friends request every day... for people asking for help ...it is not opinion it is fact .... and I offer myself as proof

I was laughing down at you when your l33t lvl 1 Hunter got downed in that Perilous game. Please keep telling us about your rank and stats... All I saw was a leacher who didnt have a clue what he was talking about

So ones again it's not that I nessissarily spend more time then most people it's that I use my time more effeciently and effectively what you do in an hour I do 3 times that..and more .

1200 hrs / 86 = 14 hrs a day.
