Not everyone wants to speedrun. Not everyone cares about their leader board rank. If you're just starting to play DAMP gold is more important for equipment than exp.
It comes down to this: if you want to speedrun, cool. It's your game. However, start a private lobby and invite people with a similar mindset. Starting a public lobby, or, even worse, joining a public lobby, and dragging people from portal to portal without asking is just...rude, to be polite.

Medallian, just wanted to say that I think no one has the right to criticize you for how you choose to spend your time, and that I respect you very much for trying to talk to these people even after all of the crap they have thrown at you. I have watched one of your streams and you most certainly do not deserve any of the insults.
It really amazes me how incredibly hateful people can be with all of the bizarre personal attacks. Maybe it is just human nature to be like this... I don't know. All I know for sure is that the BS people have said about you on the forum and even in some games has shown me an aspect of humanity I never wanted to see. I really hope all of you guys learn to be more mature in your lives, because as far as I can tell, most of you have the mentality of bitter and hateful children.

If you guys have an issue with Medallian, why do you have to make such a public display of insulting him? All I have seen in his posts and in a stream of his is that he is a nice fellow. All I see coming from you guys is personal attacks and even some really bizarre and baseless rumors. If you guys think that Medallian has issues, what does it say about you when you all keep on ganging up on him? Really, I am speechless at some of the things I've seen said to Medallian. Speed running is great for maximum efficiency, fine we get that.
However may of us and certainly the great horde out there not on BSN generally play for fun. We don't really care about what our Prestige number is or where on the Leaderboard we sit.
Ok I agree with what your saying wholly but there's a vote to kick button and you can leave and find another game....so really the complaining is pointless ...if you have problems finding people use the forum to find like minded people as I have done and build a network of like minded friends ...That's great, I'll let you know when I want my hobby to be a more repetitive grind than my actual, no fun allowed, job.
Ok, serious mode engaged: I don't think anyone really disputes that you can make more gold (and xp, obviously) by speed running. The problem is some people don't find it fun, while others do. And that's why we'll have variations of this thread until the sun burns out. So really, the only viable answer remains to play with people who share your playstyle and leave lobbies that don't.
Oh, and not a lot of people will ever have 1200 hours on this game over its lifetime, let alone 3 months after release, so your lessons on time management may apply to, let's just say, quite a bit fewer people than you think. The game is very different at 100 hours compared to your experience.
I've said it twice and I'll say it again; this is a dungeon crawler. Keyword: Crawler. I'm not here for kills or promotions. I want loot. ALL of it. Every 11 gold pot. Every poor little nug who magically appears in my face will explode into loot. Glorious gold.
If you don't want to play the game that way, cool. But, MY game? My rules. If I'm hosting, I'm stopping for every hidden door I know about. I will drop the game, if you drop into it and proceed to speed run through it.
Grammar should be a thing when trying to educate the masses.

Medallian you are correct with your statement that going for chest may not be the most efficient way of doing it pass a certain level (Gear + promotion). However it is worded in aggressive way (My way or the highway)
Couple of points:
1. A new player does not have your promotion level and gear therefore he can't speed run effectively. In this case playing the game, opening chests on routine is probably a more efficient way. (Until you get strong enough and master your build)
2. Fun factor, not everyone cares about being on the leaderboard. Some people like to play the game in a more casual way, even on perilous.
2. People are hostile towards you because you sound like a show off. (Hey look at me I'm the best in this game, you guys should all do what I do) This might not be intentional but it comes off like that in most of your post. It makes you sound rude and unprofessional.
3. When you argue something don't ever use yourself as the main argument. (It works because check me out on leaderboard and my promotions = im awesome)

Personally, I'd love to spend 10-12 hours a day playing this game. I wish I could but family/work always get in the way of my gaming ambitions.
But hey, if ever won the lottery, then yeah, I'd probably be playing this game a whole lot more.

I think you made your point
To the average damp player it looks as if he's sacrificing the actual fun out of the game but I guess the "fun" part for him is the social part of helping people be like him and going up in the leaderboards of course. So, he's playing a game that moves his name up and down on a top 100 board and talks to people about doing that same thing.
