It's fine...to say what you want ..grinding and long hours don't make me a good player nor do my stats but I state them to say I have experience and time in the game more so then most...and that maybe I have noticed something alot of the theories i'v read fall apart with my high lvl stats ... or just don't add up... if you would like to join me to test anything using logic and a scientific method of reasonable deduction...we can do that... and many who play with me tend to see my point... say what you will bUT alot of ppl learn and benefit from my advice... and regardless of the negativity I get from this forum the positive feed back I get in game far out wieght and eclipse any negativity that is spat at me on these forums.... I love to see ppl grow and evolve and just knowing that I had a slight or major part in that makes me very happy... so I'll keep on posting grinding climbing and improving ....^^ and I hope you all will join me for the journy... and it would be nice if bio ware put some definitive stats out so we can stop the guessing game as it were

I grab chest when the party seems interested in them.

I will run strait past if party doesn't seem interested.

A pot on perilous yields almost as much gold that a routine chest does though.

The only thing I find offensive about this guide is that you self-titled yourself "Father of Speedrun" without kissing my ring first. Noone becomes a made-man in DAMP without my blessing.   

Here's where you went wrong:
1. When speaking on a topic that makes you sound like an elitist use humor.
2. You always have to account for how that applies to noobies as well. They won't understand if they cannot duplicate it to see the result or have a good understanding why it is done.

3. Don't stick to only one avenue. You have to cover multiple bases to explain your point(s) (i.e. not just discussing Perilous).

The Truth of Why People Skip Chests:
1.  Survival - If you are under-equipped particular to your Level/Prestige/Gear combination vs the Difficulty then it's a good idea to forgo possible Boss Rooms and loot the safe rooms only.

 

2. Chickenish - This mostly applies to Perilous players, but can apply to anyone who is intentionally playing above their difficulty. They are scared of getting wiped by a chest boss. This is why many loot vases first before opening chests or outright skip them.

 

3. The mathematics - Doing too much of any one thing will negatively impact another. Running thru and skipping all chests and vases will net you less gold/hr same as looting too many vases/boss rooms. I find the Run-N-Gun most effective. Hitting all safe rooms, looting visible vases and splitting the party if they are strong enough (2 hit the spawns and 2 take out a treasure room). It works best for Routine and Threatening. It does NOT work for noobie teams or Perilous (not with an under-equipped team at least). Noobies can use a run-n-gun strategy but what they lack is map knowledge.

 

What SRs have failed to provide is tactics on HOW to SR and which rooms to hit. There's no reason to dispute if SR is more effective anymore (or as some originally tried to say, "ineffective"), nor if it's possible to successfully do with Pugs vs private matches. That's been debunked for the most part. If you want to "convince" people of your tactics then produce videos or documentation showing how it works (i.e. safe rooms on each map, how to alternate run-aheads, the advantage of ranged vs melee).

That may be so. I don't know Med well enough to know if he's willing to accept criticism or feedback. However personally attacking an author and derailing his/her thread for a POV not related to their post is just as counter-productive. I'm all for derailing a thread to inject humor. It is the BSN way afterall. If the mere presence of someone's avater or username makes a person butthurt, then don't respond to their post unless you plan on sticking to the topic.

Looming someone's name on Xb1 would take forever. You'd have to buy memberships for all the wool, so it would cost a fortune, too. And "proclaim" does not mean "I think" (the words he actually used.) And no one used the word "outrageous," but I'm starting to think it is, indeed, the right word for this situation.
