So, essentially, if you are a player who wants to get more xp for promoting/getting more OP so you can farm gold faster, then skip chests. If you are a player who just wants to ****** about enjoying the scenery of whatever, then get them. What exactly is all the fuss about?

Just to add my experience and opinion; personally I enjoy speedrunning on perilous and as such my opinions are specifically relating to this with teams of friends. I think having one person split away from a group to open free chest rooms on perilous (providing you have a competent team) has negligable impact on completion times. The person who's door it is opens said door whilst people are clearing the floor, empties the chest then rejoins the group. If the people I'm playing with are able to deal with door bosses solo then the same applies.

 

Just the other week when playing in a group with OP I opened a free chest and one of the guys we were playing with got a purple which turned out to be shield of the emperor. Whilst the rewards are rare the chance is still there, collecting a few extra hundred gold per game without impacting completion times seems like a no brainer personally.

 

What I have noticed about teams that speedrun is that people seem obsessed with getting the most kills, instead of working like a team, the reason time is sometimes added at the end on a floor is because A. No one has noticed their given door, meaning they try get it at the end. (seriously get annoyed with having to tell the people I play with each time) or B. Players want to get the most kills so think they'll just get the free door afterwards, therefore wasting floor completion times.

 

My opinions are different on speeding through threatening, the team splits into two groups, one deals with treasure rooms and the other two clear the map, the treasure room guys rejoin the floor clearers upon finishing their rooms or floor clearers pull the group to the next area depending on how fast each team does their job, this becomes faster with team synergy.

 

Just to end, I don't think this is the way everyone should play. It's just how I like to play, If the people i'm playing with don't like the way I like to play I'll either find a different group of like minded players or i'll just accept that's how the group likes to play and go with it. This is a team game afterall.

Everyone is titled to there opinion... the title of the thread was mostly to get people to view it. But what I said was very sound.. it's just about making the most of your time... the reward for doors is 95%of the time not worth it in my opinion and I have enjoyed great success skipping doors and still accrue a great deal of gold. There's no doubt that my method has merit. But hey I got you all talking

Those are generally not things nice people do.  My suggestion is that you go back, reflect on your actions, and probably apologize to the person you told to drown, choke, and used profanity to.  You got all defensive instead of actually trying to be a decent human being.  That's not cool man, not cool.

I judge you by your actions.  You wished Elcor would drown and choke, and you saw fit to call him one who commits sexual relations with other persons parents (in a way that made it obvious you were bypassing the profanity filters, insulting everyone on these boards).

 

Long story short, instead of more excuses, why not just apologize to him and everyone else you forced to read your little tirade?  That's what a good person would do.  You know you did something very wrong, as do we all.  So just be mature, admit it, apologize, and move on.

@ OP - I read your posts for amusement, as I find your constant referral to your hours played / leader board position to be mildly entertaining. However, given that your spelling and grammar is awful, I find it difficult to stay focused. Learn to spell, learn to format and people could take you a bit more seriously.
