One of my pet peeves is the ooof sound the male British voice makes when he jumps. Cringe worthy.
Every time he makes that annoying sound, I think it's Varric making it (even if he's not with me at the time). The sound does not fit at all!

Storm Coast:
Getting the red templar key. The first time I went through this I looted everything. Someone said you need to go to the beginning and look around. I ran back to the initial cave leading to the area where I fought nothing and there was some loot with it on there. Next playthrough, I am paying attention to everything as I begin this quest. I get just through the first cave to the boats and I look behind me, and there is loot on the ground. I have fought nothing - it just appeared - and the key is on it. Huh?!
I had this issue as well and I had to actually leave the area to get the key to appear. I think that two of the templars inside, are supposed to be outside so...you kill them inside and their loot piles end up outside, where they're supposed to be.

Yeah, you just have to run around in that room and all the sudden a stack of ribs falls at your feet, that allows you to loot the key. But at least it means the key will always show up, even if it doesn't make sense. ![]()

That's what I thought the first time. The second time I had not even killed anything, this is literally at the boats when you first enter that area. I turned around and loot that wasn't there was now there and it had the key. ![]()

Or how about when you're standing next to them and a random pack of wolves attack your party. The NPC's don't react at all.
I was in the Exalted Plains where all those wolf packs are and I could not get my companions to stop running around killing wolves and halla...this was while I was trying to get a very annoying shard in that area so I was already not in the best of moods and everybody is going wacko around me.

So cruel! You'll make his moustache droop in sadness!
Ah, Rifty's just post-game, so I'm only popping on her to finish the dragons I never go around to slaying (free dragon fights, who wouldn't!)
If I tried more than one during the proper story, I don't think I could keep their personalities straight. I think I tried during DA2, and just ended up with a diplomatic Hawke acting very out of character for a while (then she had anger management and got better!).
Gah, are bears like the super-villains of the world? So powerful and always where you least want to see them. Bears are definitely a peeve in general! They show up everywhere, unless you're specifically looking for them. Tricky buggers. Even Cass can't grapple a bear?
Bears are the super-villains of Thedas! They are Cassie's kryptonite. She can slice them, dice, them, stab them and make disgusted noises at them. She can even beat them with a stick. But she can't grapple them.
I can relate. I killed half a dozen great bears on my first visit to the Emerald Graves, but when I wanted to get myself some great bear hides later, I couldn't find one for two hours.
Yeah. DAI's bears are evil bastards.
The favor for the elves, right? I remember thinking I'd seen a bazillion of them on the Storm Coast earlier, so I went back. I could feel their eyes, watching me from cover, but none of them would make an appearance.

I am a square button spammer. I blow through all dialogue now just to unlock the codex and inevitably trigger an ability as the conversation ends trying to lop off the poor person's head.

Maaaan, Solas totally pushed me off a castle ledge in Hinterlands last week. I literally yelled at the screen. REALLY BRO? REALLY?
Or when him, Cassandra, and Varric like to stand in the shooting range of the Highlands dragon when we're hiding by the camp, trying to get her to fly away. Those three will just stand there and die over and over no matter what I do to lead them away from the fire.

*cough*
By the way, I have NO sympathy for any of you being pushed off cliffs by companions. They may be on different continents on different worlds in totally different planes of existence, but companions stick together. Lydia told them ALL about your oh so cute little "Hey Lydia, go stand at the edge here at the throat of the world... okay, perfect... FUS RO DAH" moment. So yeah, companion payback. It's a Vivienne.

Falling off the worlds. Final boss fight with the Dragon was between me and it, with it flying above me as I shot at it from beneath the world.

The only thing I would really classify as a real pet peeve is getting to the mosaic above the cave north of Redcliffe farms. I don't feel like it is a test of anything other than appeasement of the random Gods in me finally mashing the keyboard and mouse buttons in the right random order. Even the one where the dragon is isn't nearly as bad.

That Skyhold never gets fixed. Also, the fact that sometimes your companions don't appear in Skyhold when you want to talk to them. Blackwall and Cole, I'm looking at you two in particular.
Yeah, I hate that. Worst to least worse for me: Iron Bull > Cole > Cassandra > Leliana > Blackwall > Varric > Solas > Vivienne. I've never had the problem with Sera, Dorian, Josephine and Cullen. Vivienne only happens when that whole area hasn't loaded until I get there, and Solas happens all the time, but he appears 1 second later every time.

The games shoddy party AI that shuts down in the middle of a fight. Nothing worse than taking on every enemy in the area because your party members are standing around doing nothing right in the middle of a fight.

There are always things people will pick apart in these games, some serious, some minor and some are just things that are just like that itch you can't scratch! We have enough love/hate threads. Give me your pet peeves folks, let's keep it light hearted and not so serious!
I am sure we would all like more customization in Skyhold, and I am sure we'd all like to see some areas fixed that are left in disrepair through the whole game. For me one of these items has become an obsession that causes me to yell at my TV screen everytime I see it. My friends I give you the candelabra in side room of the garden where the devout go to pray. It's on the floor the whole game! People must be stepping over this repeatedly and yet no one picks it up! I get that it takes a long time to repair walls but anyone can pick up the candelabra anytime, with no effort.... except no one seems to do it! There is even a cutscene with the thing on the floor when Cullen is praying! I mean they had to make a conscious effort to leave this on the ground in the cutscene! ARGH! Someone really needs to pick this thing up....
Here you can see it in all it's annoying glory!
https://www.youtube....h?v=_GTRbnpfrlU
Come on Cullen pick it up!
I totally agree - we have this BIG, SPRAWLING FORTRESS and we can't really do much of anything with it -.-
That's missed oportunity right there, things like:
- a greenhouse (not some measly pots I have to plant stuff in myself...come on I am the leader of a powerful faction and I should have a herbologist do my gardening for me!)
- a real armory
- some mines (which regularly give you metals etc. - maybe even quests, like with the mine in DA2!)
- real training of your forces (and use of said forces)
- and damage to Skyhold should be fixed over time (I hate that there's a "window" (a hole in the wall) directly in front of the war room for example...oh - and I want to be able to enter the war room like a normal room, without that stupid cutscene stealing my time!)
- etc.
should come with something as grand as Skyhold - hell, I would have loved to face an attack on it (and how well you do depends partly on the repairs/training of your forces, the agents you have (note: agents...would have loved to have been able to really use those as well, send them out, have them work behind the scenes etc.) and maybe even which companions you have left behind, if the attack happens when the PC is not at Skyhold!)
There's other things that make me scream though, like the new talent trees (need I say more?), the spell limitation, no skillpoints for things like magic, willpower etc. (I hate that I can cast one, maybe two spells and then need to wait till I have mana again...the pool should grow larger as you level up, without having to rely on talents in order to be able to cast more...come on that's not mage gameplay, that's maybe mage apprentice gameplay (and I am talking about apprentices that are say 10 years old or something and not fully grown and trained -.-)), potions limitation, no health regeneration...-.-
To put it in a nutshell:
I wanted DA:O 2.0 and not generic action RPG 0.5 -.-
greetings LAX
ps: The armors and weapons look rather bland, too (the good looking ones you can't get - like say what those elven guardians are wearing or the Templar's armor (note: I'd love to be able to loot what people are wearing/using...it's stupid to kill the big sword and shield templar and loot a rusty dagger or some trash you can only sell -.-))
pps: I will attempt to write a list of my gripes with this game again (the last time I tried I nearly punched a wall because I was so angry at Bioware for not having delivered a really good product (note: The game is not trash - it's not but it's not good either (!), but I expect better games from Bioware...games along the lines of DA:O and ME1!))

I yell at my screen every time Bioware takes away why agency.
But that's nothing compared to the amount of yelling I did during ME3 for the exact same reason. By the time I got to DA:I I already started not caring. And I simply never felt invested in the DA:I story.

Singleplayer
- Animals staying legitimate targets when in combat against actual enemies. For tactical reasons and because I do not like randomly killing animals.
- Animals randomly getting targeted and thus "block" a 30 sec cooldown skill that's being unleashed onto them.
- Animals setting off my traps
- Animals that take damage from predators or falling off things getting flagged as hostile/enemies, and thus causing my party to engage in combat
- Big, scary animals with lots of block getting aggro'd any of the above, because see #1
Multiplayer
- Getting bug-locked shooting one arrow after the other, character not responding to any input but basic movement
- Wraiths supercharged with fire
- Wraiths supercharged with fire & barrier
- Wraiths supercharged with fire & barrier, having cast that barrier with barely 1 HP left

Yell at the screen...DAI hasn't gotten that honor yet.
The only times I would bang the KB, and very rarely, is when I tried numerous times to kill a mob or when there's a timed sequence to get through a area. DAI has none of those.

"Get the f*ck out of my way!" Will usually be said multiple times during my PT. I have half a mind to just jump into the Mythal hole just to avoid the companions knocking me off the tiles during the temple quest.
Omg~ I had the same problem with Viv except it was more like "Viv, darling, you're ****** in my way again"
The color of dragon skin. Why ??? Why, Bioware ?? I just can't use it. Fenedhis ! A huntress in a dalish scout armor... bright orange ??? Won't get much preys that way V_V
Just ... some of the armor designs in general (and the helms! the helms!) Also the Inquizzy PJs as I like to call the Skyhold fashion. It's one of those things where I can't help feeling if F2P MMOs can implement complete wardrobes of fashion, the least DA:I can do is let me choose between say~ Orlesian Circle Mage armor skins (Viv) or Dalish Keeper armor skins or Rebel Mage armor skins.
My Inquisitor sitting in judgement with her legs spread wide open, I can't help but cringe every time I see it.. talk about immodest
Agreed~ the walk animation of the Inquiz in the cut scenes bothered me so much - she's hunched over, legs spread and knees permabent like some kind of gorilla. And right next to her you have Cassandra or Lel walking like a normal woman. It's really like they animated some kind of awkward male PC and then just put a female skin on top of it.
Also. THE OUTFIT THAT SHALL NOT BE SPOKEN OF. (Is it too much to ask for a dress? I can live without long flowy hair which BW is too lazy to animate, but really. Even Morrigan is dressed up. And Solas' hat ughhhh) Were there any women on the DA design team? Because sometimes I wonder. I wonder.
