So I was watching this gem of an ad
Which is cheesier than a four cheese pizza and I figured we could talk about some other Based God video game commercials and advertisements.
This one is EA's favorite

For a long while, we thought "Bacon in the Pan" was one of the two hidden "mega" stunts and spent hours upon hours trying to figure out how it was done.
Time well wasted.
LOL. Why did they get rid of the voice changer??? Lmao.
Legend of Zelda has a sliding scale of bad and good commercials.
Bad
Good
Amazing
I have more. But I wanted to start with Zelda.

No idea. I always thought that was pretty neat although I never got a chance to use it myself. First time I got Xbox Live was in 2009 on 360.

I have the same kind of scenario in my head when I think about picking up Conception II for my 3DS

They just don't make 'em like they used to. Then again, I don't watch TV like I used to so I wouldn't know. *Salutes burrito*

I definitely remember seeing this on TV all the time.

I remember seeing it when I was really young.
I was 2? 3? when Smash 1 came out. So it's vague.
Mine isn't a video and so I guess it isn't technically a commercial, but that old red poster for John Romero's legendary flop Daikatana may be the most (in)famous single video game advertisement ever (I didn't include the actual image in this post because I would almost certainly get a warning point for that).

Lol damn, I hadn't heard about that. It came out on N64 too? That flew under the radar bad.
Technically not an ad for a game. But it's a promotion for Halo. I found it absolutely hilarious.
Halo 3: ODST
Metal Gear Solid

You know, Doritos made a fortune off of that 'scandal.'
^Not that I know of. I wasn't even aware it was a scandal. But I just thought it was funny because the person is just so uninterested in what he is doing. That said, the promotional probably did wonders for them. People keep talking about it.

The game had been much hyped for a long time leading to its release, because of John Romero's reputation for his work on Doom. But it spent years in development hell; during the development cycle, the Quake II engine made its debut. Daikatana had been written up to that point for the Quake I engine, and eleven months of coding had to be scrapped to make the switch to the Quake II engine. The final product was just embarassing on every level (heck, one of the characters is named "Superfly Johnson"), and today the game is often named as one of the worst of all time.

"Superfly Johnson" LMAO! That sounds like some male stripper's stage name.

Halo 3: ODST
I've always been fond of Halo's commercials. Especially the one Bulletstorm parodied.
