why lego when you can arcane?

Guard is taken down simply with a few arrows on the highest difficulty so unless your Lego is gifted with gear from the rng gods, why even bother when the arcane warrior can just chain lightning or pota, frost step into mobs, and than fade cloak for full barrier. Rinse, and repeat for 5 zones and place first on scoreboard. And to wonder why there are so many arcane warriors in perilous pugs, well there isn't any reason not to use this character due to his low risk/high reward playstyle.
And before you tell me that the arcane warrior is a paper tiger or a glass cannon without barrier, if you haven't noticed ALL characters are pretty fragile without barrier on perilous. For the amount of work and gear required to do well on perilous the arcane warrior beats most characters in terms of survivability and dps with lower level gear and abilities.
I'm sure the archer has much higher dps than him and I'm positive other mages can cc better but there isn't any other character that can do all those things quite well. Can an assassin survive if she misses a poorly tracked twin fang out of stealth? Can an archer survive without a keeper feeding him barrier 24/7? The arcane warrior doesn't need help from teammates at all, he can do fine with or without your assisted dps or aggro. In fact, your probably dropping his fade shield when you do so.
I have played both Lego and AW extensively from threatening to perilous, and without a shadow of doubt in my mind the one character that seems to be the most selfish and has utter disregard for group dynamics is the AW. I don't blame people for playing him that way because you can make excuses and blame the person behind the character but it's really just someone piloting him the way he was designed. I understand this is a mere co op game, and there should be some leeway as to how people play but there's something to be said about entering into a perilous room and constantly seeing three arcane warriors. When's the latest time you saw a lobby full of lego tanks in perilous?
I'm merely stating the experiences I've had with co op multiplayer, and the more I play this the more homogenous it is when it comes to what class seems to always place on top and be at the front lines tanking everything that comes it's way, and no it's not the steel dwarf.

The reasons I bring a lego instead of an AW are thus:
1. I need to prestige a warrior for more constitution (although Katari is far more fun, getting a lego to 20, for me, is faster)
2. IMO, the arcane warrior is boring and requires a frantic play style to keep your barrier up
3. The AW sounds like a cockney Forest Gump (not that the Lego's banter is much better though...)
4.

I agree with the design of the AW lending itself to a lone-wolf playstyle, and I personally prefer a nice group dynamic, like traditional rpg's.

Because Legionnaire can be totally invincible with repeated Walking Fortress + clusters of enemies, but Arcane Warrior cannot be totally invincible.

I stumbled into a game of Keepers on Perilous once. They were doing quite well actually. I get your point about the AW, but this is old news. We all know it's the easiest kit to solo with. That said, there's something to be said about the people who do use other kits like the Lego, and not only survive, but outrank the AW. That's pure skill.

Lego is only invincible for 8-9 seconds, it's one of the best abilities in the game but arcane warrior can keep his fade shield up with no cooldown whatsoever if he has enemies to cast chain lightning, or pop fade cloak into mobs and he gets a nice amount of barrier. Hence the reckless and lone wolf playstyle of most arcane warriors. With cooldown passives and gear, Lego can cut the time down quite a bit for the next walking fortress but AW still can dps while keeping his barrier up.

That's weird I have never, seen a legionnare outscore an arcane warrior in a perilous pug. Granted this isn't a scoring contest since its supposed to be a co op experience, unless the arcane warrior was terrible and had the wrong abilities chosen like not choosing fade shield or something, it's just not the way these two characters were inherently designed. One was given the gift of soaking up dmg and being a little aggro toy, while the other can do whatever he wants without having any reliance on his teammates whatsoever.

Sorry that was a big 'ol typo. The lego can survive just as well as an AW, and other kits can outrank the AW with skill. I have never seen a Lego do both, either.
my bad!

I've seen legos wreck perilous to the point I wondered if they were cheating. It's all about the guy behind the controller.
But it's far easier to pilot an arcane warrior than a dwarf even at a lower gear and promotion level.

Is that a firm tournament axe that Lego has equipped, if so he may just finish third behind the arcane warrior in a perilous pug.

AW's are first because they run ahead, ignore all other team mates, do not tank for the good of the party and wouldn't raise a dead comrade if he was their god father and they were laying right next to him. Sorry mate! gotta kill things!

Just because I've never seen a Lego outmatch an AW's damage doesn't mean he isn't valued if he's properly specced and equipped (and used right). His ability to stand in the thick of it and draw agro is impressive, not to mention War Cry and To the Death can be invaluable in drawing aggro from bosses like RTC and DC. This benefits the AW, as well, because when other enemies are preoccupied, there's less of a chance for the AW and his teammates to get swarmed.

That should be the AW creed for sure, anything to keep the barrier alive and going even at the expense of your team.

I'd write a guide on how to troll an AW using a Tank Legionnaire (via player collision) but I think people would actually do it.
Bestow this advice......
