So the problem with PC games is too many games and not enough of them are blockbusters?
Yep, something like that. I would add that most of those too many games are barely playable, sometimes half finished, rushed indie games.
For some time steam opened its doors for all of them with what seems to be 0 quality control from steam. To the point there are games from wannabe devs who have no idea about programming let alone game making.
The results are hilarious, like this one for example - game dev admitting on the forum that he has no idea how to program something because he is not any good:

No wonder his so called "game" is not a game at all - just a random power point photo presentation sold and advertised as a game.
Or how about 10 minutes long "game" for 4 bucks with 0 replayability. You are old lady, you go to cemetery bench and die. Another pearl.

Come on, in the past even low quality shareware games were better. Crap like that should be published for free maybe on some obscure indie site not on steam. People are getting fed up and and are getting more and more cautious. In the end it will hurt those few devs left, who tries to develop something worthwhile.
I can go on and on about steam like that no no ends. But let's go back to PC games in general.
Some of you guys say we are getting back on the tracks. Not so much from where I stand.
Where are some good strategy games. Nobunaga, L'Emperuer, Romance of The Three Kingdoms, Panzer General ...
Tactical games Jagged Alliance, Laser Squad, Silent Storm, Police Quest Swat ...
Simulator games Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe, Battle of Britain, Combat Flight Simulator...
Sport games like TV sport boxing ... wait there is entire series now - consoles exclusive, Golf - yep, there is - console exclusive...
Again I could go on like that forever.
But nevermind. I don't see PC gaming any better, only worse witch each day.
