I'm Italian, and I play with italian subtitles. Sadly, doesn't exist italian dub, so I have to stik with english voices.

 

I usually play games in italian when I can. If I play game in english, is because they don't exist in italian.

Which language version are you referring to? Cullen's VA was alright in the German version. Haven't played the French version, so I can't comment on that but based on the different trailers, the voices were all okay, IMHO. I prefere Cory's English voice, though. It sounds deeper than the others.

Meh: French. I can understand politicians to a rather unexpectedly large degree. They articulate so well. The average French person is just a blur to me.

I play the game in English.

Just for the giggles they should make a Latin dub of this game with English subtitles.. You know, Roman, that kind of Latin. I'd totally play that haha. Hell, I'd probably even pay for it.

There is no Norwegian sub/dub, and even if there were I'd sooner throw myself off a cliff than actually play it. We have like, 3 (maybe 4) VAs in the entire country and most of them suck. So English voice and text.

Haha. This is EXACTLY how I feel about Dutch and even the amount of VAs is about correct.. I suppose haha.

Some games are localised automatically, and I hate it. Though this is mostly the menu language and not the spoken language when it's Dutch.

It would be really great if they didn't do these menu localizations by google translate. Though it has gotten better, Tomb Raider wasn't that bad until I discovered how to set it to English.

Native language: English, living for 27 years in a German civilian environment now and could say German is my 2nd native language. However, I prefer English, I play in English, my computer as is my phone and everything else are set to English. It's what I grew up with.

French and english (french being my native language)

I prefer to play games in their original languages or english as the french dubbing is often inferior with few exceptions (Skyrim, The last of us and Mass Effect all have very good french voices). Unfortunately Dragon Age is not among the exception and it's french voices are way inferior to the english original ones.

I bought it on the Playstation store and am forced to endure the french version as Sony and/or EA thought that including the original voices in a digital download was not a good idea. I am dreading the moment I'll cross path with Morrigan.

I wonder if DAI was translated in Japan. I know they got the subs, but don't know if it got dubbed.

 

As someone, who has played a few english games that have been dubbed in Japanese. A big problem with literature heavy games is   a lot of context, and expression is lost, or confused. A game like Dragon Ag,e will never carry across the intended message 100% accurately  too such a different language.

 

This is most problematic between west and asian countries due  to the differences in how the language is structured/rules ect.

 

Then the culture problems, western countries tend to be low context,  but countries like Japan are high in context. A good example of this is in the Ending of FFX.

 

In Japan Yuna does not say ' I love you to tidus.' because from the Japnese perspective its already understood. However in the west, because it is a low context culture Yuna has to actually say " I love you" for it to have the same impact.

 

So I don't blame BIoware for not translating and just using subs for Japanese.

Here in Brazil, Bioware has tons of fans.

 

I really hope that the next Mass Effect and Dragon Age games comes fully voice acted to my country. BF4 has an awesome PT-BR voice acting, with professional va's. Games like The Last of Us, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity, Dying Light and Shadow of Mordor uses only ' top-class ' voice actors, the best ones here in Brazil. 

 

I know it would be VERY HARD to fully voice act RPG's with a lot of choices in PT-BR, but it would be awesome as f*ck if they do it.

 

Mostly I play all the games on english, Dragon Age Inquisition for an example has subtitles in brazilian portuguese, and they are very well written. I've noticed only two errors in 5 playthroughs, but nothing that would ruin the game. To always keep my english at its best, I try to play the games with no subtitles at all. I may suck at writing, but I can speak english with no problems.

You think that's bad? I learnt Indo for about, I don't know, 4+ years in primary and high school, and all I remember is the name of the currency, and some of the numbers 1 through 10. Can't even say hello.

I'm german and I play all my games in english without subtiles. I don't like most of the german voices in the games I play.

I'm spanish. I play game in English (audio and subs).    I don't like reading spanish subs that much because they use the south american's phrase.

I speak german, sorbian (both native languages), english, more than rusty russian and minor bits of japanese. I play my games in german or english... it really depends on the VA quality. Whereas in Mass Effect the english version is by far better I'm playing Dragon Age in german because the voice acting in Dragon Age games was and is very good. (Except that they changed some voice actors that I really enjoyed between DA:O and DAII... like the voice for Alistair and Leliana  ) And I play without subtitles... I hate subtitles  ...too much distraction.

 Most of my games are in English, though I'm usually enabling the english subtitles as well, to make sure I don't miss anything.

In most cases I prefer the original voice acting, which seems to fit the characters better. Language can change the atmosphere of a game, I listened to some german youtube videos of DA Origins and it sounded oddly formal.

I only *really* speak English so I play with English VO & subtitles (Still think it's unusual there's no British-English text option though).

I know very small amounts of Welsh and French but nowhere near enough to play an entire game in either. I doubt that any game includes a Welsh language option, anyway.
