It almost certainly means you can't get infinite items from chests by leaving one item in the chest, zoning out, and then zoning back in. No more infinite Amulets of Power from Crestwood, or farming Tier 3 Schematics in Emprise du Lion.
Truth be told, I am fine with somehow removing the ability to infinitely spawn those Amulets of Power, but I also don't have a problem with someone wanting to use said exploit anyway. I personally don't do that with the amulets, as it stands.
With that being said though, I would really hate the ability to farm for schematics, to be removed. I am one of those weirdoes that really likes farming. Plus, with the RNG being as unforgiving as it can be.... (I didn't start farming till my third play through, and didn't even get a quarter of the schematics available. And that is added up together
Ah well. Guess we shall wait and see.

Should note the selfish attitude I have, regarding the amulet exploit. LOL! Honestly, would rather all loot related exploits be left alone. That would be easier than paring them out...which one stays, which one goes, yada-yada. Just my .02 though.

No but seriously, I'm pretty miffed. They fixed a bunch of things no one asked them to. Huzzah? Party banter? Nope. Male elf arms? Nope. More armors for Qunquisitors? Nope, actually them having armors was the bug lol.
Plus. I was really, really looking forward to that damn mirror. Bioware lied!

I'd say it's still too soon for outraging, but if TBA is a paid DLC after all, then there would be reasons for that. Mostly Bioware's fault, for advertising it alongside with the first Patch 5 post, and not specifying that it was a DLC.
I wouldn't care that much if it's pushed to Patch 6, although I really expected to begin my new Mage Qunquisitor with the new items...
(and no way I'm gonna wait for P6 for that).

I know. In fact I asked, when it was announced, whether the BE was part of the patch or just a tiny DLC they were beta testing ALONG with the patch. Still that is really, really the kind of thing you make explicitly clear before your fandom gets their hopes up.

Well...that’s sucks. No more chest farming? I wasn’t enjoying it very much trust me but how else am i suppose to get useful schematics and not rubbish from merchants? O you want to sell me dlc? But I already paid for this content, you wanna sell it to me again? Don't you dare do this. If bioware really gonna do this, they not getting a penny out of me, that's right I’m going to pirate your dlc and all you games in future. I'm not your farm chest bioware, enjoy farming others I’m done buying you games.

And I am one of those weirdoes that really hates farming, but feel compelled to do so. You see, the munchkin OCD force is strong within me, and from my experience that goes for a significant part of other RPG players too. I agree though that due to the overpowered nature of said schematics, the now non-exploitive nature and randomness of loot rolls could be felt almost like playing on a different difficulty scale. Which is, if you think about it, a good thing considering the general consensus seems to be that the game is pretty much a pushover.
I'm very happy if Bioware has spared me countless hours of inane repetition and at the same time added more challenge to the game by such a fix.

I can't say I was missing any of those announced features, other than auto-atack (may be, and it's not clear yet whether it's going to be KB+M-specific or not and how is it even going to work).
The only thing that can make me really-really angry is adding the face-codes that can only be viewed for the previously created characters via the Mirror(=part of the potentially $$ DLC). We'll wait and see, I guess.

From the patch 5 notes it seems not everything I had hoped made it into this patch... I'll be waiting for patch 6 then. If you're testing the patch 6 beta, be sure to test it good yes? ![]()
Edit: Yeah scratch that, patch 5 has auto-attack, increased zoom in tac cam, no more terrain flickering, improved stability etc., more than enough for me to start gaming. Thank you Bioware ![]()

Last I checked it's pretty clear it's a part of the patch process. If it is turned into DLC folks will be pissed and I doubt BioWare would do that...especially considering the fans in the patch process now would likely object to it.

Yeah, the headliner 'Introducing the DAI Patch 5 Beta Program, Featuring the Black Emporium' along with the talks about 'the biggest patch ever' kinda suggested that it's part of patch 5, along with some other features, but we have the full patch notes now, and plenty of things are not on the list.
Storage chest, font size and mouse-look (beta, wip) are pretty much all the additions we get.

There seems to be some fixes that were updated in the patch notes later. (in case you didn't see them) here they are:
- Fixed the walk toggle to be framerate independent.
- Removed the connection between mesh quality and shader quality and added a Shader Quality setting to the Graphics options.
- Added item tinter to the Undercroft in Skyhold.
- Fixed terrain patches popping while moving on low and medium settings.
- Prevented a change to the Gamepad control scheme if a compatible gamepad is not connected.
Allowed changing the control scheme to Mouse + Keyboard when a compatible gamepad is not connected.
Temporarily change to the Mouse + Keyboard control scheme when a compatible gamepad is not connected, but Gamepad is the selected control scheme. - Fixed flickering terrain when using SLI/Crossfire.
- Single-player only: implemented auto-attack with mouse and keyboard controls, with a new key binding created for this purpose.
- Added an Option to increase the maximum zoom level when using the Tactical Camera.
