Yeah. let's just pretend we are dumb and accept being bought by their "mercyful" patch. Did you miss the point that is they actually talking? They didn't talk to the community. They are just trying to silence players, corrupt them to like this ****.
Conrary to the rest of the people of the earth, I guess the other 100%, I'm not corruptible, giving me what I want is not going to appease me and make me forget their bullshit.

They could fill this game with every single one of my wishes and bow to me and I would still point their mistakes. They're the blight upon cRPG and none of the "features" (aka trash) of this patch addresses the lack of RPG in Inquisition. It will keep on being a beautiful interactive movie with a Bioware character, without builds, with jump, with MMO respawning and so on.

Only the corrupible will accept this excuse of patch, this imbecile pleaser.

And of course, the people deprived of brain who already like this game, even a little.

Okay, so if being given what you want doesn't appease you in the slightest, what does? I mean besides the entire world's population being thrown violently into the sun?

This is EXCELLENT.

Party storage AND an armor tint? Two features I know I personally asked for more than once. :D

Hew now, this is still the BSN. Thread is in serious need of some calibrations.

"Something something even bigger patch is going to break even more things than fixing them something."

Fixed it for ya

Oooh!  Excitement!  This should shut us all up for a while, no?  One shiny fat bone tossed to appease the great toxic unwashed!

Well, eventually, anyway.

"Closed beta program".  For patches.  For the select few, culled and anointed from the herd. Mag-freakin-nificant.

Wonder how many hotfixes all this candy-coating will need?  Personally I'd save all the excitement and bootlicking until after this crate of wonders delivers.  What it's supposed to do and what it will actually do are two entirely different things.  If it actually makes this 'game' playable I shall be the first to sing its praises.  Enthusiastically.

Still, seems we've heard similar promises before.

Sorry - was that negative?  Cynical, perhaps.  It's easy to confuse the two. Precedents being set and all that...

In this case, I'd take the clipping. If they just let us have our hats rest on our hair, clipping and all, I would be overjoyed, and I think most other people would too.

There's a glitch where you summon a mount, let your companion ride the mount then unmount and your hair will clip.

I think that was it. Not sure if they ever addressed it.

Would it have been better had these things been in from the word go? Of course. But on the other hand, it's good to see that Bioware are listening to what we want to see in the game, and that they are continuing to provide support and more importantly content for free after the game's release - something that not all games companies do. So, thanks guys, keep it up :)

Hell, they say straight up that the stuff mentioned in the post isn't the entirety of the patch.

I assume it will be similar to the DA2 Black Emporium, no spoilers for any part of the game that a palyer would not have unlocked by the time they can go the the Emporium. It's a theme appropriate mini mall with a beauty salon (the mirror) in it and, a very quirky, interesting proprietor, no content spoilers, well unless you think buying Felandris at level 10 might be a spoiler.

I'm excited about that, the party storage and, the ability to use mats to change armor colors w/o actually changing the armor. They are doing well with this one, look like some of the old Bioware is still there and, they do listen, even if they hate what so many do when they try to interact with us. :)

I hope so but the inventory storage will be in Skyhold Undercroft so that would entail game storyline kinda stuff. At any rate, I hope you at least get into the beta, you are very helpful.

This is a good way to alleviate the cons of having a randomized loot system.

Sure.  Get the PC kids to test it first.  For free.

Easy.  Oh, wait...

Do you think they'll still blame us if we miss a few?

Gotta love the BSN. Don't get exactly what you desire, complain about it all day. BW jumps through hoops, tries to adress the concerns players have, and create a patch that's obviously no small amount of work in order to cater to some of those desires, complain about it.

The word entitlement is used far too often in the gaming world as pejorative, but it's hard to see some fight so hard to get what they want, then recoil as soon as it's given to them. Kind of like a stumbling kid on prom night I suppose.

Just like DA2, you didn't get storage until you got to Kirkwall, and it's just an empty chest you can put things out of your inventory into so you can save items for later use w/o having to carry them around. (once you know some rqs will ask for a certain type of valuables, you can stash those in storage until you need them, get a hel for level 20 at level 12, stash that too.) I don't see any potential for spoiler there.

They're giving us a chance to provide feedback. What more can they do?
The updates won't fix the dry fetch quests, but it sounds like a lot of the grind could be taken out of the game. Hopefully some combat re-scaling is done as well to make our top end gear have purpose.

I'm looking forward to this but not sure on the spoiler factor since I have not finished my first playthrough yet. It would be great if devs can tell us how much spoiler content will be in the beta patch 5 testing, will it be plot and storyline stuff or is it purely testing the pc Black Emporium and features, controls?

@Jawzzus yes on the storage! I need that so bad. Here's to proper hoarding!

There will be none. As it's not story DLC

There's an entire forum full of feedback.  We're all in it.  It's toxic, not Reddit or Twitter, but it's here.

I'm hoping beyond hope it will actually improve things.  I really am.  That would kick serious behind.  But I'm not stupid or naive enough to hold my breath waiting.

*snip*

When have you ever played a game that wasn't patched? When have you seen a 30 GB software product remain at version 1.0?

You don't even know what beta testing is. If you don't even understand the basic concept that a 1000 (typically more) willing players can detect issues at a much faster rate than a few dozen (even less) Q&A testers, then you also don't even know basic probability.

And now we have the chance to actively participate in sorting some of the issues out instead of passively hoping for the best. It's a rare opportunity and a good thing they're doing.

Who knows how much feedback will be taken on board. Worst case scenario is that the lucky ones have a hotline to the developers
