Well, to each their own. I enjoy the game for what it is. It's certainly different from its predecessors. If I'm in the mood to revisit a specific feature (such as in depth tactics) I just boot up the game that has it. For me, I prefer to focus on the good things coming (such as the CC, which does matter to me, though I understand it's of differing import to different people). I can understand the desire to see preferred features make a come back though -_- I hope in the future, as Bioware gets more skilled with using Frostbyte, they make a return towards a more complex tactics system. It seems like something a lot of people prefer (myself included). I suppose we shall see, though.

Well if you understand me and do prefer the more complex version of a RPG with tactics, many more skills, deeper gameplay and so on ...

Don't you miss that ???

I really try to let BioWare know what I am passionate about. They were NEVER known for making "simple" RPG's ...

Only since EA came aboard did they change that. Da2 got a hell of a lot of backlash ... Nevertheless do they try that again!

RPG gaming is the genre of complexity, nuance and so on! Nothing in the world is ever gonna change that!

Indeed. But I'm hoping they've seen the feedback, and will look into including it in the next game. I don't expect Inquisition to change a whole lot now, since it's out and everything, but hopefully in the next DA installment, they'll take as much as feedback as possible with the system, and implement something a little more tactical again.

I do understand you and I am happy for you that you can stay so relaxed :D

But I personally have the gut-feeling that the BSN-forumites will have to fight for it! For every little feature! No matter how small ... no matter how self-evident it may be for a RPG to have this ... feature ... they fight for.

I really do not mean to make this bigger than it is, but I see it very diffrerently than you do. And I am far from alone with this point of view. Many forumites are just as concerned as I am - believe it!

I've definitely seen how passionate lots of the forumites are ^.^ and I hope that passion is rewarded

Well we "rant" a lot because we care deeply!

But I would argue that BioWare knows us well enough to know this.

The question is ...

When will companies like EA begin to understand how this RPG-genre works and the fans who pay the bills (and buy all the DLC's ...) really think and feel about it! We love BioWare and we love RPG's ... Does EA also?

Take care, Winged Silver!

I don't understand why the patch on PC has to be "tested" in closed beta before deployment to be honest. It's not an MMO (well not an "online" anyway...), and you can patch on PC very easily. Instead of making a huge patch every 2 months and then having to 'close beta' it, it is much more beneficial to release small patches every week. You will break less stuff and fix more, and unless they have set up an incredibly dumb and convoluted VCS, it should be easy to deploy as well.

If their reasoning is that for consoles this isn't feasible, well first of all consoles don't have as many problems with this game as PC does, and second you can collect several PC patches into one for consoles and have a separate group of people test that. You will still end up with a more efficient development process with an agile model like that. It's a lie that big companies can't follow agile models, I mean look at Warframe developers. They only develop for PC, sure, but they develop an always-online multiplayer game on the other hand.

It needs to be tested because previous patches have required another patch to fix them, leading to much upset. Beta testing a patch on fans allows for a diverse range of systems and people doing things that the QA team would never think of to do or dont have time for (like Jumping around for an hour) as the Black Emporium is adding many fan requested features that the base game did not have, it makes sense to get it working right.

The NDA is so that people don't go blabbing about bugs or features that could get people complaining about which distracts from the fixing. The description of what the black emporium dlc brings to the game should make everyone excited that its being tested out of bioware as that means its a shorter turn around.

I think a lot of that passion will be rewarded, probably not all and certainly not all in one patch but, it's getting there. :)

As for EA, it is, like ant game producer, a for profit business and, not every EA employee is equally customer friendly or concerned but, there are some good people over there. I've had some great experiences and, some not so good experiences dealing with them on various EA/Origin games. In most cases, you do need a good dose of patience and, have to do the things you've already tried and, send them proof of the results, but eventually they do try their best to help you. People just get annoyed when it doesn't go as fast as they want. (One issue I had with them took nearly a year of back and forth to solve, but we solved it for myself and, for a lot of other players too - another game, not Dragon Age.)

It's likely that not all of the fixes that are tested will be implemented. After testing, they might realize that a fix won't work correctly or will break something else. They don't want to promise a fix that can't deliver, so the fixes and updates will be announced with the patch notes, when the patch is released.

So will this be available for all consoles after the beta?

Hope that it will! That should be the goal, right?

BioWare ... please!

Don't discard your console fans. You must release this for consoles too!

I am hoping that it wont be really long wait cause I really want to finish my Male Human Templar Warrior PT and in truth I dont want to make a bunch of new saves that I wont be able to play either so I am hoping for an early March release on this Patch.

I think March is a pretty good estimate, having in mind they closed beta signups more than a week ago, and that the content itself is likely to be more or less finished.

I'm guessing not much later than mid-March.

And I want to restart my Qunari Mage build on Nightmare (tried on Hard, but it was getting pretty easy pretty quick), but wanna do it in Patch 5. I'm tired of being paranoid about the stats of Fade-Touched materials being the correct ones, or if they're gonna be nerfed anymore in the future. Hope the testers give a look into them.

Urgh, the Pride demon at the beginning is gonna nail me for good, I just know it...

Yeah I hear you I want to finish my current PT and start my next ones but as you said I want to do so with Patch 5 thus not having to worry about getting held up by some BS I love DAI but at this point its broken.

It has everything to do with it. If there is no fix for it in the patch then we should organise an uproar, glorious boycott or something - after all we, consumers matter and BioWare is listening to us all the time. Overwhelmed by our unity, tears of honesty and will to fight the good fight, they would beg us to accept the fix!

Now, we don't know how should we react, we have no informations about the state of patch. We were stripped off possibility to expresss ourselves in its true, clear meaning.

We are in the dark, suffering from fears and relive traumatic experiences of DA:I launch. In fact, I consider myself DA:I launch survivor.

This doesn't make sense. Whether your elf fix is in the patch or not, your next move is exactly the same, and it will stay the same until either the fix gets in or Bio declares that they're done with patching and it's never going to get in. Of course, you could just sit there and wait in silence until the patch is actually release, but why would you do that?

Nope, that's a sarcasm attempt. Alan should be on a PR payroll, that's why each and every comment of his goes like 'game is fine, stop complaining and watch the game being great, your opinion is insignificant if you don't agree game is a diamond' and so on. Not a single constructive comment. Ever.

How do I know I am able to install the beta patch or that it has been installed? I signed up for it in Keep the day it was possible and all I can see is Unreleased Beta placeholder in Origin. I also have Origin set up to ask me before it starts installing anything and I haven't been asked since the release day of the last official one.

Or I didn't miss a memo and it is still not out yet... ? :D

Well, I can't speak for all of his comments but the one that you're referring to was questioning the point of going nuts if one's particular bugbear isn't sorted in the next patch... i'm not sure that counts as 'not constructive'.
