Still no fix to Cullen getting lost forever in Skyhold?  Good grief.   I am a little disturbed by this list.  There are almost no fixes to the worst of the bugs I have been reading about.  Is it because beta testers are not finding them or because Bioware doesn't have a fix for them?

Perhaps they can only do so much at once and, we'd rather have some improvements fast than wait longer for all of them to be done. Simple get a few things fixed or improved every month or so, or wait 4-6 months with nothing for one big patch - which would you like better?

Well my game was f*cked up since patch 3 and others since the game was released, so in my case/opinion I would have liked them to take there time on one big patch

Well of course, more frequent fixes of anything is better than waiting half a year for anything at all.

However there are a heck of a lot of buggy quests and this list addresses exactly one of them.  I'm very curious as to why. How are these things getting prioritized I wonder.

Well, if I'm going to have to pay to get access to tool that helps me fix appearance of my character, I'm definitely not going to be happy - it's one of features nobody should be paying for. However I assume that BE might be part of free add-on, while most merchandise in the shop - as well as maybe new hairstyles or other things - might be something added in separate DLC for which we'd have to pay for.

My guess is that the team taking care of the game post-launch is terribly understaffed with a small budget, since EA and other major publishers don't care much about the game (unless it is a multiplayer title) when they already have our money. The vast majority of the DA team was moved to different projects.

My other guess is they prioritize the most easy fixes, so they have something to put on the patch notes.

Black Emporium probably needs some more testing before getting released as a DLC. The patches meanwhile seem to make the game a little bit more stable. However, fixing exploits again is just meh.

I missed the opportunity to sign up for patch 5 beta, so yesterday I signed up for patch 6 beta.  To my surprise, the patch 6 beta is already available for download and is downloading as we speak.

Does this mean it will not have patch 5 in it somehow?  Is this not odd?

And where are the patch notes?  Can't find them?  Thanks...

Well there is nothing wrong with grabbing the low hanging fruit first, everyone does that.  I'm still concerned by  both the length of the list (short) and the content.  I hope you are wrong about their resources, but suspect you may be right.

What I thought The Black Emporium was apart of Patch 5 or was that B-Ware messing with us?

After I read the Patch 5 Patch notes, it at least appears that The Black Emporium will not be released as a part of Patch 5.  If that is the case, then it makes no logical sense to include The Black Emporium as part of the Patch 5 Beta.  Perhaps Bioware means to reward Patch 5 Beta testers with an "early look" at The Black Emporium.  While that is certainly nice of Bioware, it is entirely possible there will be bugs / issues as a result of Patch 5 and that (at least some of) those bugs / issues could be attributed to The Black Emporium.  By including The Black Emporium as a part of Patch 5 Beta test, Bioware may be unintentionally making the Beta test more lengthy / problematic than it needs to be; especially if Bioware has no intention of actually including the Black Emporium as a part of the official (read: non-Beta) Patch 5 once it is released.  However, if Bioware does actually intend to include The Black Emporium as part of official Patch 5 then it does make logical sense to include The Black Emporium as part of the Patch 5 Beta.  Personally, I hope Bioware does include The Black Emporium as a Part of the official Patch 5 and amends the Patch 5 notes accordingly.  Perhaps that was Bioware's intention all along, but Bioware doesn't want to get our hopes up and promise The Black Emporium (in official Patch 5) and then end up not being able to deliver on that promise, due to technical issues...

Or perhaps it was never planned to be released as a part of patch 5. The blog on it never said it was going to be released with patch 5, only that it would be tested with patch 5.

Feels like bait and switch to me, thrown out that as a new and shiny to try and calm the angry masses.  Hope I am wrong.

Yep, nothing wrong with squishing the few easy bugs first, but when patch notes have been comprised of only those and completely skipped the major issues it is somewhat troubling. I honestly hope they are saving them for the big patch 6. I don't care about the Black Emporium or even the game as a whole anymore, but I am curious about the patch nonetheless. It will show if BioWare care and listen like they claim they do or just pretend to and we should be more careful with purchasing their future games.

Well, when for example someone tells you PC controls will receive a major improvement in the next patch you are trying to be patient for some time. It would have been easier if said promise hadn't been made in december and since then nothing has changed and you have no idea when or how or even if it will ever be.

True, but it doesn't make logical sense to include The Black Emporium as part of a Patch 5 Beta (if Bioware never actually intended to include BE in official Patch 5), for the main reason I mentioned which is:  Bugs / issues could result and some of those could be attributed to The Black Emporium.  Basically, don't overcomplicate the Patch 5 Beta by allowing people to Beta test a feature you (meaning Bioware) already know isn't going to be in official Patch 5...

Fixed a loot exploit.

Great job, BioWare, that issue should have been fixed a long time ago, since it is a very serious one!!1!

Yeah, I said that as a joke in another thread, but honestly it would not even surprise me if Black Emporium turned out to be a microtransaction store where you are able to buy rare mats and schematics for real money :D :D

It might have been nice, seeing how many people on the forum (and elsewhere) apparently misinterpreted the message to mean Black Emporium would be included with Patch 5, if Bioware would have maybe cleared that up earlier.  Seems like wonky wording, intentional or not.

Hopefully not too much longer for that--waiting to start another play through until that bit comes through.  Not so sure how I will feel if it ends up being a micro-transaction; guess I will emotionally cross that bridge when and if the time comes.

It seems kind of silly to offer a special incentive to join a beta. Why would it be hard to recruit people to play a (hopefully) better version of the game?

The Black Emporium should have been in the game at release and now we might have to pay for it B-Ware really needs to clarify this BS.
Now if the Black Emporium adds new Customization options then and only then will I pay for it but if not no thank you.

Well, I was just speculating as to one possible reason Bioware would include The Black Emporium as part of the Patch 5 Beta test, if Bioware has no actual intention of including The Black Emporium in the official Patch 5 when it is eventually released.  Personally, I have Beta tested a few actual games pre-release (FFXIV online and Destiny are two that come to mind) but have never heard of a Beta test for a Patch.  Also, I know of incentives being given out for playing a game demo.  For example, it was possible to get Commander Shepard's N7 armor set, for use in Kingdoms of Amular: Reckoning, if you played the Demo .  Likewise, you could get some KOA: Reckoning items in ME3.  As far as your second sentence, the operative word is "hopefully".  However, I am sure you are aware that several patches have required a hotfix.  I don't play on PC (I play DAI on Xbox 360), but would at the very least backup my save files (which I assume is possible) prior to allowing the Beta Patch 5 to be installed.  Hopefully the Beta Patch can be easily removed if something were to go horribly wrong.  Since there are at least potential issues with Beta testing a patch, I don't think it is too far fetched to conclude that Bioware may be intending to give Patch 5 Beta testers an "early look" at The Black Emporium, as an incentive or small reward for being a Beta tester.  I realize that it is also possible that isn't the case...
