So glad to see some positive wave on these boards for a change.

And all it took was a little communication  ;)

But yeah, still awesome.

I suggest we all bookmark LadyAshe's tumblr as she always seems to get some scoops before everybody else.

Wait for an expansion where there would be tier 5 and tier 6 items... :P

I would reasonably expect that to be paid DLC, if they went that route.  Maybe a higher-difficulty expansion post-ending, where the increased tiers would be useful.  As it is I can obliterate anything on Nightmare with Tier 3...

Being able to tint the Inquisijammies would be nice, yes.

Due to a mod, my human male IQ, has on jammies with mabaris on them and it makes me laugh every time I see him. Esp when he's in the war room being all serious or better yet, judging people on his throne.

Maybe that outfit is why Viv hates him so much.  :P

Can't wait to see mods where people replace Varric with a Mabari frame

Only thing I was waiting for was improvement on party AI and tactics. I did two play throughs (two hundred hours ) of micro managing so unless they fix that aspect, I would not play more of this game.

If they say its the largest patch then there's likely to be a lot of stability and/or QoL changes as well as the highlighted ones. Looking forward to this.

Well hot damn. Color me impressed.
Inquisition is damn impressive on it's own. And to see Bioware really listening to what fans want from the game is a huge step in the right direction for them. I mean, these features are some of the most heavily requested ones, and The Black Emporium? Hell, that's straight out of these very forums!
And to release new content and cool fan-requested fixes and features as a patch, and not as paid DLC? Just how long ago was it that such a thing would have been utterly unbelievable coming from Bioware?
Dare I say it, I think Bioware is reformed. :)

Rock on, keep 'em coming.

I like the color tinting ability. Before I intentionally chose a weaker element to craft my armor only because I loved the color so much (wish I remembered the name of it). If I'm going to spend so much time looking at these characters on the battlefield, I might as well pop with style. B)

Hmm, I should be excited about this, it is a new DLC for one of my favourite video game franchises and the first actual step to improve a game that needs every improvemenet it can get. Plus BW so far has had a pretty impressive record when DLCs are concerned. Only very few were a bit disappointing, while others were either awesome or at least very good. But boy, has this game made me bitter, cynical and skeptical about anything new from BW / EA.

Whether in person or online, we firmly believe in collecting feedback and working with our community to ensure we’re addressing issues important to both new and experienced players.

For Dragon Age: Inquisition, we’ve developed a faster and more compressed patch schedule than any prior BioWare game.

This oozes so much PR bull**** I honestly dont know if I should laugh or cry.

Kristen-Bell-Laughing-to-Crying.gif

Yeah, I really can't see the "faster" and I don't know what to think of the "compressed", any ideas? The patches certainly seemed "compressed" as in they fixed very little.

And then we have this from another interview:

Flynn stated that focusing on a single platform first will allow them to work at a quicker pace. Releasing DLC on the Xbox One ahead off other platforms “helps us get content out earlier than we normally would,”

I... I just... nope, I really don't know what to say about this. Does this mean that PC players get the privilege to beta test patches for free, so DLCs can be released on Xbox One first? (Btw holy **** how much money has Microsoft spent on timed exclusives in the past year? They are all over the place)

The focused beta testing is certainly nice. Though I really don't know why something like this couldn't be done earlier, like at least since patch 1. Well, we all basically have beta tested every patch so far, even the base game, but you know, it was a bit disorganized. I hope this helps to bring patches that will actually patch stuff instead of breaking them.

Don't get me wrong, I am genuinely glad it is starting to look like they are actually doing something, but I will believe it only after I see it.

EDIT: Btw I can't shake the feeling that the Black Emporium should have been in at least the deluxe edition of the base game (or should be given for free to at least those who purchased the deluxe edition). The bonus content for extra 10 USD / EUR felt really weak and it was actually the first DA special edition that didn't include any free DLC (I am not counting one of 21 thrones or one of x mounts, that is really nothing).

Wow! Bioware is fast becoming my favourite game developer ever! Listening to fan feedback (even though it can be rude sometimes) on top of adding story DLC. So excited. I would only request that we get a few more hairstyles in the Black Emporium. Anyway, I love this game already (art, music, story, characters - all top notch and beautiful). This just makes it perfection. :) I think it's only fair PC players get to test first since the controls for PC were so monumentally wonky. I know there was a lot of issues on the 360 too but really they shouldn't have released it on 360 and people should upgrade to next gen (or, preferably, PC heh) if they can, otherwise games will just be held back from their potential. Just my two cents. :)

Hopefully with these new schematics they add some mage robes, Tevinter-style ones and Circle robes!

yeah mage is my favourite class as well but I'd imagine that all the classes will be added too I I can't see them just sticking with favouring one class. I like a lot of the mage robes already. Found some elf ones that looked good to me in my first playthrough unfortunately wasn't playing as an elf so couldn't use them. Planning to do a second run after I'm finished with my latest ME playthrough. After I've set up a new world state through DA Origins and DA2 that is

Wow, thanks to Jeffry I just remembered Xbone is getting the DLC first.  So now I have to wait even longer for DLC that has to be beta tested on a platform that I'm playing the game on.  Which makes absolutely no goddamned sense.

Thanks Bioware for your greed.  Thanks Microsoft.

Thanks Obama.

So... when they are going to address the "No tactics" and the pointless rewards of side content "power and influence BS" , the "only 8 skill slots BS" are they even going to touch those things?

They can add all this minor touches to the game all they want but if the core of the game is trash then is a pretty trash, but trash still.

At BioWare, we’re always looking for new ways to empower our players. Whether in person or online, we firmly believe in collecting feedback and working with our community to ensure we’re addressing issues important to both new and experienced players.

AHAHAHAHA

Oh man

that's why this game is still massively broken on Xbox 360 and PS3?

Because they were listening to the fans that everything is working for!

My bad!

They also aren't addressing the mouse binds like first stated. Apparently basic game design and programming is too complicated for the devs working on DA:I.

Damn this looks great, finally some light at the end of the tunnel.

If they can remove the crashes, stutter and Chat lines missing this game might be worth starting over again!

Note: A previous version of this post incorrectly stated that rebinding mouse buttons would be available in the patch 5 beta. Unfortunately we were not able to get this feature into the beta, but are working on it for the future. We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused

Cross fingers and toes the PC optimized issue is finally addressed with this patch or patch 6???

Thanks Teddie for putting this up.  You made my evening, good sir.  <hat tip>

Some of these folks are acting like this is a comprehensive patch list, and that this is all they are working on.  We don't know what other fixes could be a part of the patch.  They mentioned the parts that they could talk about, and something that many fans (not just on the BSN) have been requesting.  I'm also going to try to sign up for the beta, because I want this for everyone and I want it to work right.  I signed up for the Keep beta for the same reason back last fall and tested the crap out of it.

Sure, mods are great, but I'd be happy to test this out so everyone can enjoy it.  Last I checked, neither sympathy nor a sense of fun was a zero sum matter, at least for me.  I have plenty of both to go around, and this is something I've been looking forward to for months.  I've got friends here on the forums that play on console (both current and old gen) that have been sadly looking towards the PC gamers and our chances to mod.  I think it's easy to forget that, in this bullshit of "Us vs Them," that we're all big enough fans (or ex-fans, in a few cases) to be here.

I know this is nutty, but with a patch this size, they could be working on other issues as well.  In order to get this implemented with as few issues as possible, I'm betting the older gen console issues will get worked on.  I know that it's frustrating to not hear about any fixes yet, but why get negative in a positive thread? Chill out and enjoy some good news already.   Or at least go into the 25-30 active threads that are negative (for good reason in some cases) and go be angry there.  Here, I'm going to be happy that there is a featuring coming which all of us can enjoy.
