Alright you do better. Let us know when your game comes out and how many goty awards you obtain afterwards. We will be waiting.

I don't have to do better, because 99% of game studios out there have already proved this is an easy task. Including the old Bioware team members which has since moved on to other studios.

Thrilled to be getting party storage given how much time I spend micromanaging my inventory.

The ability to change your inquisitor's appearance post character-creation is also a big plus since it's difficult to get a good sense of how they're going to look with different lighting and facial expressions. I made one inquisitor who I thought looked pretty good until she changed expressions and her eyebrows seemed to be melting.

Some of these folks are acting like this is a comprehensive patch list, and that this is all they are working on.  We don't know what other fixes could be a part of the patch.  They mentioned the parts that they could talk about, and something that many fans (not just on the BSN) have been requesting.  I'm also going to try to sign up for the beta, because I want this for everyone and I want it to work right.  I signed up for the Keep beta for the same reason back last fall and tested the crap out of it.

Yes, we don't know what else might be included. But when someone tells you they perfected their patching and it is now better than ever before, yet the actual results has shown the complete opposite so far, well, it is hard to stay positive. It is good that they are apparently trying to make it better now, but this should all have been done before. They either should have hired more beta testers or worked with the community at least since day 1, because don't tell me they had no idea about the state of the game in which they pushed it out. They had to know what wasn't completed and what might cause problems, the game clearly wasn't polished enough, but despite that they just had to release it in november (both for a chance at goty awards and more $$). There will always be a time to fix the gamer later, right? But well, it is still better they are doing something that might be really good than nothing at all.

This is one of the lamest "arguments" ever :D Nobody has to create their own game to be able to point out mistakes in other games and offer feedback on what should have been done better or what should be done better in the future. Also whether all those goty awards were totally deserved or not is another story.

On the face of things, this is encouraging stuff.  I do have a few questions.

1.  This is labeled Patch 5, it presumably is going to take awhile.  Does that mean no other patches for now, while we wait for this big one?

2.  This XBox 360 player wants to know how long until we see it?

3.  It sounds like DLC but is labeled as a patch, which is it?

4.  Not sure what to think of the PC testers plan.  I understand that it is a way to portray that they are listening to gamers-if executed well, it will indeed do that, but for this release only.  It doesn't really resolve the main source of forum angst. All the current bugs and the anger around the lack of response from Bioware is going to continue unless Bioware starts giving some information about what is planned around at least the biggest of the bug.  The PR release for this patch does not seem to resolve bugs, it is more heavily geared to offering new stuff.  That is what PR pieces tend to do, so maybe bug resolution is a big part of the patch as well.  Hopefully we will have more information about that soon.  New stuff I am please to hear about, my game is not giving me any major issues, but I imagine if your game is unplayable, this Patch announcement probably is not anything that will excite.

I would just like to thank in advance the gullible suckers who try to help Bioware make more money off this obvious DLC polish the unfinished features to appease the angry masses - 4 months after its initial release.  In the meantime, since I have already managed to crawl throught this RNG bugfest once I will never be playing it again.  Afterall it took about 3 tries to actually finish a single section of this game and all the fun exploring was lost to reading guides and redoing things to try and avoid bugs. Now I know the whole thing by heart after just one playthrough too.

In the future I suggest you finish your game before releasing it, but nothing I say should matter I don't plan on ever buying one of your games again.  I simply don't have this kind of time to waste on bugs and half finished games.  So long and thanks for nothing.

How can they know at this point? They still have to test the thing.

We’re also including the option to adjust the size of subtitles.

Great, but what about the others fonts, and especially those that are even smaller than the subtitles?
People are unable to play comfortably because of it, and even enable to play at all (I am).

What's the point of adjusting the subtitles size, if most of the other text remains difficult (or impossible) to read?

Maybe this time around, testers will have the balls to actually report broken things instead of drooling over shiny graphics disregarding everything else.

Lol, who am i kidding.

They have a project plan.  On it is a list and a timeline.  Unforeseeen things can happen and timelines typically have some padding in them for that of course.  You're right, they can't and won't give us a date to expect this.  I would settle for coming spring 2015, coming summer 2015.  Some sense of when to expect it.

Unforseen like releasing a game with no mouse key binds on PC. Unforseen like not being able to properly control movement walk/run toggle... Seems to me it's calculated and not Unforseen. It's not like the issues with PC are subtle.

So their nefarious plan was to save a lot of stuff for patches --- ??? --- PROFIT? I'm having trouble following the middle step.

Oh, so content is being added to the game, not just bug fixes this patch? Come on, Lace Harding romance completion! *crosses fingers*

Sorry that last patch made me a very cynic fox.

Push the game out faster - shorter development time with less money spent - a skeleton crew can fix the game later or never. Intentionally releasing a clearly unfinished product is not ok, it is despicable. It is the same type of bullshit EA (and other major publishers) are doing nowadays. It happened with SimCity, it happened with Sims 4, it happened with BF4 (which even had its paid DLC postponed because of the terrible state the game was released in) and it for sure happened now with DAI.

This is a positive step forward to fix some of the issues with quality control feedback that will reduce many players getting patch errors. Thanks Teddy keeping up on the black emporium also, I've been hounding them on the quality control for a long time.

I'm also not surprised that the keyboard and mouse fix is delayed as its tied to a lot of com channel issues and should be the center of foundation repairs.  In that future patch the focus should be to make the disparate parts function as a seamless system and this will streamline the game system to better support the next generation games.

Thanks again

Seriously? You listened to fans on facebook and twitter clamoring about STORAGE / APPEARANCE / BLACK EMPORIUM

Opposed to the hundreds of people here who complain how their game is broken in someway or another ranging from broken skills trees and abilities. Busted banter [i've been hit 5 times now.] and various autosave/manual saves being broken and people beign stuck in main quests with key scenes not triggering.

Why are you pushing an old now to be recycled resource when you need to be workign on other more important issues?!

It's been three months and I now have two 60 hours files I cannot complete.

One from November and now one from February.

And not for nothing we cannot complain on your facebook because you delete the comments.

Hell, we cannot even insinuate that you game isn't perfect without being considered for deletion or having rabid defenders spamming and harassing us.

And a Beta? Are you kidding me? You are using your PC fanbase as the QA now? Are you serious?

Beta for BE and the patch 5? is this a bribe? here have some free DLC if you don't mind being QA.

This is wrong.

Xbox 360 and PS3 are still lagging behind in the being fully functional category.

So we won't see patch 3 and mini patch 4 either but we will get patch 5?

It's been 3 months.

3 months and now you are starting to patch the game all while giving us free DLC to continue us playing?

Well some of us still cannot play until you fix the broken main quests.

Oh, I get how fixing bugs never saves money. I just don't see how fixing bugs later saves much money. A little bit, sure -- time value and so forth. I can't put numbers on it without knowing Bio's projected ROI, though.

It's wrong to test patches? I mean, it's not like patches breaking stuff isn't a thing
