A decent blue bow that sort of paled next to the Griffon I got from a large chest just yesterday. And a +5 cunning amulet. So neither improves anything I have, but it wasn't trash.

Good old times when you would get a N7 weapon out of a promotional Chest...

 

I have more than 200k Gold saved, not because I don't need more Unique items, actually there are still many which I would like to have. But I just can't stand that Store anymore. That should tell how excited I am for this regular chest labeled as '"Gift" or whatever.

I could really use some sort of decent dagger.  When a lvl 23 common is your best after 500K gold, you get a little sad

Got a level 17 purple bow, perseverance, which is a meh, I have LotG, trepanners and tesarin, so not really worth it. I however did get Mage hunter in a chest or two after it, so booyah!!!!, paired with caliban and my lego and templar are even beefier

Pfft. I got a lvl 22 Slayer greatsword I already have one and a master rune. And I savaged both. The rest are crap.

That doesn't make sense, why would a store have a "FREE" section?

Stores are there to make money homie, not give out freebs.

This Matchmaker's Gift Chest (and the fact that is advertised on the starting screen) must be a way to attract Singleplayer-only people into the Multiplayer, which is something that Bioware definitely needs to do.

But giving a damn regular chest that will for the most part award random junk isn't the right way to do it.

A Jar of Bees was the very first item in my chest.

 

Followed by a lot of salvage and my third Perseverance bow.

 

Meh.

 

My commendation chest was a little more exciting. Finally got a decent dwarven waraxe again, after I stupidly salvaged my former one because I thought Serpent's Rage was something other than complete garbage. LOL So, my Legionnaire is happy to be wielding a weapon of his people once more!

I just started playing. Would someone please explain how I get to an in-game store to get the gift chest. I have no idea at all and do not want to miss it. 

 

Nevermind I found it in multiple player section.  So these are only items you can use in multiplayer, not your single player campaigns?

Load multiplayer, select a character, then click the big icon where it says something about MP Gift today. It's under the "Free" section, and should load automatically.

Nevermind I found it in multiple player section.  So these are only items you can use in multiplayer, not your single player campaigns? 

 

Correct. Everything is restricted to its own mode. So weapons and armour from SP will not be part of your MP manifest, and vice versa. You'll notice that the armours in MP, in particular, are completely different from SP armours, and have a much lower Armour rating. This was presumably a result of balancing the MP mode.

Nothing stellar in mine, nor in the commendation chest for the weekend. However, the first large chest I bought after those two contained Blade of The Red Birth. So I can't complain.
