Why can't they release it to all of their customers at the same time  . PC players shouldn't be their first priority  .

What? For ONCE, consoles aren't the primary platforms, and you have to be angry about it...?

Oh, come on...!

Damn well near every game these days is a console title first and foremost, with various successes in pulling the console game onto the PCs.

But when that changes for once, it's suddenly evil.

Damn, guys, I did NOT see that coming. Maybe you should be laughing instead.

Besides what has been said, patches and new content for consoles has to get certified by Sony and Microsoft, that take longer.

 

The best of this one is that it will be tested before it's released by volunteer beta testers, real, at home, around the world players. It will be less buggy, can't say zero bugs, even the best testers can miss something but, it will be a lot less problematic because of the beta program.

I know the option to customize stuff is awesome, but does anyone remember how awesome the Emporium per se was, in DA2? I used to be obsessed with deciphering the tiniest clues as to what the hell is going on (Answer = Slightly 4th-wall-ish way to weasel some random features in, but hey. Have some class.)

Game should have launched with this IMO - but I am still ecstatic either way!

 

Thats the reason why Im not preordering Bioware games anymore. Better buy bugfree "Game of the Year Editon" with all DLC's one year later.

I can't wait until this goes into effect.  I'd love to be able to participate in the beta, though I know it isn't likely.  The secret messages and armor tints alone could keep me occupied for Maker knows how long.  *sweats profusely in excitement*

@TammieAZ: They aren't releasing it to PC players, they're recruiting beta-testers from the PC platform, and if it works like the Keep, there will be 30K applicants for less than a dozen spots. But that isn't the reason they're recruiting from the PC platform.

 

Microsoft and Sony insist that software be thoroughly verified before console gamers can download it. That process takes weeks, and it's impractical while beta-testing because versions change every few days. If consoles were included in the beta pool, the testing would take months longer. There is no corporation regulating what PC gamers download, so they can update quickly and complete the testing sooner. It has nothing to do with wanting to appease PC gamers and everything to do with wanting to get the patch out to everyone as soon as possible.

 

When the patch is finally released, most PC gamers will be getting it at the same time as console gamers. The beta-testing pool will not be large, so most folks will have to be patient, just like everyone else.

I certainly hope there's some good schematics for sale. I took the 'Warrior Schematic' park and it might as well have been titled the "'Throw your Perk Away' Perk." All I wanted was one nice, powerful tier-3 one-handed sword schematic. What I got was a bunch of stupid two handed weapons and one crappy mace. I'd be nice to have some solid sword schematics for when I decide to play through again in six months or so.

I suspect it will be some time before we console players see it, but at least we know it's coming.

We were quite a lot more testers during the Keep beta. Doubt a dozen people would give you enough data to work with in the first place.
