I know Krogan's hitbox is extra big, making it easy for banshees to grab them. Does employing devastator mode do the same for the Destroyer? Or draw agro?

I don't play the destroyer usually, but I find the Crusader/HVB/piercing and the ROF boost make a really good combination, so I tried it out on glacierHazard/reapers/gold, and maybe I'm just paranoid (or need l2p), but I got skewered five times in ten waves. The rest of the team, zero. Dang banshees just chased me all around the map. They were even grabbing me through walls. That's my excuse, anyway.

Apologies to the team, but we did extract, thanks to a couple of good clutches. The Destroyer held up his end scorewise; it's a really good combination and a great wall hacker.

If you can't dodge, stairs are your friend. Banshees can't grab you unless you're on the same elevation as you.

Devastator Mode doesn't draw agro but makes the Destroyer dodge-less and very slow. So equiping an adrenaline module helps a lot when fighting the Reapers with him. And using slopes, as DisturbedPsic said.

Just don't use the Spitfire, unless you're nuts like me and Loufi.

And Hardcoresalmon. I could swear he was running in place when he did that. Pretty sure I walked past him while he was running lol.

Or do it, and be the first to grab the pizza. Preferably wave 10, in a Rio / Collectors platinum game. Fun guaranteed *!

*but maybe not mission successful.

This Rio / Collectors / platinum example comes from a real mission I played with 3 friends a long time ago. One of us was using a Spitfire Destroyer and, when we saw that the objective was object recovery wave 10, we all said at the same time "this is for you !". It was hilarious, a Spitfire Destroyer carrying a pizza without an adrenaline module looks like a 90 years old man using a zimmer frame. The best part is that he literally had to cross the entire map the two times.

We made it but I think that we had to use all our missiles. Definitively one of the most fun game I've had in ME3 MP.

Something about this thread made me lolalot. Possibly it's that I played the Destroyer recently.

And five sync kills to Banshees in a game? About the norm for a Destroyer, AFAICT.

Adrenaline mod or you just can't run fast enough with DM on.  And yes, Banshees love slow targets.  With DM on, you run a 8.0 forty; Banshees do it in 4.3.

I always put AM III on him because I like using the Spitfire. Also, stay on ramps.

DM is like a raging boner, once you turn it on it's hard to turn it off.

My advice is fire faster and run less. Spray your load on the Banshee's face.

Love for the QSol? SORCERY!

I like him a lot too. He's one of the only classes I think the Saber isn't total garbage on, although on-host that can be a problem with phantoms who randomly ignore being shot. :(

A sidenote: Does anyone else see the irony that, in a polar opposite of most games' bizarre fascination with this, the Destroyer is the only black human character in multiplayer but was made to be the least athletic of them all?

Probably my 2nd most used character. I've completed his 200 waves challenge 19 times and loved every second. He makes almost every weapon in the game good. Even the lowly Locust becomes an implement of of unholy destruction.

If I'm playing him on host searching U/U, I carry backup ULM Scorpion or Lolcolyte specifically for when fantums decide to ignore the fact that they were just shot in the face with a Saber. Off host, it is not an issue unless you have a low damaging automatic.

Yeah, I use the Acolyte on him before for that very thing, it's just a pain when I'm in the midst of downing a Banshee or Atlas and voila, a phantom comes in from right behind them and the handcannon of doom drops my shields before the weapon switch animation is even done.
