Gotta promote to try different builds.

perilous is easycake as soon as you get a weapon with real dps and a maybe 5% heal on kill (from ring or gear) (with the correct build)
I specifically don't promote except to redo my build cause you get TOTALLY out of control with all that extra crit chance and damage.

it takes so long to get gear, I generally play for a few hours a week and mostly that's just to get the weekend challenges done, I don't have gear but I have promoted a few chars, I don't have the time or inclination to spend hundreds of hours a week playing so I have far less chance of getting the gear, quick promotions is for many the only way they will get to the point of being able to not get one shot in threatening or perilous.
my first ever perilous game was last night, my lvl 12 aw (promoted once) in white armour with a lvl 12 unique staff clutched 2 waves it took forever to kill anything because It doesn't have the dps (until the first one dies and detonates triggering a line of detonations) but I managed it none the less, once I have every char card and promote them all 30+ times even in my low end gear that will be easy and fast instead of horrible and hard

Why promote? They designed it to be a grind. That's your replay value. It's your incentive to keep playing. Just wait for for them to drop the hook when you already invested in the game. You will bite, oh yes, you will bite. $$$

You assume much. I take it you didn't play ME3 given all your complaining?
That mode was quite successful, and in essence the store and the RNG is the same here.
Only difference is ME3 had weapon grades from 1-10, where as DAMP does not.

Na didn't play ME3. Heard lot of negativity towards that game.
Played the the first one. Was awesome. Second was ok. 3rd eh, pass.

Ah, well - you're missing out from a multiplayer experience.
But I suppose if you don't like how things are in DAMP, then they will not be much better in ME3MP
(Since it's the same basic principle, only in DAMP do we get something in multiplayer out of promoting)

I wonder what the soft cap is because I sure the hell ain't 100 lol ..... I highly doubt it but if there is you won't have to deal with me any more because I'll quit on that noteThere is a soft cap on the effect from stats after a certain point, I believe biower person said somewhere. Probably on Twitter.

You will always hit level 20 eventually, so why not promote?
Also, while it is true that promoting makes the game easier, it also makes the weaker classes more viable. I had one Perilous game with the Katari the other night after not having used it for several weeks and I was pretty comfortable overall, especially with the dps potential, and I think my 55 Cunning and 44 Willpower has something to do with it.
While I do agree that stats boost is not an ideal reward and I have said so since the beginning, it is in the game as a feature which is most likely not going away therefore we should make use of it.

BW did a good job of throwing in all the classes for you to choose to help make the game not feel stale. I usually play a few hours per day, more on the weekends and if I promote 3-4 guys a week going over to the next one still seems fresh each week. I don't see how some of you play the same guy over and over. Still BW need to bump up or create new content/capabilities to keep me interested. Bloodborne is on it's way after all...
I would suggest bumping the level cap to 30 or create a nightmare level (follow WOW model)
NEW DLC-Maps
Better crafting/more options/more flexibility/armor fix?.
Fix or better describe rings/accessories and what they do.
New prestige levels or in class rankings or GEO location rankings.
Treasure room reward system revamp.
Nerf AW - balance classes.

From what teh internets has told me, with enough promotions, Bioware is supposed to send me an "e-dong." I'm not sure what it's good for but rumors say it will make up for my personality deficiencies so that people of all genders will like me better.
Since my parents always loathed me, I was hoping this would finally give me the love that I never received as a toddler ![]()

Maybe you did hit the soft cap. It might work something like this....normally 1 willpower gives you .5% attack, maybe now after 100, 1 willpower gives you .25% attack.

It's quite a simple answer. It's because once you get top tier weapons and you can hold your own on perilous there's nothing more to do. It's a design problem with no longevity in mind but grind and promote to make it interesting.
Promote to try new builds. Eventually you know what works and what doesn't. With enough promotion some weaker build can become viable on perilous. (I have about 50 promos total, mostly in cunning and willpower)
Personally I don't care about leaderboard, my fun is when I bring a level 10-12 ish character in to perilous wth no cc skills. Once said character gets around lv 16 it becomes dull again.

To the guy who said you can't take a non promoted character...LMFAO!
Yes you can....create a new account and DONT PROMOTE....
Routine for me....6 arrows/4 sword hits I'm dead....
Threatening for me.... 4 arrows/2 sword hits I'm dead....
Perilous for me 2 arrows/1 sword hit I'm dead.....
Don't promote and the game wouldn't be so STUPIDLY easy for you....
