Thank you Bioware so so much.

In efforts to support different playstyles, we’ve also included the ability to bind additional mouse buttons, as well as an auto-attack key for single player. We’re also including the option to adjust the size of subtitles, and added a shader quality setting to the graphics options, giving players more versatility when running Inquisition.

I really hope I can bind it to my mouse!

One would assume the mouse bindings would function like keys and therefore can be mapped as an autoattack toggle key. :P

The way they worded it made me suspicious haha. I don't want to get my hopes all the way up then to realise it can only be bound to a key on the keyboard!

From the PC Concerns thread:

So, I have a bit of bad news. The rebinding of mouse buttons is unfortunately not part of the patch 5 beta. We know this is something the community has been asking for and are looking for ways to implement it in future. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

With regards to general questions, there are additional fixes in the patch 5 beta outside of the ones listed there, and we will provide a full list of changes to the participants.
The program has not opened yet for registration, but will in the near future. We'll put out an announcement once sign ups are open. It's currently only available to PC players, and I'm afraid I don't have any information on future patches on other systems.

But obviously, yes, you probably just read that the mouse buttons were out before typing a response. I understand that this is something that has been highly requested, and understand that this may be frustrating for some.

Might have to install the respective mouse drivers and bind keys through that for now. Most companies that make gaming mice have those features included.

It does seem odd though that when we map the various functions, we are restricted to just the keyboard and the mouse buttons remain unbindable without going through the manufactures mouse driver.

Still the auto attack toggle is a welcome addition.

Can we get extra ability hotbar slots, too, please? Eight is a ridiculously low limit, especially for completionists who end up with enough levels to slot at least 2-3 more skills.

Edit: STORAGE! Finally. And item tinting sounds good, too!

Yup. Kudos Bioware!

The flip side of course is that it is hard to justify why these very basic elements that have been there in a majority of their games were absent this time. This should be considered Bioware catching up to themselves rather than Bioware doing players a favor out of generosity.

Tbh this is something the player can sort out by themselves. Not that this is an excuse, not that this absolves the issue of why it isn't already fixed, but it is nonetheless something that can be easily worked around. I've rebound my thumb buttons to the K and L keys that are controlling slots that hold Spirit Blade and Fade Step and they honestly work just fine - if any feature was to slip, I'd prefer this one over something like the tinting items or the face changing.

A little mean spirited , as the move to Frostbite 3 essentially meant starting again.

Your case may make more sense for a successive game in a series on the same engine.

I would prefer to be pleased at these additional features than get wound up that these things were not available from the off :).

Yeah, hopefully the next DA game will include most of these updates since they now have the tech.

Sorry I didn't want to be mean spirited, more like bemused at the features the game came out without.

It's ok. I just think people need to start getting used to the fact that games are getting bigger and better and sometimes things have to be cut and added post-release.

I'd much prefer the game come out with all its features in at least a decent state, rather than have too many features that are underdeveloped.

That's exactly what happened to Civ5, except that case was so much worse because it's a strategy game. There's not much to go on other than gameplay.

After 2 expansions and a couple of patches that added more and more content from religion to culture overhauls, I'm still playing it and it's fun as all hell. 2000 hours so far. I think I got my money's worth even if I had to wait a few months or so for it to get somewhere.

Hasn't been in the majority of BW games I have played.  Origins, added post release.  ME...non existant at all (though ME 1 did have a unique way of handling inventory problems like this).  Which just leaves Dragon Age 2, TOR, and Awakening.   So that is four games without storage chests and three games with.  As for the changing character mid game, only in DA 2, and the armor tinting has never been in a BioWare game unless you count ME 2 and ME 3s version, but the systems seem to be so entirely different.

I think the assumption is that the content's previous inclusion in past BioWare games should guarantee their inclusion in newer titles.

Given that DAI was created from scratch with a new engine, I think the assumption is misplaced.

True on both accounts though I just...well its like the heavy weapons argument from ME 2 to ME 3 and some youtube poster who I rather dislike made the crack that the people would get confused with heavy weapons because they had the word 'heavy' in it, thus his explanation for why he thought BioWare probably changed that mechanic.  This story illustrates, I believe, how game play mechanics change all the time for the mot simplistis and weirdest reasons.  And besides, for some reason I never noticed the need for storage in Inquisition like I did DA O and A and 2.  I just sold all my crap when I needed to because I made sure my companions had good stuff....usually.
