Why you do not take care of the other language forums? Surely it can not be true that you can not manage to have a single article in the German feedback forum. Why, then, you have one at all, if it does not bother you, the dirt under your fingernails?

I don't think Bioware has many personnels that know germany though. I think it's good enough that they give information here in English. Well, actually they don't even do that often, they just have blog posts and twitter posts that you need to find sometimes, that's exchausting ^^;

English/TL;DR: We have a general communication problem on EA's side, but I can't see a language preference if you barely have any communication at all.

Your arguments in mind, yes they have a general problem but they don't even set a pinned thread up there in the forum so the people know; "We don't read this but you could talk about with others in your language."!

Now there is a subforum and there are still people posting and open new threats. That's hypocritical for us as "normal beings", they suggest us a really interaction and don't even mind we could take offence.

There are only two options:

They know what they are doing but they don't care. OR They don't know what they are doing or better, what they omit.

Both left one question behind.: Why should I pay the next Bioware game?

The term you're seeking for right now is language barriers. Language racism isn't a thing, my dear forumite.

I'm not sure if its the op command of English. But what he's saying doesn't really make any sense (2nd post in particular). Its likely no-one speaks German and the community managers for the German section aren't doing their job.

There is no community manager out there I have never seen any Bioware post which wasn't translated by a external studio. There is a big selection between the people speaking english and the others. I thought Bioware is different but it seems they are worse than Ubisoft. If you look into the German section you start thinking about the organisation of such an incompetent company. We are in our own filth and no one cares what we do there.

You got issues with the game, go to Answer HQ or try to contact them through their Facebook page. The BSN boards tend to be avoided by the video game developers as it has a toxic environment.

I don't use Facebook, MySpace or such services (except Twitter but not very intensive). They have boards and they ask for feedback. I hate the anglican bullshit "we say something but we mean it completely different". If they don't look at the forum they should say so, otherwise I use them and we deserve answers! They should do there job.

They don't look much this english/international forum either. There is just couple devs that post from time to time and they have made it clear that it's not their job, they are doing that in their freetime o.O

Did you even think about it for a moment before denigrating a non-native speaker for using a slightly incorrect but relatively common and understandable vernacular in a topic about language discrimination?

Just wow.

Language discrimination would be a better term. The language subforums are evidently even more neglected than this place is, but if it comforts the OP at all, Bioware doesn’t actually engage with the community here either. So they’re really just discriminating against people who have feedback or want to discuss the game in terms that don’t necessarily involve ‘OMG GOTY WOW’.

I'm a bit confused and don't quite understand (yet) what you want.

Why do you need a pinned thread to talk with others in German?

And hurray - we (the German forumites) have some more subforums now. This was something that we wanted and asked for. A short while ago we only had one or two DAI subforums, so I think that most of us welcomed the addition of a (technical) support subforum, the multiplayer subforum and one for spoilerish discussions. Why is this a problem? And opening new threads in said forums is what a forum is all about - to have some discussions. As I said, I'm confused 34.gif .

Although I agree that the forum is neglected.

The German moderator is called Draco Ordinis. If you have a problem with the forum, your best shot is to send him a private message. However, if your problem is that BioWare developers don't post in the German forum - in the German language - than... er... I'm not quite sure how you got this idea.

Some of the developers occasionally posted in the English forum but it was in their own free time. And they have stopped doing that. My take on it is that when someone from BioWare did post he/she ended up having an argument with fans. Which is really sad, because personally, I enjoyed the interaction a lot.

Be that as it may, I exchanged a private message with a German mod once, after DA 2 was released, and the mod told me that they collect feedback and pass it on. So, if you have feedback you want to share, you could still try the German feedback & suggestions subforum.

Bioware's forums existe for Bioware fans to discuss about Bioware games.

Bioware's forum are not the official media to diffuse Bioware news (sometimes it's tweeter, or E3, or other website etc).

Bioware people have no obligation to interact with people on their forums, and when they do it, it is out of courtesy.

You do notice the second line. Get your thoughts to the Bioware Community Team. which is usually the community manager with maybe some help from the moderators. The Bioware Community Team is not the developers. The Team combs through the feedback and suggestions. The team passes that information in a consolidated form to the developers for consideration.

The developers come to the form on their own volition not because they are obligated to appear. Also some of the developers read posts without posting anything themselves.

The forums are basically set up for gamers to speak with each other.

The other problem is that when the developers do post other posters try to take what is said as WOG. They try to agrue with the developers or attempt to insult them about why something was removed that they liked.

The BSN at times can be very toxic. I remember one of the writers made a comment about having a skip combat button. Posters were issuing death threats, calling for a firing and generally causing the developers not to engage with the community

The Community Team acts as a filter for the developers. .

Yes I totally agree with Efvie about my bad vocab decision, "discrimination" is the better word in this context. I do not yell about " discrimination" because its fun or to blame developers about their language skills!

I do blame BioWare to suggest "We listen to you." if the don't listen. In the english forum it is for sure easier to read and write if this is my mother tongue or my working language but as an international company with many fans and customers in countries with different languages it is or it should be a part of my customer service /task to take care about their wishes, or at least tell them, that we don't have enough "man power" to do this on daily business.

If they say: "Oh sorry man, we can't do this because our translator is out of service but we'll answer it as soon as possible." it would be o. k.!

The German moderator is called Draco Ordinis

Is there only one? If the answer is yes I think we should start a charity dinner for donations, oh wait I bought a game in pre-sell for 60€.

Some of the developers occasionally posted in the English forum but it was in their own free time. And they have stopped doing that. My take on it is that when someone from BioWare did post he/she ended up having an argument with fans. Which is really sad, because personally, I enjoyed the interaction a lot.

Also from my point, it is sad to hear that, they are human beings and I do understand completely, how they must feel.

Be that as it may, I exchanged a private message with a German mod once, after DA 2 was released, and the mod told me that they collect feedback and pass it on. So, if you have feedback you want to share, you could still try the German feedback & suggestions subforum.

This was years ago and if I write a feedback and see, that I and all the others get no response you just drop it. It is hard to believe there is a magical unicorn at the BioWare HQ which is collecting all the feedback we write down in the threads but it is not in the position to write a single post!

---
Why do you need a pinned thread to talk with others in German?

I see I have to clarify it. The day they had released the German forum.:
There is a person sitting in a chair and write the names of the new forums and this person don't even spend a minute to think about: "What why I should create a Feedback forum? We don't have a single developer with german-skills and we don't even have the time to work in the english forum to take care about our fans. So why should I create an illusion about the possibility of involving them into my working progress?

We have a community team?

I have never seen one of these.
