I'm more disappointed we didn't get Sigrun or Velanna. At least give them a cameo.

Maybe the Awakening Wardens are aiding the Warden in his/her quest to cure the Calling?

This is something that has been bothering me for awhile now. Leliana tells the Herald early in the game that both the fereldan and the orlesian wardens have dissapeared, yet from what I can tell the wardens we deal with later in Here Lies the Abyss are exclusively the orlesian ones.

Personally I like the idea that they went off to track the Warden down who is on a quest to cure the Calling, hopefully this is something Bioware will explain within Inquisition's DLC cycle. :)

I have a small hope that they are with the warden and we will get a dlc about their quest, where we play as our warden and finish their story.

Unfortunately, the gals (both who I loved) probably didn't show up because of how likely it is that they get lost.

Anders and Justice obviously survive (despite that Justice can try and kill you in the finale if you don't have PERSUASION!!!).  Oghran seems to survive no matter what.  Nate seems to have a pretty good chance of surviving, and thankfully turned up in DA2.

But Sigrun and Velanna?

If you leave them at the Keep and go after the city, even if the Keep is at it's best, Sigrun still dies.  Velanna's body isn't found, but she never is seen again.

If you take them with you, and then talk one or the other out of trying to kill you (Sigurn wants the Arch dead, Velanna wants him alive), their happy endings are still pretty hard.  Due to the bug in Sigrun's personal quest, her's is stupidly hard to get, and if you don't get it, she wanders off to the deep roads to commit suicide eventually.  You have to do her quest (which, buggy, grr!) and then tell her she has your friendship to keep her around.

Velanna, on the other hand... even if you convince her to kill the Arch, she blames the Warden and never forgives them.  If you do take her with you to kill Mother but don't kill the Arch, she eventually leaves in to the deep roads to find her sister.  The only happy ending seems to be if you don't take her down to see the Arch, and save Vigil's Keep, and I don't even know if you can do that- I've never seen her happy ending (the one where she decides not all humans are bad and stays with the wardens).

I think that they definitely should be in the Keep, because they're awesome, but I can see the fact that it's extremely likely in all their endings for them to disappear having some influence.

(Of course, Cullen basically loses his mind in all his endings, and he's there being not very bright in DAII and an adorable love interest in DAI.  And Justice disappears in all endings in dramatic ways usually around Aura (if not killed), but he's off chillin' with Anders in DAII no matter what, so we do know that endings are just rumors...)

I just had a thought:  I wonder if the Ferelden chapter of Wardens, minus of course any of the big ones from Awakening, died at the Conclave.  After all those were Wardens that Corphy used to capture Justinia and it was really before the whole mess at Adamant began and the ToSA was in Ferelden afterall.  It would suck...but again as others pointed out there is little reason to believe the Wardens we knew from Awakening were there since most of them went their seperate ways.

I like the idea that they (whoever left alive at least) are with The Warden. My headcanon before DAI was already that the Warden went on a quest to find a cure, so I was glad they went with that explanation for him/her. So I imagine they split up...Stroud went with Hawke to investigate the red lyrium, and rest went to track down their former Warden Commander, who was off researching the calling and had previously dealt with the architect, a being very similar to Corypheus, so it makes sense the Warden would be a good lead.

The HOF's rank might still be Warden-Commander but with all different ending they can have at the end of DAO:A I don't think they're the ones in charge of the Ferelden wardens anymore. But they could have got the band back together to go find a cure for the taint and the rest of the wardens retreated to Soldiers Peak when they all started to hear the Calling.

Its possible that the Awakening wardens who survived Vigils keep could be searching for a cure for the calling with the HoF, well nathaniel and oghren at least .

Sigrun and Velanna are effectively dead, from a plot perspective.  The fact that they don't get a mention in the Keep means the writers, at the very least, don't ever intend to use them again.  I suppose they could also be headcanoned into sticking by the HoF, since he/she probably won't be back in person either.

Nathaniel got to show up in Kirkwall, which was generally Stroud's stomping grounds, and since Stroud was recalled to Adamant with the other Wardens for the whole demon summoning fiasco, one would assume Nathaniel was as well.  Presumably he wasn't as opposed to the idea as Stroud was (or maybe he was just killed off camera, too)?

I'd imagine Oghren is off being Oghren, if only because that's just the only way I can imagine him anyway.  Personally, I like to think he's hanging with my Warden (as noted with S&V above), if only because I've kinda always seen him as the Varric to my Warden's Hawke anyway (even before I met Varric and Hawke, in fact!).

I personally think Velanna is alive and possibly seeking HoF due to the text in the warden's journal on the coast where it mentions the "Song of Andruil" one of the Elven Gods and since not many Dalish join the Wardens and it would make more sense than A-another being the journal's owner. I also believe Sigrun and Nathaniel are with her while Ohgren is either with his Felsi or the Warden.

They're not looking for the Warden, the journal entries refer to a 'him' even when you import a her. They were likely looking for Stroud/Alistair/Loghain.
