Is it weird that the only reason I don't play as a non-human race is because of the beige pyjamas?

I was really excited when I first heard that we would have the option to play as a Qunari.

Then I saw my Qunari wearing this....

The dwarves don't look much better either. I never play as an elf anyways because they're so anorexic, its hard to imagine them picking up a two handed sword. But yeah, the biggest reason I can't play as any of the other races is because of the PJs. I mean, they look fine in regular armour but they look like clowns when running around Skyhold. For some reason, I think humans look alright in them.

Does anyone else avoid playing the other races only because of this one reason or am I just being weird? It doesn't really bug me anymore as I've gotten used to it but damn, I still can't help but laugh every time I remember my Qunari waking up on that bed in Haven wearing this crap.

I think that if they removed the sandy color and made it red or dark blue it would change things big time

The bit of skin peering through the side looks slovenly, it would bother me too. Don't know if it would be enough to prevent me from playing the race, but to each their own.

Not when you're stuck on a ps4.

Yikes I thought male human was bad enough (my Inquisitor's buttons are just about ready to pop off), but that is horrendous!!!

Not weird at all. The PJs look silly no matter what (and HOW does the fabric cling to the undersides of a female Inquisitor's breasts like that?!), but on non-humans they're worse.

I'm debating an elf mage for my second playthrough, but ugh, I hate that "half-starved babyteen" look so much. Armor can make it a little less hideous, but those PJs? Yeah. Couldn't bear to look at it for a second. Hell, my human looks cringeworthy in them, too. She's supposed to be a warrior and badly needs at least twenty extra pounds of muscle on her so she'd look the part. I'd kill for a mod that let me use the human model for the elf, and a sturdier model for the human.

It's weird, yeah, but what's really weird is that BioWare's artists thought a beige pajamas-esque suit looked good. If BioWare wanted the Inquisitor's suit to look neutral, they should have used grey. Also, the design overall, sucks pretty bad. Who really likes clothes with squarish shoulders, anyway? I sure don't.

It's too rigid and stuffy looking - especially for male humans, dwarves and qunari. And not feminine enough for females (because it's almost not feminine at all). The suit Quizzy wears during Wicked Eyes, at least doesn't have the same exact same design for both genders... but it still looks bad for both.

Yeah, who knew they had Lycra in Thedas?

I don't think it helped that I played as a qunari first because it makes my human look even more scrawny in comparison. The elf is even worse though she needs to eat a few pies.

I'd like it if there were different body types for different classes. Warriors are broader with bigger muscles. Rogues are lean and toned. Mages are scrawny or they could be curvy/chubby but not muscular.

It's the clothing your character wears under armor. It's not going to look amazing on anyone.

I feel your pain OP. My latest two characters are stuck in Haven and will not be progressing to Skyhold until there is a console fix for this. It completely ruins immersion for me.

It doesn't stop me playing an elf but once we reached Skyhold I tend to ignore everything from the neck down as much as possible.    I can craft some really good armour that hides the worst of it and there is also good stuff you can pick up that makes an elf warrior/rogue look decent enough; being a skinny mage is understandable, but the fault does not lie with the beige PJs but the body model itself.

I have to admit that qunari looks really comical; I no longer think it is the elves who got the short straw on that one.

True, but only because this is Dragon Age... Or possibly BioWare.

You just need to play female qunari.  Now that's a woman!  Woof!

It's just not fair that Cassandra gets to wear some kind of casual armor all the time.

It reminds me of Star Trek. There are mods to change the look for PC players. However, it cannot make the Qunari head look in proportion to the body. The heads are too small.

The elf's are too skinny and tall. Skinny would be okay with me if they were not as tall as humans.

Always found it strange you can't edit the materials or colour for the Skyhold version but when it's under armour or a coat you actually can craft it to look different.

It's really odd they stuck with one default look that you couldn't alter when they had the mechanics to do so.

I personally like the look. A color option would have been nice, but it's fine.

If the PJs were tied to your armor coloring* or better had their own customization then only having those as downtime clothes may not have been so bad.

*eg. Leather slot colors the PJ boots. Cloth slot colors the shirt. Metal slot colors the buttons.

Well... I would love a grey shirt and khaki pants, but this isn't a modern setting like Mass Effect.
