I did 1 play-through as a dwarf cause dwarves are let's admit it, the coolest thing since sliced elf, but even their models are sketchy for me at least. They look badass being all stout and what have you ... from the waist up, then it looks as though I have bad circulation in meh legs or valuable nutrients are not properly getting to them, and the skinny jeans don't help at all, neither does armor. Elves suck so, not playing one of 'those' things and the qunari lost their coolness in this version for some odd reason, plus when I tried making one, they keep looking all the same so passed on them too. So human for me as well! We sit at the cool table anyways, cause humans are superior to all other races anyway .. pffft elves .. hah!
Is it weird that the only reason I don't play as a non-human race is because of the beige pyjamas?

They look a bit silly on everyone. They seem more skintight than spandex on both genders, I have no idea how the Inquisitor even moves around in those things.
Thank the modding community for armor in skyhold. I cannot possibly envision Quizzy receiving important guests or passing important judgements in skintight pyjamas.

There is nothing that would keep me from choosing non human races (aside from the game itself not having that option) but I do think the beige pj's look even worse on (male) Elf and Qunari inquisitors.

The pajamas drive me nuts. I don't know what the devs were thinking. Completely un-customizable clothing or gear is a big no-no. We went through that whole hissy fit with DA2, then they come out with some goofy looking mandatory pajamas.
Cmon Bioware, no one, not a single person on the team raised their hand and said "maybe the players won't like being forced to wear pajamas?" Not one person said that? Not once?
Good lord...

And then we're teased by that conversation with Vivienne about how we need to keep up appearances and distance ourselves from the common rabble and...nothing. Granted, if it had been Dorian and not Madame de Fer who'd been offering to coax some decent fashion sense out of the Inquisitor, I'd be decidedly more put out about it.
The fact that Dorian manages to wear nearly the exact same thing throughout the entire game (and manages to look great nearly all of the time) doesn't exactly help ease the sting of the awkward pyjamas...which I sort of have grown to appreciate for their awkwardness in a weird way. I actually have a bunch of screenshots devoted to random times the pyjamas made me laugh. Like Cassandra's romance scene or when I got this 'bug' and then figured out how to make it happen reliably:

My Inquisitor wears the tight clothes, but only so he can flex his muscles in an exaggerated manner and have the shirt burst off into shreds, revealing his glimmering biceps for all the girls in Skyhold.

The bit of skin peering through the side looks slovenly, it would bother me too. Don't know if it would be enough to prevent me from playing the race, but to each their own.
I think it's a belt, actually. It's the same color as the boots, at any rate, and the color doesn't change with skin color. I'm using this mod and it's a vast improvement, but that won't be the answer for everyone. Even if everyone *could* use mods, a lot of people object to them on principle.

I guess rather than PJs, that outfit is really long underwear and they look like it. My human should NOT be wearing only his underwear in public. ![]()

I was really excited when I first heard that we would have the option to play as a Qunari.
Then I saw my Qunari wearing this....
[SNIP]
The dwarves don't look much better either. I never play as an elf anyways because they're so anorexic, its hard to imagine them picking up a two handed sword. But yeah, the biggest reason I can't play as any of the other races is because of the PJs. I mean, they look fine in regular armour but they look like clowns when running around Skyhold. For some reason, I think humans look alright in them.
Does anyone else avoid playing the other races only because of this one reason or am I just being weird? It doesn't really bug me anymore as I've gotten used to it but damn, I still can't help but laugh every time I remember my Qunari waking up on that bed in Haven wearing this crap.
PLEASE watch what you say. That's not a word you should throw around.

It's just not fair that Cassandra gets to wear some kind of casual armor all the time.
An option to run around in Skyhold in your armour would suit me fine (since I'm on PS4 this time and am thus denied the wondrous mods). They let you run around Haven in your armour for the part of the game before going to the Hinterlands so I don't see why it would be a huge problem.

We get shiny new armor for the "proclamation of the Inquisition" cutscene in Haven. If Bioware wanted the Inquisitor to have a "signature outfit" like the companions have, why not that? Sure, there would still be complaints that not everyone likes that particular outfit for their class, but at least it would look significantly less out of place than the PJs do during, say, our "coronation" or the judgments or the triumphant return after the final battle.

Yep, female qunari look great in them. Honestly, I hope Bioware doesn't change them. I'm quite fond of the whole casual outfit thing in Skyhold.

I think I once saw Peter Tork wear something similar in an episode of The Monkees.
Anyway, I love that there's casual wear in Skyhold and I'm not put off by "the PJs," but I also wouldn't complain if there were different casual options, as well. Just no horrible Femshep-type dresses, please.

And if they -do- do them, let's not have them sit man style in them, okay? My poor femshep was sharing her privates with the world every time she sat down.

... perfectly illustrating my beef with the female Inquisitors' horrible posture and movements, ugh. When standing still she's all hollow-spined T&A and looks like she's about to fall forward on her face, when walking she slouches like a gorilla, and when running her arse sways left and right like her hipbone's about to fly off and conk out the nearest bystander.
