I learn something new everyday.

 

Didn't know about repute.fac. It explains why a player reported once that he found only corpses in a 16 Cygni town :wacko: . I just told him to empty his override. Now I understand a bit more.

 

Didn't know about the -home switch either. Sounds interesting.

It may be of further interest to know that in cases where the repute.fac does not contain the custom factions you may have created, the NPC will have his/her faction set to "Unknown faction".  When I've placed NPCs of Unknown Faction in an area, they act hostile.  Thus, a default repute.fac of the sort created with a new, blank module, in the override folder will cause hostile behaviour with any custom faction NPCs.

Updated to version 1.01 on both the New Vault and the Nexus.

 

Version 1.01
  • Fixed the conversation with Madjouline bug in the boathouse. 
  • Added a safety script, preventing the player to got stuck in the hammam. 
  • Added a safety script to ensure that Eyadou leaves at the right time. 
  • Fixed a sword +4 blueprint. 
  • Fixed Eyadou as Arcade Archer blueprint. 
  • New companions lines have been added for the end game. 
  • Dihya now can start as a Monk. 
  • Some typos corrected and 'slavist' replaced by 'slaver' as much as possible  :D.

Note : You may still experience some issues if you have entered the corresponding module already. In that case use the console commands (follow bugs, blocking situations link).

I'm stuck on the quest Berber Queen.
I have Dihya Tadmut & Ghanim Soda with me.
The farm house is cleared except for a door with a DC99 lock.
Is there a key somewhere?
Abu al Mujahir Dinar is dead on the floor & I get the loot symbol, but I can't loot him if he has a key.

Also I have a quest about oranges.
My journal tells me I have found two clues.(what were the clues?)
Who gave me this quest & what town are they from? (and where is the 3rd clue?)

Hi Olnorton,

 

Just use the mural torch to unlock the door.

 

You should have got the oranges quest from Anfa's young King. It is not mandatory to complete it if your prestige is high enough already. You still may get back to Anfa to complete it later on. One clue is got from the guy with the donkeys problem, one is found is the nearby house. One is got from a sick merchant in Anfa.

I must have missed that.
But I found that if I changed into exploration mode, I could talk to the bloke through the wall, kill him & advance the story without entering the room.

Well I had saved the game in Anfa (a couple of weeks ago) so I thought I might have got the quest there.
But no one I talked to mentioned oranges. (including the boy King) a case of "Listen carefully, I shall say this only once"
The quest title "who has stolen the merchants orange" had me talking to every merchant, but none mentioned oranges.
Perhaps you could leave the clues you find in the journal, instead of just saying "you have found a second clue 2/3"
and maybe who gave you the quest and what town they are from.
Not everyone can play the game in one sitting, and older blokes like me have trouble remembering when we come back to it later.

I also had a similar problem with a quest about finding a Carob plant.
The journal gave me a name, but not the town.
But I stumbled on her while looking for the orange merchant.
I didn't realize I had even found a Carob plant until I got the reply option, because it was called "Al Kharoub"

But I got to what I assume is the end of the game with only the orange quest left in my journal.
I got to the palace and he offered me his daughter for a bride.
I couldn't leave the town & there were no more quests to do, but I never got to choose a bride.
I had 212(310) approval with Hulal & only 106(189) with Dihya (who said she would be around for quickie's if I married Hulal)
Is there more to do?

I'm afraid the journal is not that dynamic. Registering the clues in accordance to the order they are found would mean many entries. It may be feasible for 3 clues, but would be a nightmare for 4 or more ... 

 

The oranges quest is started as soon as you introduce yourself to the young king. Wasn't it? I re-checked the conversation, it looks ok. 

 

As for information written on the journal, it's always a debate, some prefer all, some prefer more elliptic ones. Nevertheless I take your point.

 

In the palace just exit through the opposite side from where you get in (To building site).

With the old vault closed , I am not sure if this is the right place to post, but I just finished the Mod and would like to thank you for all your efforts. The Mod was fairly hard to get through, there were little clues to be had and the journal was sometimes worthless. For example I had found the slaves behind the hidden door but was unable to find a replacement for the herbalist slave nor could I find anyone to escort them. I also was unable to locate a "corob'(?) herb anywhere. I also thought the Mod needed  a lot more combat. But I still enjoyed playing it, and will try it again w/ a different character. I like how you always allow for the NPCs to be changed by multi -classing, most modders don't allow changes for the NPCs. I have always loved history so I really liked the historical aspects you put in. I had read something about the Hero of this story years ago and remember thinking what a remarkable man he must have been. I hope you continue modding  NWN2 and will be eagerly awaiting you next Mod. Out of all your work I believe that 16 Cygni was your best so far and I have played it at least 9 or 10 times ! Have you ever thought of returning to that world with a new story ?

Thanks for your appreciation. About the slave's replacement, you can find someone in the barn where the slaves convoys had been stopped. If I remember well, there are caroub in Buto area. You may also find some in shops.

 

Well, about 16 Cygni, yep I have started a sequel 16 Cygni : Strike Back, which takes place 60 years later. But be patient, I've just made the very first area and a few main companion models ...  :D

Hello. First post here.

 

I do love history. I played Sarmates! a long time ago and I loved it. As a citizen of modern day Al Andalus, I just love this mod too.

 

However I am stuck at Kairouan. I cannot leave the city to the new destination. I have solved all quests except for talking with the barrels trader. When asked how much water will I need I get the same option (I still don't know, haven't appraised it yet).

 

If I try to travel the game says I need to find more info about the Zulfiqar sword... ???

 

I am aware I haven't got latest 1.02 version and that I have Tony K's improved AI mod in my override folder, but the game didn't fail before.

 

Ideas?

Yes. I think he hasn't got anything new to say to me. I wil try again though.

 

I can confirm that I am trapped in an endless loop. I have tried exhausting all conversation options with my companions but nothing new happened.

Weird. Have you got the water assessment already?

 

In case talking with the guy (Safouane) does not make it ("Have you spoken with the mollah" line), I'll investigate more. However I'm not familiar with Kaedrin's pack at all; I doubt it comes from it though.

 

If you are still stuck, to unlock the journal through the console :

Hello.

 

I did the console thing and it worked. Merci beaucoup.

 

However, I am stuck again. When trying to leave Middle Atlas to Tétouan I get the "not with a teenager.." message.

 

If that message is refering to Haïna, I have already done that quest and it appears as completed in my journal.

Well, perhaps Kaedrin's pack or something else in your override is interfering. It means that either Adil or Haïna or both are still in the party. They should have left the party after your report to Samgu.

 

It seems that the proper script wasn't fired at the end of the conversation or was interrupted. Get back to Samgu's house :

 

debugmode 1

rs aa_remove_hench

debugmode 0

 

Both should leave the party and you can proceed to Tétouan.

You are right. I noticed something weird. When Adil and Haïna joined my party, only one portrait could be seen at a time. When reloading it was either him or her but not the two of them.

It's not related to 1.02.

 

Could be something in your override enforcing the henchmen limit more than the standard NWN2 engine does. I just put Haïna to the party regardless of the henchmen limit (and have the two portraits). Fortunately other henchmen will join until the end, but always one by one.

 

I will consider something more robust.
