1) I think her personality can be summed up as...
Cyrion (father): Still have your mother's smart mouth, I see.
Soris (cousin): Still casual, as always.
2) Throughout the game's big events:
Origin: Righteous fury and uncontrollable hatred when rescuing Vaughan's captives.
Ostagar: Eager to join the Grey Wardens since she felt it was a chance to show humans what elves can do when given the chance.
Flemeth's Hut: Felt horrified and betrayed by Loghain's retreat, saddened and dismayed by the death of Duncan and the other Wardens. Cut more disappointed since Cailan promised he'd look into abuses in the alienage, now where will we be? And also mostly sympathy for Alistair's grief since he knew the Wardens more.
Redcliffe: She helped the people of Redcliffe, and felt sickened to learn that Isolde knew Connor was the culprit and protected him while he tortured and killed his own subjects (and cut off the elven servants' ears and fed them to the dogs), and didn't seem all that concerned with the village. She felt Isolde using her money and influence to enable her little monster to torture his own citizens was no better than Arl Urian allowing his son Vaughan terrorize the alienage.
Broken Circle: Sided with the mages, since she saw the Circle as a re-skinned alienage, and the Right of Annulment as not so different from a purge.
Dalish Camp: Felt disappointed that the Dalish weren't "happy elves living in the woods" her father described to her, and disappointed that they didn't embrace her as a lost sister, but recovered well enough thanks to Lanaya and the people's politeness. Enraged to learn the curse was started and perpetuated by Zathrien, she was angry, since she firmly feels elves should help other elves, leaders should help their people. She also empathized with his backstory (his son was killed and his daughter raped by humans) since humans killed her fiance and raped her cousin, but as far as she's concerned as soon as your revenge starts to hurt your own people, you stop. She convinced him to end the curse and let everyone go on their merry way.
Temple of Sacred Ashes: Not particularly religious, but enjoyed learning about Shartan. Felt the cultists were dangerous and killed them, but spared as many dragons as possible since they're endangered and she didn't want to help along their extinction. (She herself is aware that elves are a minority that can disappear if too many get killed, don't have families, and/or interbreed with other races too much, so felt it would be hypocritical to hunt dragons.)
Orzammar: The political powerplay gave her a migraine, the double-dealing and backstabbing made her feel dirty. She started off supporting Harrowmont since he seemed like a good honorable man, but as soon as Harrowmont made it clear he had no pity for the casteless and would enforce the oppressive caste system (as she felt casteless were like Orzammar's city elves), she turned to Bhelen with a heavy heart since he planned to marry a casteless woman and loosen the caste system. She also sided with Cairidin to destroy the Anvil when he said how easily it would be abused. "Political rivals, casteless and criminals." No city elf out of her pointed ears could agree to a system or object that oppresses casteless.
Landsmeet: Loathed Howe for being the new arl that purged her people. Storming the Arl of Denerim's castle, fighting her way through hoards of guards, saving a woman in distress, and killing the Arl of Denerim felt very similar to her wedding day. Eagerly went home and saved her alienage from slave traders, but I imagine felt shaken knowing how close she was to losing her father forever (and grieved losing Valora, Valendrian, and others), and saw red when she learned Loghain had greenlit the slave-trading. She had held onto some hope that Loghain could see reason or be redeemed, but after that she thought, "He's going down."
Actual Landsmeet: Felt that glorious sense of empowerment of being an elf who had once scrubbed these humans nobles' floors, but now walks into a crowd of them and they part for her, the hero who has risen above them all. After centuries of her people's fates being decided by their decisions, for once they have to shut up and listen as an elf decides their fate. She was also enraged by Loghain's bullshitting, responsibility-ducking, and blame-shifting. When she called him out on slave-trading and he basically excused it by saying, "Everything I have done has been to ensure Ferelden's freedom," she thought, "We're citizens of Ferelden too! You're just like all the other nobles!" When she got the nobles to win over the Landsmeet for the Wardens, and Loghain shouted, "Which of you stood against the emperor when his troops flattened your fields and raped your wives!" I imagine she retorted, "I don't know, where were you when the Arl of Denerim purged my alienage and raped my cousin?!" The arguing quickly escalated into fighting, and she executed him partly to make him an example for hurting the alienage. She felt guilty later for killing Anora's father, and for taking revenge away from Alistair; but Loghain nearly sold her father into slavery, and hurt her people. Also crowned Anora because she foolishly believed her promise to help her people, and to spare Alistair from a responsibility he never wanted. (My Warden felt forcing him into a job he didn't want was no better than selling people into slavery. The throne would be his cage, and the crown his shackle. How could she protest humans denying the elves' opportunities for the lives they want, but deny Alistair the right to live the life he wanted?)
Post-Landsmeet: Reluctantly agreed to Morrigan's ritual since she felt she made a great point that Alistair would be crushed if she died, or would die trying to protect her. She felt she needed to live to spare her father and beloved grief, and she needed to live to ensure her people would continue to be treated fairly. After the battle, became Bann of the Denerim Alienage for just that.
3) Romance.
To keep it short, my Warden is not very sexual or romantic. All her life she just figured her father and hahren would choose a husband for her. (Since the alienage was filled with relatives, married folk, or people so undesirable no one would want 'em.) When she first joined the Grey Wardens and they made it clear Wardens aren't supposed to marry or have families, she thought, 'Okay, that's that.'
After Ostagar, she became mesmerized and smitten with Morrigan, but over time Morrigan made it clear she wasn't interested in her that way. My Warden was good friends with Alistair though, since they shared the same snarky sense of humor and knew what it's like to be treated like animals by unkind human nobles (she lived in a shack in the alienage by the Arl of Denerim, he had slept in the stables and kennels like a dog by the Arl of Redcliffe). She was very kind and supportive of his feelings though, so he fell fast and hard. He stuttered through his confessions of love, and she calmly reciprocated them since there was no one else she could be with and she knew her days in the alienage were over. I imagine he started off being her second choice to Morrigan, but she grew to genuinely love and commit to him for himself. Once Morrigan proposed the dark ritual though, those dormant feelings got stirred up since the two people she loved romantically (who hated each other) were making a baby without her present. What's wrong with this picture?
I'll try to keep this short... but my canon Warden is an OC I've had for 7+ years, so be prepared for rambling and lots of headcanon ![]()
Ridanu Surana is an elf mage. Born in the Denerim Alienage, spent the first 6-7 years of his life there before his magical talents were discovered and he was taken to the Circle. At first he was terrified; what child wouldn't be, under those circumstances? But he quickly settled in under Irving's gentle guidance, made friends, and best of all, he learned how to use his powers to help people. He has always had a knack for healing, and when he learned about the Creation school, that was all he wanted to study from then on. He looked forward to his Harrowing, to staying in the Circle and teaching others the skills he had been taught.
Then came the Harrowing itself. He was almost insulted at how ridiculously easy it was. Mouse was a little too smooth, a little too eager to help. It came as no real surprise when he revealed himself to be a demon in disguise.
And then came Jowan's escape attempt. Ridanu agreed to assist, mostly because he suspected Lily might be pregnant... but he still struggled with keeping such a secret from Irving. When Jowan revealed himself to be a blood mage, it physically sickened Ridanu - both the magic and the knowledge that his best friend had lied to him. He didn't want to leave the Circle, even to escape a punishment he knew he deserved - but Duncan insisted. Ridanu was willing to undergo the Joining, because he didn't view that as being true blood magic - he thinks of the blood as being only a component rather than actually powering the ritual.
After Ostagar, he reluctantly agreed to take Morrigan along at Flemeth's behest, though she ended up staying in camp a lot because he really couldn't stand her attitude of "survival of the fittest." (The only reason he gave her gifts was to get her to teach him shapeshifting and to free up space in the party inventory.) He took Leliana along because she was willing to help and because she came off as being a lot nicer than Morrigan in spite of her patronizing attitude towards elves. He took Sten along too, for a couple of reasons. One, because Ridanu identified with the Sten's sense of guilt and willingness to subject himself to punishment, though for very different reasons. Two, in spite of his size and strength and the things he admitted to doing, the Sten came off as an honorable, decent creature who was willing to work for his atonement. And three, in all honesty, Ridanu felt a tad outnumbered as the only non-human two-legger in the party.
Needless to say, after overhearing the gossips outside Dane's Refuge, the party's first stop after Lothering was Lake Calenhad to deal with the situation in the Tower. Seeing Cullen in his prison, then finding Irving so close to breaking under Uldred's control... those were some of the worst moments of his life. Even with Ridanu fighting severe nausea that whole battle, Uldred didn't stand a chance. After that, Ridanu was saddened to leave the Tower again, but he did so knowing that it was once again under Irving's control, and he was glad to at least be able to take Wynne with him. Apparently being an apprentice wasn't something he was quite ready to shake off yet.
From Lake Calenhad it was off to Redcliffe, by way of Zevran's ambush. This was the part that surprised me. Not the fact that Ridanu spared Zevran; his character has never been entirely cut-and-dried when it comes to justice, and killing someone he had no real quarrel with wasn't something I could ever see him doing. And it wasn't in him to just send the fellow off, either. That would have been tantamount to leaving Zev at the mercy of Loghain and the Crows, which, again, wouldn't have felt right to him. What threw me was that after their second conversation, he already wanted to protect Zev from anything bad that might ever happen to him again. I'd been playing him for 7+ years at that point, had him pegged as straight, and he'd been flirting with Leliana off and on since Lothering. The connection he felt with Zevran just went so much deeper. For me, it was a case of "I've been playing you for HOW long and NOW you tell me you're bi?" (Needless to say, he broke things off with Leliana before they got too serious, because by that time he was head over heels for Zevran and not at all sure Leli would ever accept him as her social equal.)
Anyway, after that, they headed to Redcliffe to save the village from the walking dead. Ridanu was surprised, and not too pleased, to find that Jowan was behind Eamon's illness. He didn't trust his friend enough to set him loose, and there was no way he was going to permit Jowan to do the blood magic ritual, so it was back to Lake Calenhad to bring Irving and the other mages for assistance. He went into the Fade himself, killed the demon, and left Jowan in Eamon's dungeon until the Arl recovered. Meanwhile, the party was off again, this time to Haven to deal with the crazy cultists. I imagine I don't need to tell you by now that they didn't defile the Ashes and they did wipe the floor with the cultists.
I forget at which point I did the Origins DLC (Soldier's Peak, RtO, Golem of Honnleath) but in my Warden's eyes, blood magic and making deals with demons are at the top of his list of Things You Don't Ever Do - so you can guess what happened at Warden's Keep and Honnleath. As for Return to Ostagar, Ridanu felt that Cailan may have been foolish but he still deserved a proper burning.
Nature of the Beast was a struggle for Ridanu, but he ended up convincing Zathrian to end the curse. He hated that the Keeper had to die, but it wouldn't have been right to kill either the werewolves or the Dalish, and besides, he didn't like the idea that Zathrian had kept important knowledge from him. At the same time, it was hard for him to blame Zathrian for wanting vengeance on those who had harmed his children.
About Orzammar, the less said the better. Ridanu ended up supporting Harrowmont because Harrowmont didn't ask him to lie or buy others' support, but the whole thing made him wish Morrigan knew something about summoning demons. Wynne and Shale helped persuade him to side with Caridin and destroy the Anvil, but the whole episode left him with a bad taste in his mouth about dwarven politics. (It did give him something with which he could favorably compare the Landsmeet and Amaranthine, though.)
Unrest in the Alienage... Ridanu was a city elf before he went to the Circle, his parents had worked for the Kendells, and have I mentioned that blood magic disgusts him? As does slavery. When he got through killing Vaughan and wiping the floor with Caladrius, the other elves were freed and there probably wasn't enough of Caladrius left to make a handkerchief.
The Landsmeet was a different matter. Ridanu refused to let anyone else fight Loghain on his behalf, and despite his anger at Loghain's selling elves and being allied with blood mages, he still almost spared the man. Because of what had happened in the Alienage, however, he finally realized he wouldn't be able to look himself in the face if he did spare Loghain. Deep down, though, he regrets that he executed the man. The aftermath of the fight showed him that there was still some honor and goodness left under that paranoia, and I headcanon that he later went to Anora and laid out his reasons in an attempt to get her to understand, if not to forgive.
And then there was the Dark Ritual. He wasn't particularly friendly with Morrigan, but he didn't want either to cheat on Zev or condemn his lover to a life alone, and having Alistair make the final blow would have been tantamount to murder. Al took a lot of convincing, and even now Ridanu regrets having twisted his friend's arm like that.
Cookies to everyone who read this wall of text, but that's my canon Warden in what qualifies for him as a nutshell.
I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.
Name: Cain
Race: Human
Gender: male
Class: Mage
Motivation: power/knowledge
specialization: blood mage/Arcane warrior/Keeper
Romance; Morrigan
Status: performed Dark Ritual/alive
Biography:
My character is not completely heartless, but he does what needs to be done even if it means going against established ethics, in order to gain the best results.
So when an opportunity came to gain more power, i'd take it. I didn't do anything for free and worked to achieve my goal (ending to blight) at any means necessary. most of the times rather than being good or evil i came out gray save for a few events; such as when i sacrificed would-be elven slaves in order to bolster my attributes; or when i allowed a desire demon to possess a child in order to learn the secrets of blood magic.
When i ventured to wardens keep i came upon a grey warden mage involved in the most delightful research!. after taking care of all the foolish demons who had forgotten their place i allowed this mage, Avernus to continue his research in order to advance my own abilities and learn how to command the taint more effectively.
Almost wrote a fanfiction with this, sorry
Name: Aedan Cousland
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Class: Warrior
What is your warden's personality/background?
How did he/she feel throughout the game big events?
When Aedan Cousland was just a young noble the only worry in his world was the day his parents were going to force him into marriage. Handsome, charming and a womanizer, full of confidence (coming across as stuck up), Aedan's only focused on getting laid, drink wine and fight in tourneys. He broke many hearts in his life of conquests.
Until his world turned upside down and he lost everything. Aedan was extremelly attached to his family, he loved them dearly and losing them the way it happened was a huge blow that he never recovered in his life.
He never wanted to be a grey warden before he was conscripted by Duncan. A 20 year old lad with a life full of freedom considered the life of a grey warden an imprisonment, however, by his father's last dying wish, he did just that, accepted and embraced completely. Aedan also thought that he owed his family that, and in some way as a punishment for leaving them behind and not die protecting them like he felt he should have done.
Aedan's spirit was broken, he was full of anger and pain, though he hid it so well. A certain someone noticed when cluelessly asking about his mother. In his eyes she catched a glimpse of the anger he held inside, but kept the thought to herself.
Still charming, his smiles were no more genuine and heartfelt.
Who did he/she romance and what were his/her feelings like?
Aedan and Morrigan felt the attraction since the beginning. He found her so interesting compared to the girls he used to interract with, not to mention absolutely gorgeous, he took every change to flirt with her, and was rewarded with equal flirting looks and touches. Lucky for Morrigan she had Aedan as the other alternative besides Alistair. After all, she needed to bed one of them. She didn't even need to think twice about it. Aedan was exacly the type of man she was attracted to. He was ruggedly handsome, confident, intelligent and daring. Also quite the flirt with every pretty woman they met. In front of her too, which left Morrigan livid.
The chemistry was almost overwhelming since the beginning, and they basked in it. They became intimate fast, but agreed they wanted nothing serious, just to enjoy each other and that amazing chemistry. That eventually changed to something so strong that it scared Morrigan. It took hold of her, and she was always in control of everything, she didn't want this, yet everything in her craved for it. For him. She needed to stay away from him. He needed her. She was the only ray of light at that point in his life. They fell in love.
When Morrigan offered the DR in the eve of the battle, Aedan was reluctant, but she gave him no choice. She offered a way out not only for him, but for Alistair and Riordan. What if they reached the archdemon first? Aedan was ready sacrifice himself but he didn't want Alistair to die for this, or Riordan who was a senior grey warden and more valuable to the dwindling order than he was.
She wanted his child. What if he brings an evil child to this world? He will never see this child. He will never see her again. What an evil woman.
He refused her first, then she considered Alistair. He wouldn't let her go to him. He ended up agreeing. It was either him or no one to have her. The DR happened.

Oh, thanks sleeping heart and line_genour, way to keep your answers short to make the rest of us look bad.
Fine, redo. To keep mine short:
Name: Shira Tabris
Race: ELF. City Elf.
Gender: Female
Class: Rogue
Personality: Playful, casual, nonchalant, sassy and smart-mouthed.
Motivation: Like I said, help the city elves (and other oppressed minorities like them) under any circumstances.
Thoughts: After killing Vaughan, she knew her life in the alienage was over (she'd either have to spend the rest of her life in hiding or leave the city), so she was glad for the opportunity to join the illustrious Grey Wardens to show humans what elves can do, and possibly use her position to open some doors for her kin. Since the alienage was the only world she ever knew before joining, it was through that lens she saw at all conflicts. Saw Isolde allowing demon Connor to terrorize Redcliffe as Urien allowing Vaughan to terrorize the alienage, saw the Circle as similar to the alienage and the Right of Annulment to purges, saw the castless as "dwarven city elves" and Dust Town as "Orzammar's alienage," saw Alistair being treated like an unwanted stray by the Guerrins as no better than her people being treated like animals by the Kendells, etc. She made the Landsmeet rain with human blood since Howe, Cauthrien and Loghain helped enslave her people, but ultimately didn't force Alistair to be king because she felt it would be slavery of a different kind. She lived to regret it though since Anora proved not to be helpful to her people in the long run; Bann of the Denerim Alienage or no.
Romance: Like I said, she fell fast and hard for Morrigan, but Morrigan was not interested in her that way. Since she was snark buddies with and kind to Alistair, he fell fast and hard for her. She's not romantic or amorous by any means, but figured, "Eh, I'm obviously not seeing anyone else and my life in the alienage is over anyway, so why not?" Over time she grew to love him too, but her muddled feelings came to a head when Morrigan offered the Dark Ritual and said Alistair must do it. The two people she loved romantically (who hated each other) were off making a baby without her present; what's wrong with this picture?
I'd try shortening mine up, but I'm not sure I could manage it. Sorry guys.
I'll give this a go, had about the same canon character since 2010. Had plenty of time to flesh her out. Not sure how long this will end up, I'll try to keep it somewhat reasonable. Maybe. :S
Name: Aerya Mahariel
Race: Elf, Dalish Elf
Gender: Female
Class: Rogue (Ranger, Duelist, Legionnaire Scout)
Romanced: Leliana
Personality: Bit cold on the exterior, has an exceptionally short fuse, doesn't talk much, (explains why she never says anything outside of cutscenes or joins in with party banter. :S) and usually has a very dry sense of humour when she does. But to those she grows close to, she ends up being a very caring, loyal person with a legitimately good heart underneath it all. She's good with her words, clever, and often able to talk aggressors down and avoid confrontation - but as said before, short fuse. When something gets on her bad side, reason is often lost on her.
Bit of background: Born among Sabrae Clan, but often called by her mother's clan name, Mahariel, which was supposed to be their way of honoring her memory. Something which, despite loving her people with all her heart and them loving her growing up, made her feel like something of an outsider even among her own people. She hardly even knew what happened to her parents until the day she left, and her older clanmates who remembered it always went silent about it whenever she came into earshot. Her whole life, she felt like the odd one out among Sabrae Clan - probably why she ended up close friends with Merrill, who was from another clan herself. The unwanted sympathy and isolation made her feel as if she had something to prove her entire life, and by the time she was little more than a young woman of 18 she had already worked her way up as one of the most promising young hunters in the clan - something which put her at odds with the similarly hotheaded Tamlen for a while until the two put aside their grievances and became the best of friends; more than that, in fact. His death struck a massive blow; by the time she was forced to leave with Duncan to become a Warden, she felt completely broken and lost. Blaming herself for not holding him back, part of her even tried to blame humans for showing them the cave in the first place. That, piled onto being dragged away from the only home she ever knew; one that, while she felt slightly separated from the others and often sought isolation from at times, was certainly more familiar than the world she was getting dragged into now. And thus...
Ostagar: Hostile to King Cailan, hostile to the Blacksmith, hostile to Daveth, hostile to Jory, hostile to the Chantry mother, called Alistair a weird human. Bitterly accused everyone in the group of being cowards. In short, was very, very angry at everything.
Strangely, it was Duncan's death that cooled her down a bit. Sort of. She found Alistair extremely difficult to dislike, and felt sympathy towards him losing someone he cared for dearly, given recent events. She respected Duncan too, begrudgingly. It took some convincing, but after a while, she relented from her doubts ("That changed when the Wardens all died." "Alistair is the real Warden here, not me.") and agreed to help Alistair save the damn world. She'd never admit it, but she cared. Now, she found herself in the awkward position of being the leader here. That was not what she'd agreed to, but she kept going regardless.
I'll just go over the more significant things.
Redcliffe: Helped the villagers defend Redcliffe, and went to the Circle to save Connor's life. She'd now officially gone from hating all humans everywhere to saving villages full of them.
Dalish Camp: Felt relieved to be among her people again, and was quick to offer aid with the curse. In the end, had Zathrian atone for his mistakes and break the curse.
Tamlen came back after this. Blighted, twisted, and as a ghoul. She'd just started accepting his death by then, moving on and letting everything weighing down on her go...and just like that, he was back and gone again. He professed always loving her, and that was it. She didn't even fight back, just ran away as the others leapt to her defense. That was probably the most terrifying and heartbreaking moment of her life.
Sacred Ashes: Despite her reservations, couldn't help but feel some sense of respect. She didn't defile the ashes. But the most significant thing here was encountering Tamlen's reflection. Even if she knew it wasn't him, hearing his voice say it was time to leave the past in the past and move on was what she needed dearly.
Denerim: Unlike some of her people, she saw elvenkind as elvenkind, regardless of where they took their first breath. Was immediately willing to help Shianni, and wiped out the slavers with a prejudice. If she didn't have any personal ammunition against Loghain before, she did now. Thus, she executed him. Having convinced Anora to marry Alistair, those two took the throne. Her best friend was now King of Ferelden. She figured that had to mean something good for her people.
She felt horrible about it, but she made Alistair do the ritual. Gritting through the feeling that she was taking advantage of their friendship, and not being entirely certain about Morrigan's plan, even if they had both gradually come to see each other as sisters.
After the battle, she gave land to the Dalish. But when Ashalle offered to bring her back to her people...she couldn't quite accept. Despite how much she missed them...she still couldn't bring herself to face them again, be reminded of Tamlen, everything. She'd shut herself out to her people, and chosen to travel. With...
Romance: When she first met Leliana, she turned her offer to join down. She found herself attracted to her, admittedly, but given the hostile back-and-forth that had resulted from her first ever interaction with a Chantry member at Ostagar, she wasn't sure she wanted that again. She gave her the cold shoulder for a while at first, not quite wanting to interact with her...but when she did, she found herself quickly captivated by her further. Her stories, attitude, good heart. She was still a bit cold towards her, as she was to pretty much everybody, but she found that facade increasingly difficult to keep up, and before she knew it she actually found herself responding well to Leliana flirting with her, complimenting her hair, and so on, which lead Aerya here - a romantic of sorts, but not quite adept at catching hints or making advances - to uncertainly ask her if she actually enjoyed her company in that way, a Dalish woman, and found out she did. Very much so, in fact. Not entirely sure how to respond to that, I imagine she slunk away and spent way too much time thinking about it quietly. A lot.
It wasn't until she discussed the Dalish with her, however, that she found herself truly head-over-heels. Leliana had unintentionally said something that might be offensive, due to her upbringing not really making her think of it as such...and when she called the human woman out on it, she wasn't standoffish or confrontational at all. In fact, she seemed sincerely regretful she'd caused offense, apologized, and thought on it long and hard. She was not at all what she had expected from her when she'd let her join. Eventually, many moons later, after more occasionally flirty back and forths and growing closer, they finally shared a kiss and, despite her initial reservations, quickly fell for each other.
Alistair seemed to have feelings for her as well, often complimenting her and clumsily flirting, but they weren't quite reciprocated. She saw him as a brother of sorts, but never anything more. Thankfully, it never went far enough that she had to say anything about it.
...well, that was longer than I anticipated. :S
What is your warden's personality?
How did he/she feel throughout the game big events?
Who did he/she romance and what were his/her feelings like?
Right, I'll just keep it to the Warden I've the softest spot for. Faolan Mahariel: Dalish Archer.
In a few words, though diligent and dutiful among the Dalish, he doesn't share Tamlen's mistrust of humans. In fact, he's always wondered what more was out there, and even had the habit of sneaking out of the camp to see as more of the world as possible. He's even interested in learning more about the Andrastian religion, though more out of curiosity rather than anything else. And once he becomes a Grey Warden, he feels every action of his reflects on the Dalish as a whole, so he's always civil and kind to everyone he encounters, even to Morrigan.
Ostagar: He was mostly confused by Loghain's actions, as he was still rather green to all the backroom politics that humans seemed to engage themselves to. And it didn't matter to him, anyway. For him, the darkspawn were a worse threat, after dealing with them back at the Intro. So he sucked it up and accepted the fact that he and Alistair had to try and build an army.
Lothering: Once finding out that Loghain placed a bounty on Grey Wardens, he felt the glove was thrown and it was on. And he was more than happy to have Leliana and Sten joining, since it was sort of the first step of building their army.
Broken Circle: He was glad to have the first significant ally. Even if at first he intended to just help Gregoir clear the Tower, believing the mages were dead, he decided to go with Wynne's plan and help her. He didn't listen to Cullen's rant because, switching a couple of words, it felt like listening to a human hating on Dalish and that didn't sit well with him.
Redcliffe Village: He went out of his way to help everyone, including Connor. And, well, hearing Alistair thanking him was a turning point. Until then, he felt that everything was on his shoulders alone, and now, for the first time, it looked like someone had his back and supported his decisions. He was more than glad to hand Alistair his amulet and even declare that he considered him a friend.
Brecilian Forest: He didn't appreciate werewolves attacking his fellow Dalish and he went after Witherfang gladly... but one thing he hated more was blood magic. When he found out what Zathrian did, he didn't go with the keeper's plan and had him break the curse.
Urn of Sacred Ashes: He was surprised that the legend was true, though he was more glad that Eamon would be cured and thus have another ally added to their cause.
Orzammar: He didn't agree giving the Anvil to Branka for one second. Having dwarves enslaved in stony prisons wasn't an option. As for king, he went for Harrowmont, mostly because he had heard the accusations and rumours about how Bhelen had his brother framed. Going with that, he decided that they should have an ally that wouldn't be so quick in turning against even his own kin. As a sidenote... the Deep Roads left him rather shaken, even if he never admitted it to anyone.
Landsmeet: He was more than glad that Loghain got his just desserts. He even let Alistair fight him - he felt that it would mean more to his friend to avenge Duncan's death for both of them.
Final Battle: Riordan's words left him shaken and, well... afraid of what would happen. Three Wardens against one Archdemon meant not leaving room for many mistakes. Who would reach the Archdemon first, and if they did reach the Archdemon, would they last long enough to land the killing blow? And then who would be left to rebuild the Wardens? He was sure that, even if that Archdemon was killed, the threat of future Blights still remained, and they had to be ready. It was part of the reason he accepted Morrigan's Dark Ritual - even if he was romantically involved with Zevran.
Which brings us to the romance. He had always been gay, and he even had a crush on Tamlen, though he never intended to tell him; he was aware Tamlen was only interested in women. In fact, Mahariel never spoke of his sexuality, feeling that that would leave him too vulnerable. Even when Zevran caught his eye, he didn't start flirting, unsure of what the fellow elf's reaction would be. He only reciprocated when Zevran gave him an opening (Paraphrasing: 'Why do you look at me like that?' 'Why wouldn't I? You make heads turn'). After that, it all came quite naturally, having their fun where they could... until they dealt with Taliesin. The idea that Zevran could have chosen right then and there to leave made him realise that he didn't want to lose the fellow elf and, more importantly, that he was in love with him. So, when Zevran gave him the earring, he was disappointed that it wasn't a token of affection, and he refused to take it. After some tension that was dissolved when Mahariel got captured and Zevran and Alistair had to get him out, they finally cleared the air and they decided to fully commit to their relationship. After that, they fought their battles together.
Nice to start a thread to gush about our favourite character of all time. I have many playthroughs but only one is made canon for me - Male human noble. I'll keep it short. I hope.
What am I saying? Nobody's gonna read them. Are they?
Name: Aedan Cousland (I'm a sucker for default names. Nearly gave him the name 'Angus' to match with 'Fergus' but Aedan sounds much better anyway.)
Class: Warrior (Sword & Shield)
What is your warden's personality?
Background+Personality:
How did he/she feel throughout the game big events?
The Broken Circle: Harsh treatment towards the trapped Circle mages and unharmed innocents in the tower spurred him to save the mages. Wynne reminded him of Eleanor and he needed her guidance.
Urn of Sacred Ashes: Kolgrim's fanaticism and Haven villagers' messed up worship of dragons and human slaughtering ways drove him to stand against this lunacy and protect the Ashes.
Dwarves of Orzammar: Sided with Caridin. He's not going to let Shale down. Sided with Bhelen despite rumours of him committing fratricide. His reforms are crucial in the days to come and it would benefit all of Thedas for the dwarves to come out establish trade relations topside.
The Brecillian Forest: Forced Zathrian to make peace with the werewolves. Sometimes it's best to let go of age-old grudges, especially one that stops Grey Wardens in recruiting people to defeat the goddamn Blight. They can be really inconvenient sometimes.
Redcliffe: Aedan knows Bann Teagan and Arl Eamon from his time in accompanying his father to the Landsmeet. His father often spoke highly of them. Aedan stayed and assisted the villagers and proceeded to save Connor from the demon with the help of the Circle mages he recruited earlier.
The Alienage: Saved the elves and killed the Tevinter slaver. He has zero tolerance for slavers.
The Landsmeet: Executed Loghain on Alistair's behalf. Traitors need to die anyway. Aedan placed his good friend Alistair on the throne as the sole ruler of Ferelden and volunteered to help him with the governance as his Chancellor. Aedan didn't want to risk placing Anora on the throne and getting himself killed after what he did to her father.
The Final Battle: Aedan volunteered to perform the Dark Ritual with Morrigan. Again, he's afraid of Morrigan showing up with Alistair's bastard son and tearing up the nation again. Hence he volunteered. He killed the Archdemon Urthemiel and survived.
Who did he/she romance and what were his/her feelings like?
Aedan fell for Leliana eventually. In the beginning, he was all 'meh' when Leliana got bubbly about helping him defeating the Blight. He let her joined his travelling party and thought she could serve as a fodder for the darkspawn. Maybe a real encounter with these blighted creatures will scare her back into seclusion with the other Chantry nuns. But she stayed and her skills got Aedan curious about her past. Aedan let her be and knew that she would share whatever she wants with him in good time. He kept his feelings for her to himself however after finding out that she loved her former mentor, Marjolaine and that he believed himself to be way out of league for Leliana. His worries dissipated in the end after Leliana confessed her feelings to him. From there, their relationship blossomed. After helping Leliana to kill Marjolaine, both Aedan and Leliana becomes committed in their relationship.
I've had several, but the first one I played is by far my favourite and the most developed, so -- considering how much I tend to write in these things -- I'll just focus on him. I ended up playing him through the game a total of three times, the last time being the 'true canon' run (twice as Zemariel, once as Cyrion*).
[ * The actual story behind the two names is that he nearly wound up named that the first time I played through the game, albeit with a different spelling (Kyrien), and I'd also considered the similar Sirion; I didn't really like how little the name he ended up with fit in with the world, so on the third playthrough, I decided to just go back to the name I was going to use, although -- given that his father was named Cyrion -- it made more sense to use that spelling and just assume he was named after him instead of given a supiciously similar name. ]
Name: Cyrion Zemariel Tabris
Class: Rogue [Assassin/Duelist/Legionnaire Scout]
Weapons: Sword and dagger
Fighting Style: Mostly upfront, rarely actually used stealth; served as the party's main fighter
Personality/Background: He was named after his father but given a second name in honour of his mother's clan, which he has always gone by. As a child, he lived on his mother's tales of the outside world, and spent all of the time that he could training with her. When she was killed when he was still very young, he was devastated and angry, but poured his attention into helping his father. He dreamed of getting out of the Alienage, and attempted to run away once or twice, but had no way out. He knew that he would have to get married, but he dreaded that day, and was always hoping he could get out of it somehow -- although not the way it happened, so he felt somewhat guilty about that later. He had some distrust of humans, but after meeting first Duncan (who he idolised) and later Alistair, he got over that fairly quickly.
Overall, he is an optimist, and took his role as a Grey Warden seriously. He felt that he had to help out as many people as possible along the way, and tried his best to leave the world in a better condition than he found it (although a certain recklessness and poor judgement meant that this didn't always happen). He would do just about anything for his friends or family. I figure him having started the game at not-quite eighteen years old, but he would have acted similarly with a year or two different on either side anyhow.
Feelings on events:
Romance: While Zemariel spared Zevran for two reasons (first: another ally, find more information; second: he was an elf, and Zemariel was feeling out of place with all these humans and no elves), he quickly found himself warming to the assassin, and ended up falling in love with him. Initially he brought Zevran most places with him to keep an eye on him and learn from him (assassinating seemed a useful skill), but over time that developed into a deeper affection for him, although he didn't quite notice that himself until he realised that he was defending the other elf to the rest of the party. By the time they ran into Taliesin, Zemariel would've done most anything for Zevran, and was relieved when he decided to stay. He never quite got over his upbringing and the idea that he should find someone to stick with for the rest of his life, and so turned down the earring at first, hoping to eventually hear that it did mean more (although he kicked himself about that until it got resolved).
Companions: Zevran was the most important to him by the end, but (almost) all of Zemariel's companions were very important to him. In most cases he took Zevran, Alistair, and Wynne with him.
And clearly I wrote quite enough there already, so I'll just leave it at Zemariel, at least for now.
What is your warden's personality?
How did he/she feel throughout the game big events?
Who did he/she romance and what were his/her feelings like?
Personality depends on what I'm playing as:
City Elf - Hates humans except those i deem trustworthy, puts the life of his people first.
Dalish Elf - Is more on the principle of freedom, What people want they do it, example Alistair doesn't want to be king then he doesnt, release Jowan that b*******
Since I haven't played the rest yet then it would be : I do what i Feel like doing at the time.
How did he feel?
*I always play as male, he felt badass if i do say so myself soloing hordes of darkspawn by being a rogue with S&S talents.
Who he romanced? everyone. . yep Everyone. . Caitlyn, Bella, Gheyna, Anora (by marrying her), Isabela, and ofc Morrigan and Leliana. I am again always male throw all the other guys away .The ladies are mine.
Aha, a thread where we can ramble endlessly about our OC and our headcanons without any guilt. I like it.
Name: Cerian Surana (known as "Cesci" to most).
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Origin: Circle Mage
Specialisation: Blood Mage/Arcane warrior. Has a scholarly interest in lost magic, rituals, runes and symbols, ancient incantations, the history of magic - i.e. things mostly outside of the 'Four Schools of Magic' the circle emphasises. Would have likely pursued the theory of magic and battled for the remit to research this if she hadn't been recruited.
Background: The Suranas are large family, anchored in Tevinter, and persist as travelling merchants who prize their hard-won freedom after breaking from generations of slavery. This concept of freedom was engrained into Cesci too - and as a principle, is the single most important thing for her - freedom to live, to dream, without the shackles of poverty, race, or magical ability, and it's not something most people realise until they've picked away at her exterior. As a family, they weren't particularly rich - on the contrary, often living in squalor and moving from slum to slum. Cesci's branch worked and travelled mostly in Orlais, straying into the Ferelden at times as traders between their Alienages, working with elders and local merchants to provide a supply chain. Cesci's earliest memories were of noise - screaming children, weary elders, scurrying workers, her elder siblings bickering and her younger ones sick and likely dying, crammed into one small Alienage. Back then, she was known for her mischeavous antics. Her parents - practical folk, unconcerned with elven history or legacy - were strict Andrastrian converts, and deeply distrustful of magic. Cesci was shipped to a Circle without question when she showed signs of magical ability, never to be talked of again by her household.
A severely quiet child, who frequently chose to isolate herself at first, Cesci found the absolute silence, comparative to the noise and terror she was used to, of the Circle absolutely maddening. She threw herself into studies, into focus, into magic, as an attempt to block out the silence that surrounded her. Her dedication won her the appeal of teachers, who encouraged her curiosity and appetite for knowledge. She began to embrace the Circle - a highly competitive, academic environment, full of games played by Templars - constantly attempting to trip up apprentices, isolate "morally unsuitable" or "mentally unstable" recruits, traps she narrowly avoided - and other Mages, attempting to out-do, out-best, and slander others for the sake of advancement, and the hope of somehow earning a privilege or two. As an apprentice and a young mage, the Circle was an unforgiving, closeted, messy place, and Cesci hardly emerged unscathed after parental abandoment. From the outside, when she broke from her long periods solitude, she was spirited, witty and highly eccentric - if displaying an alarming lack of empathy and an uncanny ability to block obstacles - be them spells, demons, or other people - out of her way. Cesci came out of it rather well - clever and cunning enough to work with Irving, enough to dob that useless sap Jowan (who was the closest thing she had to a friend, and put up with her long silences and her weird antics) in when she realised he was a blood mage - and leaped at the chance to become a Warden by Duncan, as most Circle mages do when offered.
Feelings of Events:
Ostagar: At first, slightly giddy, in awe of the fact that she's free from the Circle and doesn't have to go back. The politics of it all goes slightly over her head - whilst she can be cunning and persuasive if she wants or needs to, she has absolutely no clue how human nobles conduct politics and the relevence of all the factions and friction. She finds Daveth interesting, Jory irritating, and finds Alistair's off-beat humour terrible amusing, happily engaging with it. She's quite taken with Morrigan, and the allure of the unfamiliar magic she possesses - and amused by her companions' negative reactions to her and Flemeth.
When she wakes up in Flemeth's hut to then find out everyone she had just met yesterday had been massacred... well, she's not entirely sure how to react. Part of her had expected it to all go rotten and sour just to spite her. Part of her thinks this is a trap, she'll be captured, and go back to the circle. Part of doesn't care. In short, her gut instinct is just to run. Finding Alistair outside stalls her - he looked awfully upset, and he had been trying to be genuinely nice and welcoming to her for once. So, she plays the hero - and is delighted to find out Morrigan is coming along.
Lothering: Finds Alistair's and Morrigans complete and apparent hate for each other rather charming - she expects, like in novels, they'd fall for each other (certainly not for her, she believes she's beyond the love thing). Recruits Leliana, bemused by her vision, but taken by the idea of a Chantry sister train in martial arts. Warms to Leliana very quickly - a big fan of stories and music. Recruits Sten, completely puzzled by the qunari outlook, and easily willing - almost scarily so - to overlook his crimes for the sake of a decent soldier.
Redcliffe: Amused and baffled by Alistair's royal heritage admission - wonders if it's a gimmick. Understands much later the reasons for his insecurity. Goes into Redcliffe with the image of a 'do-gooder' hero stuck in her head, understanding that she's to perform a role. Does lots of nice things for different people - except maybe convincing a scared little boy to give her his grandfather's sword. Is surprised - and happy - when people express approval, agree, like what she's doing. Her companions - in particular, Alistair and Leliana - become a moral compass for her, which she herself lacks, and she relies on them more than she lets on. When it comes to Connor, she takes up Jowan's offer. She felt like she should, at least, feel guilty to an extent over what had happened, and he seemed earnest enough, and despite his annoyance he'd been good for her - so she let him go, urging him to help out. She didn't particularly want to kill the boy, and going to the Circle... well, she didn't want to go back quite yet. So she went into the Fade, killed the demon (I pretend that she didn't take up the offer on the basis of already studying Blood Magic in theory, but in the the game took it up). She was surprised when Alistair reacted so furiously, and felt quite hurt.
The Circle Tower: After Alistair's angry reaction, she headed back to the Circle, perhaps hoping that time could be reversed and she could save someone by magic - only to be met by the chaos. Charged the tower with Wynne + Alistair + Morrigan (lead to some friction, was surprised and tempted to just change her mind to sate Morrigan). She's also a little unnerved - blood magic is a tool for her, a means to an end, but demons aren't to be trusted: likely she would have been swept up in Uldred's promises of liberation and freedom if she'd been there, onyl for it to end in chaos. As for Cullen, well... she's always pitied Templars, as tools trapped by the chantry in the same way mages were, rather than feared them, and just sees him as a victim of that. She's a bit surprised by his admission of infatuation, as she genuinely didn't think anyone could be attracted to her so passionately, as anything more than a casual thing. She saves the Circle, of course, anulment wasn't an option for her in the slightest. Knowledge - especially magic knowledge - is something she sees of value, and will try and preserve.
The Brecilian Forest: She's secretly really curious - although really rather apprehensive - about meeting the Dalish. She feels more the outsider here - watching her own kind bond in such tightly-knit clans full of love and joy - than amongst humans, because it was a given she'd be an outsider amongst them. Regret, she feels, for a life that could have been, and a genuine desire to help them. She sympathises with the werewolves - and recognises, like her, they've been trapped by conditions outside of her own making. Thus, she agrees to end the curse, sacrificing Zarathrian - who was a tad shady in the end, it seems - for it.
Orzammar: She disliked her time here very much. Politics was usually a fun game in the Circle, lots of petty factions and bickering, ripe with fall outs and drama galore, but Orzammar made it dull. Dwarves are people she knows nothing of, and isn't really welcomed by - tradition, honour, strict societal roles were things that hadn't served her well. She supports Harrowmont at first, out of apathy "it's a name", although as she discovers his traditional, conservative leanings, she leans towards Bhelen in the end, crowning him. Her attitude is 'just get it over with'. The Deep Roads was a pretty horrific experience for her, and perhaps the first realisation that being a Grey Warden means something: that some consider it an honour, pomp and ceremony, others overglorified relics, and others... a curse. She realises she is trapped by the taint and that terrifies her. As for the anvil, she sides with Caridin pretty easily, as a Golem with a control rod isn't much better than slavery.
Denerim: She slashes Vaughn's throat after convincing him to give the key to the lockbox because whilst she generally prefers talking her way out of situations over violence, and really isn't motivated enough for vengence 9 times out of 10, he's a nasty piece of work and she - however misguidedly- believes in the notion of elven solidarity, or at least wants to. She's horrified by events in the alienage - although given her family history, she pieces things together the moment she hears the word 'Tevinter', and isn't surprised when it's slavery. She laughs when the offer of a hundred sovreigns is first floated to her, and replies that she doesn't see the point of paying when she can loot take documents off his corpse for free. At the Landsmeet, she promises Anora support, and Anora speaks in favour - only to withdraw it last moment, in response to Anora's accusation of kidnapping at Arl Howe's estate. This is primarily a tactical move - Cesci wants a monarch she can trust, and won't screw the wardens over again, so solo King Alistair it is. This is partially indicative of her growing political nous in the 'real world' - although perhaps some naivité too, as a more canny warden would have surrendered straight away at Cauthrien's hands first time. She also believed, having to come to know him more than a fountain of humourous jests, more than anyone else, that Alistair had the leadership potential, the guts, the compassion, and the steely nerve to be a great king. She nearly saved Loghain too - although Alistair's outright disapproval lead her to let him be killed there and then. After all, going to the wardens was only a delayed death sentence.
Romance: Spirited, adventurous, full-of-life and daring, Cesci got on very well with most romancable companions (unfortunately, Morrigan wasn't bisexual in the slightest, otherwise she might have chased the wild witch first). A bit of a flirt with a vociferous sexual appetite - as she had been in the tower, her relations with people usually consisted of sexual flings or political pawns - she responded well to Zevran's crude advances, Leliana's pretty ballads, and... well, Alistair's remark about "licking a lampost in winter". This got her into a fair bit of trouble later on. Interestingly, despite how well attuned she was to Zevran's practical-but-amusing mode of thinking, and Leli's natural curiosity and love of the world, she ended up falling for Alistair, whom she was the closest. Partially because she didn't really have a sense of what 'honour' was in the slightest, and morality was a confusing guessing game for her, both of which Alistair had in spades and helped provide for her. She would approach situations asking what Alistair would do. He would also return her curiosity in other people's lives and situations by asking her about how *she* found being warden, whether *she* was struggling to cope, what *she* wanted. That he was concerned that his pain and suffering was too much for her. That kind of empathy and concern wasn't something she'd seen in a long while. She was also really surprised by his honesty, the earnestness of his feelings, his sweetness, his absolute commitment - most of her relations with people weren't commital, and she was spooked by this at first... but he let her grow. He liked her vivacity, her spirited freedom, she liked his groundedness, his commitment to good. He didn't think her a *complete* oddball. Not an ideal relationship by any means - she had a tendency to overlook his petulant side, his distaste of Morrigan and all things dark and scary, and never told him about her ability to use blood magic (she actively hid it). He was a little enamoured by this pretty elf who gave him the time of day not to realise how she functioned slightly... different from most.
Alright, info dump done.
Edit: missed out the ending, whoops.
Conclusion:
Convinces a hardened Alistair to keep her on as his mistress. She sees nothing wrong with this relationship, and imagines his future queen to be kept fully out of it (or in it, if she sways that way, she doesn't particularly care as long as she can keep her guy). She takes Morrigan's DR. She doesn't see anything wrong with it, nobody's harmed, and she doesn't place enough value on sex to see why Alistair sleeping with her just once would do any harm. Morrigan had her at the 'preserve old magics' line. She... does struggle with the idea of coercing Alistair, as highly manipulative and cruel. But she decides she's not beyond manipulating her beloved for the sake of living is probably an ok outcome.
I do have a second, seperate route where she refuses to go to Alistair, and instead would likely beg Morrigan to let her carry the baby instead, because she can't stand the idea of coercing someone into something like sex - which should be something you partake in gladly, not reluctantly (personally always had a massive problem with that). Morrigan says no, of course. In that reality, Alistair dumps her, only to then sacrifice himself in the end anyway. She's kind of floored by the whole process, how much of a waste it seems, wishing she'd been able to die instead, and spends most of Awakening hacking away at darkspawn pretty mindlessly.

Personality: -Goes with the flow kind of guy even if he didn't like the marriage he was okay with it, lazy, charismatic and hard-headed.
-Does not like oppression of any kind. Values freedom from everything else.
-Does not like extreme decisions like killing Connor or anything that goes with killing innocents.

-Usually goes all-out frontal with Hordes making Morrigan frustrated because of her job as a healer.
-Due to being extremely hardheaded, even without being a mage was able to learn a couple of spells.
How did he/she feel throughout the game big events?
-Origin: Didn't really care he was getting married. Felt better when the wifey was beautiful. Had the urge to kill Vaughan from the time he saw him. Didn't like to be a warden but had to after killing everyone in the castle in cold blood. Oh yeah that felt good.
-Ostagar: Didn't like the King.
Wanted to finish the ritual as soon as possible and was struck by cupid's arrow after meeting Morrigan.
Thought Daveth and Jory were irritating. Didn't like Loghain any bit. Hates traps because he can't see them. Loves soloing ogres and other elite shits that comes by. Hated Loghain even more after tower of Ishaal.
-Lothering: Felt sorry for Sten so recruited him. Intimidated the merchant to sell at low prices. Nice to red head kid looking for his mom. Killed the bandits and soldiers in tavern. Recruited Leliana because she is beautiful.
-Redcliffe: Flirted with Caitlyn. Made sure villagers were prepped for battle and kicked the asses of all those dead mudafucks.Saved both Connor and Isolde.
-Circle of Magi: Save the mages **** the Right of Annulment. Helped Wynne. Loved killing abominations all the way. Enjoyed the Fade and shapeshifting. Was even more convinced that Alistair was an idiot for believing the illusion was real. Laughed inside for Morrigan's illusion and got irritated with Wynne's. Would've loved to kill Cullen's sissy mouth and head.
-Honnleath: Didn't like Shale any bit. Felt awkward about talking about the control rod and saving the people because of it.
-Orzammar: Sided with Bhelen cause he wanted change for the better of orzammar. Gave Caridin his final wish and killed Branka because she was a ******.
-Brecilian Forest: Suspicious of the Keeper from the start. Felt sorry for the wolves. Thought Gheyna looked like Shianni so seduced her (but reloaded to help Cammen). Thought Lady was sexy and helped her because of that. Defeated the Keeper coz he was a pathetic piece of ****.
-Return to Ostagar: Had a killing frenzy with all the DS found there. Felt a bit sad seeing Cailan treated badly. And felt even angrier remembering Loghain.
-Urn of Ashes: Felt happy to kill some dragons, drakes and baby drags. Thought the gauntlet was cool and thought the Guardian was pretty cool-looking. Thought Kolgrim was a stupid obsessed mofo and killed him happily. Loved killing that high dragon.
-Denerim: Felt that Anora was a complete and utter ****** from start to finish. Made sure Alistair was king so that he could help him get leverage for the city elves.Saved all the persons in Howe's residence. Killed Howe with pleasure. Final Ritual? with Morrigan? A Pleasure to do so. To kill Loghain or not to kill Loghain? Is that even a question? KILL THE MOFO! I'm gonna look for Morrigan for epilogue.
Bear with me, this is gonna be windy:
Name: Kloreth Surana
Race/Class: Elf Mage
Likes: Long walks on the beach, romantic poetry, setting darkspawn on fire with his mind
Dislikes: Demons and other monsters, betrayal, officious templars (i.e., all of them)
Origin: Kloreth never knew anything but the Circle, and he hated it. The templars were overbearing (why assume all mages were stupid enough to make deals with demons), and plenty of the human mages were racist enough to put a very large chip on his shoulder. One of the few who took him at face value and treated him with fairness and respect was Jowan. When Jowan and Lily came to Kloreth with the plan for escape, he hardly needed convincing. But that adventure ended in what Kloreth saw as a terrible betrayal, as Jowan's use of blood magic seemed to confirm the templars' every fear. Duncan's intervention, by contrast, was everything he'd ever dreamed: A chance to leave the Circle, see Thedas, and be part of a group that would accept him for who he was and what he could offer. The days journeying to Ostagar were some of the happiest of his life.
Ostagar, by comparison, was a whirlwind of fear and chaos. He remembered only moments: Daveth's eyes going white, the stink of the ogre's breath, the raw power of Flemeth's presence. The dual blows of Loghain's betrayal and Duncan's death left him reeling, but with nowhere else left to go, and the fate of Ferelden and all Thedas in his hands, what else could he do but rise to meet the challenge?
Companions/Romance:
Alistair was a goofball, but honest and supportive. Kloreth relied on him, as a slightly senior Warden, a great deal in the early days of the Blight. Over time, they became as close as brothers, sharing each adventure with gusto, and often literally standing back-to-back against the darkspawn. Kloreth came to see his friend for the good-hearted, fair-minded man that he was, and helped him remain so after the disappointment with Goldanna. When the time came for the Landsmeet, Kloreth knew that Alistair would make an excellent king if wed to Anora, but also knew that his friend would never agree to it, so he backed Alistair into the throne as gently as he could. He regretted going behind his friend's back, but knew that it would be for the best for Ferelden, and for Alistair himself.
Morrigan was the first mage Kloreth ever met outside the Circle, and his reaction to her was mixed. On the one hand, he shared her skepticism about the Chantry (if the Maker existed, Kloreth could never believe He would sanction the near-slavery of the Circles or the atrocity of Tranquilization), but her self-centered ethos put him off. For all that he hated the Circle, Kloreth believed the words "magic was meant to serve" were good ones; what good was having power if it didn't help anyone? In the end, Kloreth and Morrigan agreed to disagree about some matters, but bonded on others. And Kloreth's altruism worked to Morrigan's benefit when she asked him to help her escape from her mother's clutches once and for all. The battle with Flemeth's dragon form was brutal, but the victory ensured her freedom, and she was forever grateful to her friend for his help. Her offer on the eve of the Battle of Denerim was her repayment, and for his own reasons, Kloreth was willing to accept it.
So recently freed from his own cage, what choice did Kloreth have but to free the Qunari Sten and set him against the darkspawn? Sten's brusque manner put off most of the party, but Kloreth saw it for what it was: uncompromising honesty and principle. He couldn't argue with that, and he and Sten whiled away many hours on the road debating philosophy. Neither ever changed the other's mind, but a respect grew between them that blossomed into friendship when Kloreth agreed to help Sten find his sword. The confrontation at Haven was little more than another good-natured battle of words, and in the end, even Sten agreed that securing the Arl's aid, and his army, was a quest worth undertaking.
Shale was always an enigma to Kloreth, even after they discovered her true origins together. He couldn't fathom what the experience must have been like for her, trapped in the stone form by a horrible process, then forced to do the bidding of a series of masters for centuries before finally being trapped as a statue in Honnleath. But she would not want his pity, so instead he offered her his respect, along with the chance to crush darkspawn skulls. It was an arrangement that worked to the benefit of all the parties. He never forgot her parting words at the gates of Denerim: "Have fun storming the castle!" He did, Shale, he did.
Kloreth had never known Wynne very well at the Circle, and didn't even remember her being at Ostagar. He was happy for her help at the Circle, though, and gladly brought her along afterwards. From her, he learned not only great secrets of healing magic, but also how to shoulder the burden of leadership. More than any other companion, save Leliana, he turned to her when he was caught in doubt. Her wisdom served him well, and when he heard, years later, of her death, he was greatly saddened, but also certain that she, of all the people he had known, had earned a place with her Maker.
Was it elven kinship that made Kloreth spare and recruit the elven assassin Zevran? Or was it the sympathy of one who also knew what it was like to have his destiny chosen at childhood, and to want to break free from it? Zevran never asked, and Kloreth never told, but the two became fast friends during their adventures. Kloreth learned from Zevran to make peace with the more dangerous parts of his nature, and Zevran learned the value of pointing his most dangerous parts at the right targets. Kloreth hap[pily stood by his friend against the Crows, and Zevran repaid him by holding the gates of Denerim with his last ounce of strength. The two rarely saw each other after the Blight, but each kept abreast of news of the other, and Zevran never again took a contract on any blood mage or abomination without confirming the fact first, in which case he always signed the end result, "To Kloreth".
Oghren and Kloreth agreed on little, except that darkspawn needed killing and good alcohol was worth its weight in gold. But that was enough for Oghren to call the Warden a friend, and friends they remained to the end of their days. Through the Battle of Denerim to the Siege of Vigil's Keep and well beyond, Oghren served the Wardens whole-heartedly, as long as you defined "serving the Wardens" as "doing what Kloreth would want". When asked why he was so loyal to Kloreth, Oghren simply replied that he'd spent his whole life fighting, but until he met the Warden-Commander, he'd never had anything worth fighting for. Those who knew of his frequent visits to Felsi could only nod knowingly.
And what is there to say of faithful Zheng? Kloreth never imagined he might one day own a Mabari warhound, but found the experience to be all it promised and more. The two whiled away many evenings at camp playing together, and Zheng could always be found curled up before Kloreth's tent in the morning. Zheng bravely commanded the troops holding Denerim's gates during the final battle with the Archdemon, and happily returned to his master's side after his stint in the capital's breeding kennels. He remained there until the end of his days, and it is said that, in the registry of Wardens at Weisshaupt, there is a page where no names are written but one, with the imprint of a Mabari's paw beneath it.
Kloreth had known few women in his time at the Circle, and none of them had been anything like Leliana. More than her beauty, her compassion and optimism captivated him, and became a source of strength during the early months of the Blight, when he often feared that all his efforts would be for nothing. He flirted shamelessly with her from the start, but sometime after the crisis at the Circle, he felt his respect and admiration deepening into something more. Before he could decide what to do about these feelings, Leliana approached him first, and the two were inseparable in spirit from that moment forward. He fought at her side when she confronted Marjolaine in Denerim, and talked her into sparing her ex-lover's life, arguing that the person she had become was worth preserving, even if it meant throwing away revenge. For Leliana's part, she eventually softened his position on the Chantry, although he never went so far as to agree with the Circle system as it stood, and saw the Mages' Rebellion as a chance to build something better. Duty eventually separated them, for a time, but their hearts remained as one to the end of their days.
The Blight:
Kloreth began seeking allies in Redcliffe. He gladly joined in the defense of the village, and made Sten and Morrigan help for their protests. Together, he and his allies successfully fought off the undead attack, although not without losses. He accepted Bella's kiss as a reward, either unaware of Leliana's unspoken disapproval, or hoping to provoke it. Finding Jowan in the dungeons was a shock, and more so was learning what he had done, and the horror he had precipitated. Given the chance, though, he drove Jowan to accept the consequences of his action, and earn some redemption by leading the ritual to restore Connor. Kloreth himself challenged the demon in the Fade, and defeated it, never succumbing to its temptations. Afterwards, though, Kloreth allowed Bann Teagan to decide Jowan's fate, knowing that facing the music for what he had done was the only way Jowan would know peace.
The return to the Circle was hard on Kloreth. With blood mages and abominations run rampant, it seemed once again that the templars had been proven right. But he found rays of hope, in Wynne's desperate holding action, in Niall's sacrifice, even in Cullen's defiance. Imprisonment in the Fade only strengthened Kloreth's resolve, and truth be told, he'd always thought Uldred was a pompous ass anyway. Thought the cost in lives was great, Kloreth, Litany of Andralla in hand and companions at his side, won the day, and saved the lives of Irving and several other mages. He let Greagoir know in no uncertain terms that Annullment was not an option, and won the service of the mages, both to fight the Darkspawn and to save Connor.
Kloreth's mind was never far from what he would do after the Blight. The Wardens would need to be rebuilt, and they would need a home base. So when Levi Dryden approached his camp with his story about Soldier's Peak, Kloreth's curiosity drove him to that forlorn ruin. The horror he found within taught him another lesson about the dangers of demons, and of weighing the scales between expediency and morality. In the end, he tricked the demon possessing Sophia Dryden into closing the Veil before slaying it, but spared Avernus, allowing his research to continue under more ethical guidelines. Kloreth also took advantage of Avernus's research, in spite of his misgivings, reasoning that the damage was already done, and that maybe he could bring some good out of the evil that claimed the Wardens so long ago.
The return to Ostagar was a sobering affair, but necessary. Kloreth, Alistair, and Wynne all put their demons from that terrible night to rest, and emerged more determined than ever to end the Blight.
Kloreth was dubious about the quest for the Sacred Ashes, but Arl Eamon's help was desperately needed. The long and winding road to Haven and the Ruined Temple cemented the bonds between Kloreth and many of his companions, and the final quest itself revealed him as the man to unite Ferelden. He made his peace with the events at the Circle (both before and after his recruitment), tricked the cultists into allowing the party passage, and claimed the Ashes without ruining them. Aemon was finally healed, and together he and Kloreth began to plan Ferelden's future.
Kloreth wasn't thrilled at being thrust in the middle of dwarven politics, but he gritted his teeth, knowing the dwarves would be valuable allies. Reasoning that he might as well pick a good king, he played Bhelen and Harrowmont against each other before leaving for the Deep Roads, weighing which one was the better man. While he enjoyed meeting with the Legion of the Dead, the rest of the journey was not so pleasant. The encounter with the Broodmother, and the truth about Branka, was horrible enough, but the final truth, the origin of the golems and the power of the Anvil of the Void, turned his stomach. Siding with Caridin was no decision at all, and afterwards, still reeling, he chose Harrowmont over Bhelen, not willing to put a fratricide and indirect patricide on the throne. In later years, as Orzammar became more closed to the surface, he wondered if he had made the right decision after all, but never spoke of it out loud, except perhaps to Leliana.
The trip to the Brecilian Forest should have been idyllic in comparison. Kloreth had never felt any particular kinship with the Dalish, but was interested to learn about them, and found their intricate mythology fascinating. He was quite willing to help with their werewolf problem, doing what he could as he trekked through the forest to aid what elves he found. But then he got to the werewolves' sanctum, and met with the Lady of the Forest. Tired at this point of revenge, politics, and twisted choices, he brokered a peace at the point of his mages' staff. Zathrian balked at sacrificing himself to end the cycle, but Kloreth refused to give in, and, in the end, both the elves and the werewolves found peace, and the new Keeper pledged the clan to the Wardens' cause.
At last came the Landsmeet. Kloreth's daring rescue of Anora and Arl Howe's other prisoners turned into a daring escape from Fort Drakon. Surprisingly, Anora proved receptive to a marriage with Alistair, and was in the end much easier to persuade than he was. The Alienage brought back no memories for Kloreth, but did deepen his disgust for Loghain. At the Landsmeet itself, Kloreth easily won the support of the majority of the nobles for Alistair's claim, and faced Loghain in single combat. In spite of the reason behind Riordan's offer, Kloreth chose to execute Loghain personally, achieving some measure of justice for all those who had been harmed by his schemes.
Why did Kloreth take Morrigan's offer on the eve of the Battle of Denerim? Not out of love, or even desire, for Morrigan herself. Kloreth never revealed to anyone, even Leliana, how he survived the Battle of Denerim. In his heart of hearts, however, he knew that he took the deal because he simply was not ready or willing to die. There was too much of life to be lived, too much of Thedas to see, and too much of love to experience. The battle itself was a mighty affair, with Kloreth, Alistair, Leliana and Wynne battling their way through the Darkspawn horde to face off against the Archdemon itself, and Kloreth making the final blow against Urthemiel himself.
In the aftermath, Kloreth and his friends celebrated greatly, and the newly crowned King Alistair announced that the Lake Calenhad Circle would enjoy a greater amount of autonomy from that day forward. In spite of the Chantry's eventual crackdown, and the complete dissolution of the Circle at the outbreak of the Mage-Templar War, Kloreth's fellow mages never forgot his graciousness.
After the Blight:
Kloreth never expected rebuilding the Fereldan chapter of the Wardens to be easy, but neither did he expect to do it in the midst of a Darkspawn civil war. Each of his encounters with the Disciples was more disturbing than the last, and with every step he questioned how much the Wardens really knew about the nature of the Blight. He was grateful to have companions, old and new, at his side.
While Arl Howe's actions during the Blight horrified him, Kloreth refused to extend those sins to his son, and gladly gave Nathaniel a second chance with the Wardens. While they saw eye to eye on very little, they developed a mutual respect that lasted for years, even after Kloreth's decisions at Drake's Fall. After Kloreth's departure, Nathaniel took a strong hand in the running of Vigil's Keep.
Looking at Anders often made Kloreth feel like he was looking into a mirror. Their shared senses of humor and opinions on the Circle formed a close bond between them. Kloreth opposed the Wardens' decision to give away Ser Pounce-a-Lot, and wasn't surprised when Anders disappeared from Vigil's Keep not long after. When he heard the story of Anders' involvement in the Kirkwall Rebellion, Kloreth was surprised that his friend could have changed so much. He mourned Anders's death privately for some time.
Justice was forever an enigma to Kloreth, but he was happy to have him by his side. Feeling a strange sense of duty to Kristoff's widow, Kloreth gladly helped Justice reconcile with her. Nonetheless, he was somewhat relieved when Justice quit Kristoff's body at last.
Kloreth and Velanna got along only as well as they needed to. His attempts to soften her vindictive personality were never quite successful, and she never forgave him for turning down the Architect's deal, believing it condemned her sister to death or worse. In spite of this, Kloreth never gave up on her.
Sigrun and Kloreth became fast friends and remained so as long as they were both Wardens. She never rejoined the Legion of the Dead.
As the Darkspawn Civil War raced to its conclusion, Kloreth refused to abandon the city of Amaranthine, hoping that Vigil's Keep would hold against the horde. Happily, the investments he'd made in the Keep's infrastructure enabled it to do just that. At Drake's Fall, Kloreth, Nathaniel, Velanna and Justice confronted first the Architect, and then the Mother. Kloreth slew both, not willing to leave the Darkspawn with any kind of command structure. The escape of the Disciples troubled him, as did the Architect's claims about the taint, the Calling, and the Blights, and, many years later, those claims drove him to seek the truth of the matter once and for all.
Kloreth's report on the events at Amgarrak Thaig was perfunctory, and he refused to discuss the journey openly. He was, however, said to have taken great interest in the events of the Mages' Rebellion in Kirkwall, particularly the rumors surrounding the fate of First Enchanter Orsino.
The search for Morrigan left Kloreth with more questions than answers. Afterwards, he never sought out Morrigan, or his son, again.
I should add an "After the Blight" chapter to my Warden's story. That was a great idea, Captain Wiseass! (Also, it sounds like your Warden and mine would have gotten along fairly well despite their originally very different views on the Circle.)
I can never get enough threads like these
Name: Terra Brosca
Age: 27-28(Origins/Awakenings) 34(DA2) 38(DAI)
Class: SnS Warrior (champion)
Titles: Warrior Caste/Paragon(?) Warden Commander of Fereldan
Personality: Despite being the younger sister, Terra always had a protective instinct for Rica. She's the hired thug, and while she despises what Rica has to do, she prefers that Rica's soul stays unbloodied, unlike her own. Loves her mother to, despite being a verbally abusive alcoholic.
Ostagar
Where to begin? Didn't trust Loghain from the get go. Thought the king was a moron. Alistair is a good man, and Duncan didn't deserve his fate. Thought Jory deserved what he go, and thought Daveth was cute. Shame that he died.
Wasn't surprised by Loghain's betrayal in the slightest. She'll let Alistair take his head.
Dalish
Ugh. Elves. Just....elves! Thought the whole situation was stupid. Happily resolved it with both groups surviving.
Redcliffe
Can't stand Isolde. Or Eamon. Would have put forth a vote for Teagan to be king in all honestly. But opts for Anora because.....she honestly doesn't care.
Circle Tower
She's a dwarf. Doesn't get magic, nor does she care too. Saves the mages because she knows what it's liked to be looked down upon just for being born a certain way. Finds Wynne invaluable as a companion.
Companions
Dog: He's dog. Therefore he is awesome
Morrigan: she lives for the snark
Wynne: The mentor. One of the few that she'll actually listen to
Zevran: Kindered souls
Sten: Doesn't get the Qun, but loves his deadpan snark and warrior's honor
Alistair: Her fellow warden, and love interest. The guy that can make her smile
Leliana: REALLY doesn't get the Maker/Chantry. She's a firm believer in the Stone. But finds her personality intriguing.
Shale: You're a golem! Awesome!
Oghren: Yeeesh. You've seen better days. Great to have a buddy to drink with, and compare ass kicking stories.
The Blight/ Fereldan Civil War
Where. To. Begin.
She's a duster, and doesn't hide that fact. She knocked skulls for living and liked it. Now she's one two Grey Wardens, tasked with stopping a Blight, something that her people have always been fighting. The Joining sucked, bu at least it gives her an edge to stick hre sword into her people's ancient enemies without fear of going crazy.... or at least, her tainted blood put a hold on that for a while.
She fights for her friends, and most importantly her sister. Every slash of her sword, she fights to stay alive for Rica's sake. Especially so, when she finds out about Rica, Behlen, and her new nephew. She has more family to fight for.
Being a dwarf grey warden, her foremost concern was the Blight. She could have cared less for politics, and was definitely reading up on human history during her travels. Her year long journey changed her from a street thug to a true swordswoman of honor...she began to try to actually live up to the title of Grey Warden over the course of her trip.
Letting Morrigan and Alistair peform the DR crushed her, but no one would know about it. She shelved it on 'for the greater good' and left it at that.
Post Denerim
Shocked when she got the order to become Fereldan's Warden Commander. But she took the post. Didn't like having Amaranthine, but used that to build up the Warden's lost at Vigil's Keep, and for six long, loooooong years, began rebuilding the Order from there. She saw it as a you help me, I help you deal from Anora....
You give me resources to rebuild the Wardens, and I'll use them in turn to protect the keep and the city. After six years, she all but threw the keys to the next guy on her way out the door, happy to finally simply be a GW again, without all the trappings of ruling a small port city.
Next four years were simply dedicated to keep improving the Wardens of her country. Like Duncan, she and Alistair would travel on recruitment missions, sending those elgiable to either Warden's Keep or Vigil's Keep, and definitely would call on old friends like Zevran or Leliana to help whip new recruits into shape.
I headcanon she spent a LOT of time writing letters to Weisshaupt to the First Warden about conditions in Fereldan.
Now at 38 years old, she's taking her age into account. While she's not elderly, she is beginning to push towards 40, and the stress of having her life be a constant one of battle has begun to wear on her. So she jumped at the chance on the information to remove the Callings from the Wardens.
Aedan Cousland. How do I even begin to explain Aedan Cousland?
He is flawless.
I hear his sword is made from the bones of an Ancient Dragon.
I hear he is searching for a cure for the Taint in the West and his son is an Old God.
His favorite book
is "The Dragons of Tevinter" by Brother Timious.
One time, he was travelling with Morrigan and she told him it was cold in her tent all alone.
Loghain: One time he defeated me in a duel. It was awesome.
I hear he's a giant chicken.

My Warden Lydia Amell was a Circle Mage who helped her BFF Jowan escape the tower, and discovered he had betrayed her, but later she forgave him after he killed the Demon in Connor. After ending up at Ostagar, she formed a friendly relationship with Alistair who mistook it for more and later had to explain that she loved Zevran. She saved Redcliffe from the walking dead, and spared Isolde by returning to the Tower and gaining aid from the Mages. She rejected Cullen's wishes to kill everyone and he went mad. Poor guy. Saved the Arl after tricking the cult leader and gave the untainted ashes to the Brother to tell all.
Later her group ventured to the Forest and convinced the Keeper to give up his life to end the curse and saved everyone. Finally she ventured to the Deep Roads, killed the Broodmother and helped destroy the Anvil and place Harrowmont on the throne.
It was time for the Landsmeet and she risked all to save Anora and killed Howe. Always having felt respect for Loghain, and pity as well as refusing to have his daughter watch him slaughtered, while knowing good was left in him, Lydia spared him and had already pre-planned Alistair's marriage to Anora. He accepted and held a grudge, but did not hate her.
Lydia then saved the Market and Elves before heading to the Fort for the final battle. In an epic final fight, her and Loghain had become close friends and both did a killing blow on the Archdemon (lol that surprised me)! And Lydia, who cared deeply for all her friends had convinced Loghain to lay with Morrigan so he wouldn't die.
Lydia was beloved by Duncan (her Mabari).
Was sisters with Morrigan (Morrigan even called her that) and Leliana (and hardened her since it's befitting for her DAI personality, which my Inquisitor will then soften to what she was before the Blight).
A pal to Oghren and helped him get with his sweetheart.
She helped Shale discover she was a Cadash and Shale finally called her a person.
She was lovers with Zevran who stayed by her side to the end and even after (he sent her a letter at the Keep and they went to Antiva together after she saved Amaranthine).
And though Alistair was angry, he was still someone she loved as a brother, who greatly respected her despite feeling betrayed.
Wynne was like her elderly sister and teased her about her motherly ways.
Lydia was Sten's Kadan. She found his sword and saved him.
She was a bright spot in Loghain's life and he called her his friend, wishing to take the killing blow to spare her life (but she saved both of them from the sacrifice) and even visited her at the Keep later, giving her a lovely gift.
Nathaniel and her became very close. He would follow her into death and stayed by her side to the very end.
She showed Velanna that not all humans were bad, and they grew to become good friends.
Sigrun was precious to her and she loved giving her gifts.
Justice respected her, admired her and even confided in his secret envy of human love to her when he met Aura.
Anders and her flirted, but just for fun. She loved Zevran. She gave him a unexpected friendship he never saw coming and he stayed by her along with Nate.
She formed a temporary alliance with The Architect and his messenger fought alongside her to save the City. It was an amazing sight! A Grey Warden and Darkspawn fighting together to save innocent lives in a burning City! Later The Architect kept his word and Darkspawn hidden under cloaks tried to help people, though some caught the taint from it, and he kept the Deep Roads at peace.
She helped all her companions with their lives and helped anyone in need and killed those who harmed.
In the end everything was just perfect and happy and too lovely and not at all how I expected it to turn out. Lol and I loved it!
This is still a work in progress I still have to negotiate Awakening and the other DLC's but this is the main Origin story of my current warden
Name: Marvin Aeducan
Origin: Male Noble Dwarf
Class: Sword and Shield warrior
For the most part Marvin is an honourable soul willing to do what's best for his people but he also recognised that there were times you needed to get your hands dirty in order to accomplish your goals. After being exiled to the surface when he was betrayed by his own brother he promised himself he would one day get revenge. He then met up with Duncan and enlisted to join the grey warden order.
After what happened at Ostagar with just him and Alistair on the grey warden's books and realising all the others were dead he and Alistair realised that Fereldan's future was in their hands but knew they couldn't do this alone so began the search for allies so after Morrigan agreed to help with this search they went to a nearby village called Lothering to plan their next move. There they met 2 more willing souls that offered assistance a charming woman named Leliana and a stern Qunari figure known only as Sten The only issue being that Sten was under arrest for killing a family. With Leliana's help however Marvin convinced the revered mother to release Sten into his custody so he could help fight the Blight.
From there they headed to Redcliffe to meet up with a member of Alistair's family Arl Eamon to inform him of Loghain's treachery to the crown. Only to find out that in a way Loghain had got there first. Loghain had recruited a mage to poison Arl Eamon and worse there were undead causing trouble in the local village. Marvin quickly realised that in order to have a shot at saving Eamon he'd have to save the village first. So he and Alistair stayed the night there and defended Redcliffe from the latest wave of undead before investigating where they were coming from. They eventually tracked down the person responsible being Eamon's son Connor who had made a deal with a desire demon. Marvin quickly realised he was going to need magical assistance with this so after dealing with the immediate threat to Redcliffe they headed to Lake Calenhad and the Circle tower.
The Circle tower unfortunately was in no better shape than Redcliffe was. Blood mages were turned into abominations and were rampaging all over the place. Marvin decided that he would offer his help in cleaning up this mess in exchange for the Circle's help dealing with the Blight Gregoir the head Templar agreed reluctantly. After going through the door to start the clean up operation they met up with Wynne an old but extremely talented healer mage who offered her services to the operation as well as telling the wardens who was responsible for this chaos. Uldred one o the senior enchanters was on a mad killing spree. It took some time plus a trip through the Fade thanks to a rather obnoxious Sloth demon but the group was successful. First Enjchanter Irving was grateful for the assistance and agreed to help the wardens with the problems at Redcliffe. After the team returned to Redcliffe Wynne went into the fade and killed the demon. Thereby saving the village from any more terror.
The team then set out to find the mysterious Urn of Sacred Ashes the only thing believed powerful enough to cure Eamon of his Illness which was a hunt that led them from one end of the country and back again but eventually they tracked down a lead in Haven a small village close to the border with Orlais where they found a cult that were proving a pain in the ass Marvin eventually met it's leader Kolgrim and tricked him to show them where the Sacred Ashes was. Marvin went and passed the trials and got what they needed to save Eamon and killed the remainder of Kolgrim's group on the way out. Out of respect to Leliana (not to mention Marvin was starting to develop feelings for Leliana) and Wynne's beliefs. Marvin left the Urn unharmed. They then went back to cure Eamon who then promptly joined the mages in promising the Warden's his help with the Blight.
The Brecillian Forest was the groups next destination to try to convince the local Dalish elves aboard but like every other group in Fereldan it seemed they had their own problems .Werewolves were attacking and causing havoc to their main campsite. It took some time and effort but Marvin eventually convinced Zathrian to remove the curse he had placed on the werewolves many years before. After Zathrian's death Lanaya took over leadership of the clan and promised assistance.
Next was a trip back home to Orzammar for Marvin and while this was uncomfortable for him in some ways because people didn't trust him any more he was a glad of the opportunity to return to familiar surroundings. Marvin also thought this may be the only chance he gets now to strike back at Bhelen for his betrayal. On his return and hearing of the death of his father Endrin. Marvin decided to back Harrowmont fearing that his brother would corrupt Orzammar even moer if he was made king. So after dealing with several groups under Bhelens Influence he and Oghren set out into the deep roads to search for Branka who had gone out there herself for the Anvil of the void a creation made previously by another Dwarven Paragon Caridin. The group found both after speaking with Caridin and learning of the Anvil's true nature they supported Caridin against Branka. After defeating Branka. Caridin agreed to use the Anvil one last time to create a crown for the new king of Orzammar in exchange for the Anvil's destruction when it was done. Marvin then proclaimed Harrowmont as Orzammar's new king.
Next it was back to the surface to prepare for the Landsmeet so they went back to Redcliffe to meet Eamon and escort him to Denerim where the meeting would take place. Before this meeting took place however Queen Anora put forward a proposal for an alliance it was also briefly discussed that Anora and Alistair should marry in orderto unite Fereldan against it's true enemy but after Alistair's objections Marvin decided not to pursue the matter further given he was kind of suspicious of Anora what with her being Loghain's daughter and all he kind of felt this was Bhelen style corruption all over again just with humans. He even suspected it was going to be like this when Elnora Anora's maid came asking for their help in rescuing Anora from Howe but chose not to say anything for fear of tipping the other side off so went along with the plan. During the Landsmeet meeting Loghain's crimes were exposed and Alistair was put forward as Cailan's successor to the Fereldan throne. When Loghain and his daughter objected to this. Marvin suggested Loghain and Alistair duel as the most honourable way to settle the dispute with whoever won taking the throne. Alistair won the duel and slayed Loghain in the process. Now that the political rubbish was settled it was time to focus on the Blight and ending it. The group returned to Redcliffe to join up with their army.
When they returned to Redcliffe they got the news that the Archdemon was on the march to take Denerim. Both wardens knew that if the Blight took Denerim Fereldan was lost. So decided it was time for the final confrontation with the beast but not before one moer night's rest where it was revealed that one of the wardens must die in order to kill the beast. Fortunately Morrigan had a solution to this and while Marvin did feel uncomfortable becawuse he loved Leliana and not Morrigan he reluctantly agreed to the ritual so that at least if there was any chance he could survive he cou8ld then return to Leliana as she loved him as much as he loved her and spend some time traveling once the Blight was done. The following day the final battle began fir5st they cleared out Denerim's market with the aid of the Dwarves and slayed about 4 ogres and one of the Archdemon's generals in the process. Then into the Alienage and with Dalish assistance they killed another Ogre and the second of the generals. The elvges stayed with the wardens until they secured access to Fort Drakon. Once inside the team found more Darkspawn resistance but called upon Redcliffe's soldiers to help clear it out and whilst it was a tough fight that included 2 small dragons they prevailed. The group knew thant now the big fight to get up to the roof starts as thjey knew the only way this would end woul be to slay the Archdemon itself and the only way they could do this was get up to the roof. Eventually after kiiling some more darkspawn and demons they managed to get up there and call upon the mages to assist with the Archdemon's slaying which they gladly assisted with thereby winning the day for the wardens once again. Marvin in the end was rewarded by his own people by having his exile terminated and also given Paragon status among his kind. Alistair granted the Wardens Amaranthine as a base of operations and also promised an alliance with Harrowmont the new Dwarven king to try to help them protect Orzammar better from the Darkspawn horde they face every day. After the celebrations had died down Marvin and Leliana wandered off into the sunset happy as can be that they survived the ordeal with each other's help.
