Mineave is an apprentice and it makes sense to help her progress as some reward for her service. Solus brings this up to you, but he insists she not be harmed, only evaluated and he proposes we enter the fade for her final test as observers of an awakened mage in stead of a helpless harrowed mage. Or perhaps the player suggests that Solus could set the fade and that the player and one other can assist her if necessary. You discuss this at the war table and opinions vary with some opportunity to discus how it should be done. Then confront Mineave and she feels honored to be considered.
The first task is evaluation of team work and Minaeve follows the group:
1. collecting items (Alchemy is high and enchanted/fade items high) and
2. throwing up shield spells as well as
3. “quest aware dialog”
Minaeve increases your rare item loot with an occasional “oops” from a misfired spell, she is not the most powerful of mage and thus needs a POWERFUL staff. Part of Minaeve's training requires her to cast shield spells on you then a variety of elemental spells before it fails, this depends a lot on her confidence built with dialog choices. Solus suggests jokingly that he's lost enough hair with Minaeve's misfires and he passes you a purple amulet resist magic to begin the trial.
Reward for completion is tranquil staff materials with various elemental and spirit benefits.
Once you get approval for the war table and various others that might have critical input to the process Solus puts you and Mineave along with an observer into the Fade. You must help Minaeve rescue a spirit of compassion from Cory's demons.
Reward is delayed until Dagna crates tranquil master materials for all weapons -you buy them or do favors through Dagna to get them.
