This includes Medium and Light armor. Personally, I found that the companions have better looking armors than the Inquisitor. My personal favourites being Iron Bull who could potentially look like a literal Iron Bull by having him wear his Dread helmet and some badass high tier heavy armor, and Cole who could look like a cool Chinese assassin with his Kung Lao-like hat along with Dorian who has the best looking mage gear.

The Inquisitor's armor sets for all classes look very dull. Of course, that may be due to the severe lack of variety in design for the Inquisitor's armor sets. The faction armors do look unique but unless your playing as a human, you'll most likely not be able to wear most of them.

Weapon designs are a disappointment for me due to how each weapon looking cartoonishly big and how their a bit too shiny. I had hoped that most of the weapons were closer to real life medieval weapons, at least in terms of proportions.

What does everyone else think?

Generally love it.... Just not enough... Bioware, don't be a teaser and put armours in game that we can't access!

Hated it, especially for mages no good sorcerer-looking robes, and the Venatori have the best mage armors which are unavailable for the Inquisitor.

Also the helmets designs are abissmal.

well if anything else at least the armor is more practical, less ugly and less likely to get the user killed then the armor in DA:2 so that's something. Most of the armor in DA:2 made me cringe just looking at it.

The Venatori have the best armor design for their mage, and playing as a Qunari you stuck with silly war paint, but in DAII they have that unique badass but crude style. BioWare sure love taunting us by not making these things available to the player. :(

It wasn't impressive, it struck me as generic

Of course, compared to the fabulousness of Dorian and Vivianne, anything the Inquisitor was getting was bound to look plain

Yeah, I liked the Inquisitor's coat type armors but the companions had much better ones. Sera is a knockout in most of her armors, Vivienne has a really elegant one-piece crafted armor, Dorian's crafted leather armor is sexy as ****, Cole has some very cool pieces all around and so on and so forth. The Inquisitor, in comparison, has rather bland and uninspired armors for the most part and I hope future DLCs will really have more imaginative and creative armor designs.

I really enjoy the Inquisitor's armors, particularly the stuff for the mage. I like to think that somewhere out there, a lot of stupid robes are being incinerated just for the heck of it.

I liked the designs but I didn't like that I was forced to have a specific looking armor throughout most of the game if I wanted the better gear in the game.

To me, the armor and weapons feel a bit uninspired. Odd for a series with such rich lore and characters.

I was really hoped for some really great designs. Weapons were good, but I ended up slight variations of the same coat for the entire game because there was literally nothing else on offer.

Mostly loved it. There were a few silly weapons here and there (the Darkspawn sickle and overly large hammers mostly) and the lack of really heavy plate armor is a bit of a bummer but as far as design goes it's the best game of the three.

I do think the armor variety on the Inquisitor probably suffered because of the variety given to companions, thanks to them having custom-made armor. The game has a ton of variety in terms of outfits, it's just that almost 9/10th of it goes on the companions. The only thing I missed personally was plate armor, the light and medium variants suited me perfectly.

I didn't like that a lot of the cooler, more exotic-looking weapon designs were much weaker than the normal-looking ones. Magister Lightning Staff and the Honor Guard sword look far more unique and impressive than their stats would indicate. Some schematics for these would be nice.

The non-faction armors were all pretty similar for the Inquisitor across all classes so that was a bummer. As for weapons, they've always been oversized and sort of clunky looking, like Final Fantasy weapons. I would prefer in the future they have more variety in armors and more realistic weapons(as well as a return to the dark, gritty aesthetic).

I dunno the Orelisan Mage Armor is DA's version of a Snuggie - keeps my character warm. :P

Aside from sarcasm.

90% of the weapons and armor are UGLY.

While the T3 Mage Armor has some nice elements. The problem is my character looks like she has hooker boots on and you can see the PJs underneath. Not only that she has this book hanging from her belt like a telephone book from a pay phone. What? Does my Mage need to order a pizza on the go?

I really want to know why are the developers so obsessed with this pj outfit? What is wrong with having undergarments?

I really like the long coat and the shorter jacket with coat tails varieties of Inquisitor armour, but I'm not a fan of the scaled version. The metal just looks absolutely dreadful in this game (metal and hair - two massive texturing/modelling let downs in an otherwise visually stunning masterpiece of design), so any armour that has large amounts of metal automatically goes on my **** list.

I like some of the designs for companions, and not others.

All in all, I'd say this game is currently roughly on a par with DA2 for its ratio of nice:nasty, and for probably the first game ever I'm eagerly looking forward to spending ALL the pounds on armour DLC (I usually avoid aesthetic DLC as a matter of principle, but DA:I is so nice to take screenshots of - something I can see myself continuing to do for a while - I'd like to have a better chance of my team looking good while I do so).

They should have taken some inspiration from series like Dark Souls or Game of Thrones.

I sometimes would rather not play as a Qunari Male Warrior since I know I'll never look as badass as the Iron Bull.

I really wish there was good (in terms of both stats and a strong themed design) Inquisition armor and shields, for all tiers, so we could actually look the part and not like some random sellsword. Wearing any of the Warden or Orlesian or templar armors is out of the question for RP reasons (except for pre-Revelations Blackwall) because I don't want my character or her companions to pretend to be something they're not, and the default heavy armor look for the Inquisitor is really bland and uninspired. The dragon armor is better in terms of looks, but pants in terms of stats compared to others of its tier. Still, that's the one I stuck with just so my Inquisitor would have a decent unique look.

The companions definitely get the best designs, especially Dorian, Solas, Cole and Cassandra.

Weapons are often oversized RPG silliness. My biggest beef? No decent swords! For us sword & board types, it's pretty much axes or go home. I never even found a tier-3 sword schematic until near the end -- and if the game's own DPS calculation isn't horribly bugged, they're so far behind axes and maces it's not even funny.

The weapons are ok, but the armors are very uninspired... There are a few exceptions though like the dalish armors which are far the best looking armors in the game.

The game needs more armor variety because most of the models look the same. I want my character to look like a rogue or a mage and the frustrating part is that most models look a lot better on my companions then they do on me.

I hope that with time they will look into this.

I loved the Prowler Armour, especially with the Inquisitor Hat.

My Rogues (except my Qunari one) looked like gunslingers.

I love the mage and rouge armour, but I hate the heavy armour and weapon designs. I'm so glad that there's a non restriction mod for crafted armour.
