Hated most of the armor designs, no good plate armors for warriors or mage-y ones for mages. For a rogue I guess the armors were ok.

For staring levels the designs are ok but I always thought I never truly had an epic armor look like DA:O and DA2.
The designs mostly worked for rogues or mages. I always thought my warrior needed something more "heavy" looking, I don't know. DA:O armor comes to mind. Heck there were NPC armor that I wanted. The Ferelden army armor looked pretty good, even the Orlesian Chevaliers.

I liked the rogue armor for the most part. I'm currently doing Sword and Shield, and the coat look on warriors just wasn't doing it for me. I was happy when I finally found something that looked like actual armor. This is my favorite that crafted so far, especially the gold color.
I've only used one handed weapons so far, I like the daggers, swords and axes. Some of the two handed weapons when equipping companions look kind of ridiculous though.

Personally, I disliked most of the armours and weapons available to the Inquisitor.
On the other hand, I loved how you could easily identify the nationalities of NPCs by the clothing they wear.

Personally, as a mage, I'm happy to see a lack of robes. To me, using magic does not mean I have to dress like an ornate monk.

My only request would be to have something similar to Dorian's Iconic look.

All of that is secondary, it's the godawful hair-dos that needs to be fixed.
Don't for the the facial hair that isn't connected to the characters face.

I stopped using the Noble Shield for Cassandra because my husband said, "It looks like a Dragon's vagina."
Don't ask.

I want Vivienne's dress - screw impractical for bog traversing. Other than that~ I think your specialization should unlock different armor designs/levels. It's a bit odd to think a KE would wear the same armor as a force mage, for example. Theoretically, a KE should wear heavy armor since they're front line warriors (so a type of heavy armor that would provide utility slots that are actually useful to a mage)

That's a pretty cool idea.
In general I enjoy the customization. I'm not a fan of my inquisitor's penchant for buckle-covered leather dusters, but I can have fun trying to find the designs I like and crafting stylish and effective versions of them. I may be in the minority in this, though, but I do miss having robes.

I wonder why the devs did away with plate armor... Plate armor has always looked cool since Origins and its still a very common armor for warriors in many RPGs.

You may have just answered your own question. "Generic" is a term that got thrown at DAO a lot so it's possible, in an attempt to "Look Different" that Bioware avoided Plate armor and classic mage robes.

I really wanted the KE trainer's outfit and a proper mage robe would be nice just for variety.

not a fan, BioWare for me has a fetish for flaps, they just cant stop themselves they need to continually add stuff to armor that isnt necessary.
Tbh the only game of BioWare's where i have found armor i like the look of is in Tor, other than that never been a fan of there "artistic" design, if thats the right word
Amen to that, I got a male Qunari and the flappy half dress thing aint right man IT JUST AINT RIGHT!!!!

Weapons fine, although some are very weird. Armors, especially on an elven mage are awful. I've actually taken to wearing Qunari light.

Loved the armour designs. I play Mage so I haven't seen many of the Warrior/Rogue outfits, but I loved all the pretty coats and my Dalish armour!
The weapons are massively oversized as usual, I could do without that.
