Everybody stopped frowning!

...and it makes me smile.

Just yesterday, my friend and I had another DA night, and she commented on how her Keeper looks a lot prettier now - I then noticed that all the MP chars stopped frowning. If they always have to be in combat stance, this sure makes them come across less annoying.

I also didn't noticed Hunter S. Thornton actually has a lazy eye from his scar.

P.S.: Yes, this is Combat Strategy. It's all in the psychology, baby.

They all had makeovers on patch 3 (for PC) patch 4 (for console).

e.g. Alchemist & Reaver...

I'm pretty sure it came with the patch. Usually they have the in-combat frowns, now all my characters have a neutral, relaxed facial expression.

We're both on the Xbox One. But you know how BW is, not sure if bug or feetshar.

Yes, you're quite right.

I mean, usually it's the other way round, but I can see why she as a female feels a little screwed over by all of them looking rather... off-putting (or rather off-put).

I never knew the Reaver can look that nice. She reminds me of Gillian Anderson from X-Files a little.

You do need to zoom in, and a little sunshine on the Orlesian Chateau helps.

I've figured out a screenshot workaround, so I'll grab a better one of Tamar...  :)

The fix for this was actually part of patch 3 on PC, but only became available on consoles with patch 4.

Well, I must say, they look gorgeous...

I didn't expect it and was pleased by it.

Not that it's too important, but I always thought there is some disconnect between Archer Hall's personality and his actual appearance. I like that he's insecure and sort of socially incompetent due to his time spent alone and his general modesty, but his face looks like some die-hard veteran mercenary.

Interesting isn't it, how we have the faces we have,

yet judgments are made of who we are  :)

Much comes from facial body language cues that I suspect game engines are a little way away from yet...

Anyway, I've added all 12 screenshots above ^^,

I think they make a fine bunch of agents  :D

... looks a lot prettier now...

I think "looks slightly less ugly" would be a more accurate term.

I actually miss the frowns, but I guess I'm in the minority. I mean, I don't mind their more relaxed faces (great shots by the way, SofaJockey) but I always got pumped for multiplayer when I logged in and the characters where like "RAARGH I'm so ready to go out and kick some Red Templar butt!"

Now they look more like "Like, should we go out and fight or stuff? Okay, I guess.... like, whatever."

But it's just a personal preference. Since the general BSN consensus seems to be this is a good change I agree. I just get to imagine my Keeper doing her best battle-frown while attacking her enemies :D

Thanks for all the work, SofaJockey, by the way!

Seems I'm not the only one who takes the "lore" side of the MP a little too serious. I wrote this somewhere else already, but I care more for my Hunter than I care for my Inquisitor at this point...

I don't know what your usual standards are, but the face itself is indeed rather pretty in my book.

Thanks and it was fun.

Entering a private lobby and standing next to a bush was not too onerous :D.

I had not really had a chance to see the Legionnaire's face, for example.

And for all of them, there's some great detail on their faces that we hardly ever see.

Yeah, I like Rion's sort of craggy face, nice detail. Or is it burn marks?

I wondered that, too.

Either way, he has a very Tommy Lee Jones vibe with that detail. Momma likes. :D

Rion went into the Chateau to pose for this one :D .

Perhaps the long term affects of elemental magic on the face,

but now I think he's just a craggy characterful guy...

Why is it that the Arcane Warrior reminds me of Mitt Romney in full cosplay? I'm scared now.

Cillian.jpgmitt_romney1.jpg

*coughs* As if the behaviour they sparked in some players didn't scare me enough already. *coughs*

Perhaps we need to go for the full effect then

Yes, a very good cosplay in fact...  :P

Spoiler

My friend and I thought Rion had scars, maybe from overestimating his skill as an apprentice and having a fire spell blow up in his face.  Sounds like something he'd do  Best banter ever.

I wouldn't mind the Grrrr face part of the time, but now that the MP characters are less frowny it's easier to see how attractive so many of them are o.O  Can't say that I mind that at all.

I bet it's because BioWare added toilets to the architecture.
