OP I know the feeling. I got my game a month ago or so, still considerably late compared to release of the game. I remember when the waiting and the first few gaming days when I tried to Google as much info about the game as possible but still trying to avoid as any spoilers as I could.

Have an epic journey!

I didn't want to play until I'd run through DAO and DA2 again, just to make sure I got the whole story - I finally started about a week ago and spent 3 days in the character creator before I actually, you know, played.

I've read so much hate here and I couldn't care any less about it -this game is a freaking ball and I'm loving the results of so many years of work from the BioWare team. I'm withholding judgement until I'm further in, but this feels like the most... comprehensive might be the right word... modern BioWare game I've played. It's beyond good. It's gobsmackingly good.

I've played it through twice now and so I'm taking at least a 6 month break from it before playing it again.

I've STILL not bought it yet due to all the bad things I read about Keyboard and Mouse for PC. I'm scared to buy it then get mad because the PC controls are not to my liking. I don't use WASD either, I use ARROWS to move..ect.

Want to play this sooooooooo bad thou.

Edit:

Will it play well on an i5-2500k 3.3Ghz, 8Gigs RAM, GTX670 Video Card, Windows 7 64bit SP1?

Am Techless, but will try and help.

My system has 16 Gigs RAM, but the rest is about the same, esp the GTX 670. I reduce Effects Quality to LOW to help reduce the shine and smoke density of Spells and FX; also makes these appear more natural, and improves FPS. I also stabilize the camera to also help battle disorientation during play. Emptying the cache before gameplay is recommended; use Disk Cleanup before sessions myself.

Before any gameplay, I went thru all the Options choices and selected everything manually, esp re-mapping all the control Keys. While the Mouse keys may not be re-mapped, I do not require this myself. I chose WASD and QE for both Movement and Tac-Cam movement; recommend that you choose arrows for both, as this appears to be your favored config for gaming.

I currently have 540+ hrs of comfortable gameplay with KB&M on Nightmare Difficulty. I mention this as I am a disabled gamer with partial disorientation and neuropathy. While the KB&M may not be optimal for everyone, it is better for me than my gameplay on the ME series, SWTOR, and Skyrim, IMO.

For story purposes, I highly recommend re-creating your DA World States at DA: The Keep; a free service that allows the Player to customize their experiences a little more.

I just brought the game two days ago. Full price. Just getting into it

Best part so far, a depiction of the proper way to handle fish. Some one at Bioware actually knows about fish -- not like the folks at Bethesda (Skyrim) or whoever published the new Tomb Raider. Really, you donèt hang raw whole unsalted fish in the sun unless you want rotten maggot infested fish meat. You also donèt butcher a fish while holding the slimy thing in your hands, unless youère wearing chain mail gloves. Ièm serious, this has always bothered me.

There are a couple of sites online that will give you a rating or telll you whether you can run the game. I was also supprised by Nividia GeFrorce Experience while playing online when the sent me a message suggesting the settings I should use to optimize my graphics. I  tried running the game on ultra on all settings and  get 32 - 40 something FPS, dropped everything to high and got minimal improvements. Using the GE.. suggestions I dropped one setting to medium, turned off MSAA, went to fullscreen from fullscreen windowed and can now run at 40-60. I canèt yet tell the difference visually, but at least Ièm optimized.

I'm waiting for Patch 5 to drop first. Black Emporium and Auto Attack are a must for me.

I bought it at release (for a very good price). Still haven't played it, not even installed. Waiting for at least patch 5. I'm patient (and there were / are a lot of other games to play).

I bought it at release, but decided to wait until I felt like I had enough free time to play it regularly.  I started about two weeks ago.  Glad I waited too, because I've been spending pretty much all my free time playing :)  (on PC with a mouse and keyboard.  It's not amazing control, but it's not awful).  Plan to finish the first play through, then do a second after the Patch 5 release, I think.

I played it almost 3 times.

I'm on 5 right now.

I think I'll replay the first two games while I wait. There are some changes I'd like to make it and feels cheap to just change them in the Keep without experiencing it in-game.

Have fun.  Still in a holding pattern here, waiting for the game to be patched up for PC.  Want my first playthrough to be as bug free as possible.

Hope you enjoy it, OP. :D I wish I was playing it for the first time, with the discovery of all the new shininess ahead. I did the same and totally avoided the forums until I started playing, so everything new was new.
