I decided to try something a little different with my Assassin and went with the following powers:
- Stealth
- Evade
- Hidden Blades
- Flank Attack
Full Build here (http://da-skills.net...C,110,1A100,110)
The purpose of this build was to test out the effectiveness of the Stealth + evade combo when utilized with 'Knife in the shadows' and 'I was never here' passives. The thinking behind it was that I could in theory spam the hell out of Evade + Stealth. I was surprised with how effective this combo was on the hunter and thought it would be interesting to see how it fairs on the Assassin given the ability to remove any cool-down on Stealth and the potential to do even more damage with this combo.
I was surprised and a little disappointed to find that I was actually doing slightly less damage with this combo in comparison to using on the Hunter. However on the Assassin I could utilise Stealth + Evade far more frequently (every 3 seconds) than I could on the Hunter. This is because I was only reliant on the cooldown of evade as each kill reset any cooldowns on stealth. In addition to this, 'Dance of Death' meant that I never have to worry about stamina consumption as Stealth + Evade only consumes 40 Stamina and I get 50 Stamina back for every kill.
This set-up kills most mooks however for enemies like Venatari Brutes, Red Templar knights etc I Tend to use Hidden blades. Flank Attack in this build is primarily used to finish enemies off and get back into stealth instantly. This build requires you to be quite aggressive and so you want to be in stealth as much as possible to remove any aggro on you.
A few things to note with this build:
1. Evade becomes a lot less effective on a laggy host so ideally you want to be hosting or be on a good host to ensure its as effective as possible
2. This build will make you look utterly ridiculous, friends have informed me how silly it looks to run into a group of enemies and somersault from one mook to the next ![]()
3. Be aware of enemies that Perceive and break you out of Stealth, they can be lethal when your in the middle of a group of enemies and lose your cloak because some wolf or archer has spotted you.
Video below showcasing the build, note that this build was mostly tested on Threatening (Apologies about the sound, Xbone can be so frustrating to use sometimes..):
