I spent 15 hours to contact the HoF and all I got was this lousy belt?!?

Ok, color me surprised.  Twice!

First because I didn't even realize that there was an option to get in contact with the Hero of Ferelden until my second playthrough.  (That was my mistake for not talking enough with Morri.)

But second surprise came when, after launching that mission, and deciding that, "No, I'm not going to mess with my system clock to cheat my way through the time." all I got for my trouble was a stupid "Enhanced Belt of Healing" that wasn't even as good as what half my team already has, and only just as good as the rest.

Talk about disappointed!  :o  :(

Yeah, all these war table rewards are a bit naff. Alexius gives a cooldown amulet. Surely we could have had more interesting stuff?

I was kinda disappointed with that too, they could have done something so much more meaningful for the Warden's gift. The letter was nice, the origin acknowledgements, special stuff for whatever their romance was, bla bla bla, but the belt was a letdown.

I mean, can you imagine if the Warden sent the Inquisitor Starfang or something? That would be awesome.

You get a new letter/codex entry too, which is nice :)

As for the belt, didn't really care, by the time you can contact the HoF you should be fairly well off any ways.

Wartable missions are the primary reason why you theoretically can have playthroughs in the ecxess of 100 hours, ... no wonder when you have wartable missions with a 16+ hours timer.

I'm sure one of the reasons for those timers is to represent the difficulty or effort of any such mission, but what it comes down to is it being a cheap inflation of gametime.

Why on Thedas would the Warden relinquish one of their best if not the best weapon they have to a stranger half a world away?  If they have it with them in the first place (If they have it, they're probably using it).

That said, I would have liked something better too

I do kind of wish it was somethjng cool like a unique armor piece fit for whatever class you picked. That or a sword like Asturian's Might that you get in the Warden's Keep DLC.

how is it so ? if those are suposed to run while you play and AFTER you play, most my runs are of 3hours,2hours farming then 1 hour of story/quest

Hey, if you romance Alistair, keep him as a Warden, and do the Ultimate Sacrifice, he decides to give the last memento of the love of his life to Hawke, who he just met a few minutes ago. Cause protagonist passing something on to new protagonist feels. It's not without precedent. :S

'sides, Warden has probably found a better sword by now.

They can't make the war table rewards too good since you can just mess with the date/time settings on your console/PC to instantly finish any mission you start, making the timers kinda pointless anyways.

You don't know this, but that was the belt the Warden wore while killing the Archdemon.  That thing is priceless!

My Inquisitor sold it for like, 238 gold.

The sword Avenger is my biggest disappointment  :(

Even if I do the negotiations table quest right after it becomes available I always have much much better weapons by then.

If I was in control of my Warden, I wouldn't have given anything. It's my loot. You can't have it Inquisitor .

But yeah, it was kinda weird to just get a belt, while some random mission gives you the the 2-hander schematic in the game and is available earlier.

Apparently only High Dragons carries around useful, and unique items. It's best to forget anything on the war table, and become friends with a High dragon.

"Dear Inquisitor:

Sadly I cannot be at your side to help saving the world once more, but I'm sending my faithful Mabari warhound, tasked with the mission of becoming your personal guardian"

One can dream, right?  :crying:

Ironically you just proved their point. If you actually just stick to the story and do side quests as they are convenient. 1 story + 1 hour of side quests then you would still have a ton of missions left over that you still have to do. I was stuck time and time again waiting for missions to finish before moving on to the next part because I undoubtedly had several even though I did do more side quests than the average player. You literally have to spend your time farming and chaining missions to be done before the next story mission comes up. Which proves the whole point they are there just to inflate gaming time. They aren't fun, they don't offer much, and their rewards are often shitty. This game lacks good story and side quest. I'm tired of games being lazy and throwing in farming as a way to make the game seem like it has more than it really does. I miss games that took forever to complete.

The timing works out well if you're playing a normal amount each day. If you're marathoning the game, yeah, that clock will articificially inflate play time without system clock shenanigans. But if you are someone who just plays 2 or a few hours most days, those long missions run overnight. I found that I ran out of war table missions at roughly the same point that I reached the last couple of story missions.
