It's worth noting that, strangely enough, Mark of Death works as a prerequisite for Gaps in the Armor - you don't need to take Knockbout Bomb.

Recommend selecting Archery (all), and Subterfuge (all but Shadow Strike), then the Spec choices as desired.

An assassin archer should be played like a sniper and you should focus only on dex/crit dmg (you should have over 300% crit dmg by the end of the game). The assassin has 2 important weapons:
- 100% crit chance from stealth
- stealth cooldown is reset after a kill
Basically your endgame is to one shot eveything and restealth instantly. Common enemies are killed by a simple long shot, while tougher enemies are killed with full draw/hidden blades. Vs bosses/dragons you buff yourself (poison weapons, potions), cast mark of death, stealth and open with a full draw. I do over 60k dmg with full draw as opener which means insta 120-130k dmg with MoD. Use a masterwork bow and put hidden blades proc on armor for max dmg. (An even stronger version is to cast mark of the rift before MoD which extends MoD duration and then add leaping shot, hidden blades into the mix for over 200k dmg)
Longshot is your main weapon because it has a very short cooldown, however the range dmg bonus isn't affected by the attack bonus (which means it does less dmg than you would expect at max range).
The archer assassin is a very powerfull endgame spec, but it requires good planning and good knowledge of the game if you want to enjoy it for most of the game.
