Tevinter or Nevarra?

Now, I'm aware that neither option has any negative effects in the game. I just want to question which decision seems wiser.
On one hand, I really don't want to feel as if my character had lied to Dorian about not caring about what people say about the Inquisition being associated with Tevinter. I mean that talk with Mother Giselle.
And on the other, it seems crazy to officially and openly ally with them. It technically should result in great damage to the Inquisition's reputation. Again, I know the game is like "nope", but this concern can't be entirely ignored.
Truth be told, while not everyone is the same in Tevinter, those who oppose human sacrifices are the minority there according to Dorian. What the people of Thedas think of them is... innacurate, but not unwarranted.
Lastly, when it comes to what you can get from it Josephine believes that Nevarra's king can't offer much.
What did / would you do?

Is your character Noble? Because you can help both countries. I dunno which to chose, since I've always had the option to help both.
However, I would go with Nevarra.

I suggest this first ask Josephine on her opinion for the choice, then make the choice based on what you feel your Inquisitor would be the best option also as Cantina said if you play as a noble you can pick both. From my perspective I'd go with Nevarra

Tevinter is evil. Supporting Tevinter is the same as supporting Nazi Germany. Actually worse.

Honestly, it seems like a bit of a Catch 22.
To me it seems like a bad idea to help Tevinter because it's, well, Tevinter. However, they allow you to stay politically neutral.
Nevarra is a bit more palatable but then, if I recall, they demand that you ally with Nevarra and that Josephine says the Nevarran King doesn't have much to offer so it's a pretty one-sided deal.
I personally chose to help Tevinter since both countries are asking you to do the same thing but one demands that you make an alliance and the other does not even though Tevinter isn't what you'd call "trustworthy". I just made up for it by harassing them with the barbarians from the Fallow Mire later on.

I thought that Josephine gave sound advice, and I go along with her on it. King Markus is old with waning power, so this will be a one sided alliance, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread. Also, I consider that I've already helped Markus by completing the war table mission The Serpent of Nevarra, so I can afford to overlook him in favor of Tevinter.
You are given numerous opportunities to deal with Tevinter throughout the game, mostly through war table operations. I typically try to be "friendly" toward Tevinter because my goal is to show that they are not my enemy, Corypheus and his minions are, and if you're willing to help, or at least won't stand in my way, then we have no problems.
To that end I...
* Lend Magister Tilani political influence through Josephine rather than use threats.
* Allow Cullen to send "real" templars to deal with the attackers. The result is humorous, and also shows them we aren't f-ing around.
* Do send Movran north to gnat Tevinter, but then leave the Avvar to their own devices.
* Allow Josephine to bribe the Grand Archivist with gifts rather than steal or threaten.
* Follow Leliana's suggestion and send House Amladaris the information as a gesture of goodwill.
* Have the pleasure of letting the nerds at the Minrathous Circle geek out over translating the ancient texts I discovered. [Yes, I know there are no options for this one, but I still count it as showing the Inquisition's worth.]
* Allow both Servis and Alexius to live and recruit them to work for the Inquisition. I believe Alexius is no longer a threat and Servis was hired by a third party and is not loyal to Corpypheus, so I feel that not using them is a waste. They each have valuable information and contacts in the Imperium to make use of.
* Stop a war between Tevinter and Nevarra.
Back to this mission... For me there are some pros to helping Tevinter that don't come into play if you help Nevarra. I believe that having Tevinter as a friend, or at least as a non-enemy, is far better than the reverse. I like the idea of showing my strength without posturing, because that would just cause more Magisters to turn to the Venatori. This is a chance to show Inquisition military power near the Tevinter borders without directly threatening Tevinter itself, and you'd better believe they'll be watching. Siding with the archon against the Venatori sends a message to the Venatori as well as their supporters within Tevinter. It also makes a tentative ally of the archon himself.
We're all using each other and we all know it, but as long as the Venatori and Corypheus are on the losing side I'm fine with that.
And far down the line of considerations -- I won't pretend it's not in my mind at all -- if my dealings with Tevinter happen to benefit my boyfriend some time in the future if or when he returns to Tevinter, then that is also a pro.

Tevinter, Navarra is possibly going to erupt in civil war with a old king with a massive royal clan and no clear successor coupled with the fact a few the of the noble clans feel the current royal clan has held power too long as they been hinting at for the last several games.

I was a human, so I got in good with both of them. If I didn't have that perk, I would probably go with Tevinter. They seemed to have more to offer, and I think it would be good for everyone to see Tevinter being involved in something that benefits the rest of Thedas for once. Allying with them might hurt the Inquisition's reputation initially, but I think that it can take the hit in light of all the good press it likely gets for solving major problems across two countries.

I couldn't justify a Dalish elf choosing Tevinter
I like to remember this quote : "Whoever we were before, we are now the Inquisition". That may help unless you play a Dalish who doesn't really want to be the Inquisitor, I suppose.
