Ok, so I need a lil' help deciding on race/specialization combos for my warriors.

I have a dwarf male (romance Josephine), human female (romancing Blackwall) and an elf female (romancing Solas).

I had ideas originally, but the backstories kinda screwed them over. It all comes down to "what fits?'.

I had originally planned my dwarf a Champion, older and battle-worn. But with the Carta stuff, I don't see him fitting that role anymore.

Same with the elf. I originally saw her as a city elf Templar that Solas sways with Dalish-ness. But now a Dalish Templar seems weird.

And with all of them, no idea on Reaver. When the hell would a Carta guy, a noble Chantry member, or a Dalish ever have the chance to perform the dragon blood ritual to become a Reaver??? And I also kinda don't want another fem.Reaver, as my Origins Reaver was a Dalish guy, and my DA2 Reaver was a lady.

If it helps, dwarfy will be S+S, the other 2 will be 2H.

Suggestions please? :)

Well you get your specializations later in the game and there is a small quest and everything. So your character isn't a reaver/champion/assassin when he/she joins the inquisition. So you could nudge the stories abit.

The dwarf could be an older, battle-worn thug with a grim outlook on life. Then he meets Josie who's such a sweet and innocent girl. He falls for her and desires to become a better dwarf, for her and himself. So when Cullen hooks him up with a combat trainer, he becomes enamored with becoming a champion, a wall to protect others, a chance to prove that he's not just some scummy little carta thug, but a real hero.

Since the elf is dalish, you could reverse the swaying. She starts by believing in the Dalish way, but the inquisition manages to sway her to a more open minded, neutral view. Just because the person has no vallasin on their skin doesn't mean that their opinions are less valid.
Learning the templars way, while it is a very human thing to do, might be the only way to save Thedas from the demons. Also, learning the secrets of the templars could give her clan an advantage in protecting their own mages later on. Imagine if the keeper went and got herself possessed, how much harm could be adverted by being able to neutralize the keepers magic. Heck, the keeper could be subdued and saved. Also, if the clan could study the lyrium filters they might be able to cook up a less harmful substitute.
As for reaver, the teacher for the reaver specilazation is a lady elf, maybe your elf decides to take some pointers?

The human is a prime candidate for becoming a templar, since that was the original plan before the breach. Being a templar can also be helpful with dealing with the massive tear in the sky. Templars are also respected by the chantry, so learning their ways might earn the human some delicious brownie points.
Champion is also a valid specialization if the human wants to be more heroic, since champions are basicly the knights from those awesome bedtime tales the noble heard before going to sleep every night.
And reaver: They want to become a dragon? It's a valid dream you know, Hawke told me that. Hopefully this helps. Or makes you more confused...

Mid-typing I remembered the whole "trainers" thing, but I decided to keep my post oblvious just to see what people came up with lol

The dwarf man I see Josie shnuggling up to is definitely a nicer kinda guy, so I think Champion is locked in for him.

I think a Templar/Solas mix could be interesting were it real, arguing over whether magic should be let loose or monitered.

So that leaves Human Reaver with Blackwall... Maybe she gets all rage-ey after his reveal and frenzy's out on him lol
