Mind you, an ISBN would also come in handy...
I mean, maybe I can't really jump in here every time I want to write a character. I write FF every now and then, and you probably imagine how often (and in what quantities) that might happen. So, for people like me, the ISBN would allow us to just look at the book, and get it for ourselves.
If the book is too old to have ISBN, no problem. But it'd have to be over fifty or sixty years old not to have one.

And I'm not at all saying come to this thread every time you want to name a new character.. I just figured if someone was really stumped or something. Or just a future reference thing, write down several that I come up with. I just wanted to help people..

That's true, but I don't have it in front of me. I can certainly go look it up... I just was trying to be helpful to some people that maybe don't like or want to read or go buy a book just for this. Or hope their library has it.

Oh, I'm sorry if I came across as an a-hole.
I merely meant that for some people, an ISBN would be handy, but most, as you say, can't really get it, or hope their library has it.
If you do not wish to share the ISBN, such is your right, and I will not try to force you.

Its OK.. I've just been having such a hard time lately with no help(not related to gaming) that I just wanted to help others a little. But, for anyone who would rather get it themselves I have posted the ISBN
Hey, it's all gonna be fine. Nothing's ever too messed up that it can't get better.
You remember the song Mother Giselle starts singing during the game? "Dawn will come"? It talks about this stuff, exactly.
Everything gets better. Dawn always comes. Trust me.

So, how does the book 'work'? Is it just a list of names, or does it suggest names based on different aspects?
For mysrlf, when I name a character (or, more commonly, a Sim lol), i'll look up name meanings and origins, and i'll pick a name that means something to do with that character. EG: My 'evil' mage in DA:O was named Kieran, which is Gaelic for 'Black' and 'Dark'.
