So it has been a few days since I fought him (playing on NM this time) as I had to retreat a few times and I am pretty sure Spell Purge did not work on the electric rings.  Do I have to wait for them to activate? I think I purged as soon as I saw the purple below my feet but I know they don't actually ACTIVATE until a few seconds after.  DO I have to wait for them to activate before purge/dispel works or does it just not work at all on electricity rings?  Sorry I am at work and bored so I have to wait a few hours before I find out lol.

Yes, I believe you have to wait for them to activate before you can dispel them.

Confirmed wait for the rings to pop. Although if you are playing Melee heavy you might take a few ticks unless you barrier/ have guard. Which if you are a war there is no reason not to.
