The entire SP section often elicits the same sort of emotions for me, which is why I try to avoid it except for joke/troll posts about quarian things.

I did post once in that thread about the MP having a separate team hired specifically for working on it and thus not taking away from SP resources. I imagine by now some neckbeard has posted with all caps in response, detailing the alleged promiscuity of my mother. I haven't looked

Hopefully next game they won't bother with the tacked on single player laden with poorly written romances and just go for a MP-only game.

 

It will be F2P of course. Just think of it, a Mass Effect version of Warframe? I'm already getting hyped!

I second all that, it's like the people in the sp forums exist just to hate. I like the base game but can't stand the sp forums, it's one big hive of scum and villainy. I stay here in the mp forums, it's also a hive of scum and villainy but the good fun kind.

I love playing the multiplayer game,   from someone who never got into other multiplayer games,  I always tended to stick to single player games generally.  I've played thru the single player game several times, it wasnt until i attempted the multiplayer coop game that I thought, geez! what have i been missing!,   some 600hrs later I still enjoy it...

For the longest time I stayed away from MP as I didn't think it was anything for me, then being bored one night I decided to try it and I was hooked from the first minute.

I will only buy ME4 for the MP part which I really hope will be a development of the current concept rather than something completely new (damn if MEMP isn't one of the most fun gaming experiences I've had)

Heh - I'm not quite the opposite, but not far off.

 

I remember Team Fortress when it was a Quake mod and having to search for gaming servers inside the game client (i.e. before Steam) ... having to manually set the Baud rate and all that shizzle.

 

As far as ME3 MP goes, yes it's flawed, yes it's just a horde mode bolt-on... but BioWare (perhaps inadvertently) did something very clever with the mould - chucking in all the RP aspects, with a bazillion combinations of kit, powers and guns, made this MP more fun, and with far greater longevity, than I'd have ever thought even remotely likely.

 

... besides, you get to play as a Krogan, what's not to like?

Maybe I'll give this whole multiplayer thingie a try tonight.

I was right in there with the majority. When I did finally try the mp I fell into a White/Geth/Gold match with three pink Krogans. I was hooked.

how odd. my brother, a friend and i once took pink krogan into a game (ended up being firebase white) and started meleeing the fourth player who was a poor lil quarian gal. nothing sillier than being meleed by three pink krogan at the start of a game.

I'd say most people who tried MP liked it. It's just that haters are always the most vocal about pretty much everything on the internet.

well, strangely I turned from ME MP-hater to

what I'd call "biggest fan and admirer"

 

The reason was I had never played MP in games before.

 

And I hated that the SP was connected to the MP and that they forced me to play it !

in order to "save the galaxy" and get the best game-ending.

 

 

MP meant for me:

15 year old kids who have a lot of time and can play the whole day,

not letting people like me any chance to be competitive.

 

But then I learned that the MP is cooperative.

 

And after dying hundreds of times I started to love it.

 

Now - after 900 hours - am easily capable of soloing gold and STILL enjoy

the MP. Such a learning-curve and long-time-motivation is something

no Singleplayer could ever do for me.

I find the trillogy to be awesome (and still is / me1+me2 being the best tho).

ME3 had the MP & Since entering the MP section I sadly haven't had the time to replay the trillogy campaign ever since lol :-)

Back in the day, I  lost all confidence to play ME3 MP because my first experience with the demo was running in and getting downed literally within 2 seconds of the first enemies spawning, then quitting in embarrassment because I did not think I had the reflexes for a fast-paced online MP. These days I still run in and often die very quickly but I am significantly less embarrassed by it. I believe many people might be similar, reluctant to play online MP because they were like me -- singleplayer RPG fans primarily.

The first time I tried MP I set it to solo bronze because I was too embarrassed to show my terrible skills to anyone. I died without killing anything.

Oh good, I always wanted microtransactions to invade every single series I play. I hope they get to TES next.
