I have the shortlist perk and I've been trying for hours and hours to get the Superior Battlemage Armor.

I keep on going to skyhold, save, then exit the game. And I NEVER get the Superior Battlemage armor.

What am I doing wrong? Or is my luck just that terrible?

Not sure what the deal might be there, but honestly if it were me I wouldn't worry about it.  Pick one of the better heavy armor schematics you have (vanguard or above) and go mine yourself some Silverite from Emprise du Lion - then construct the heavy armor with Silverite as the main component.  When you do all class restrictions are removed, so your mage or rogue can wear it with no problems.

I've considered this but the boni from the Vanguard armors don't really suit mages; what do I want Strength buffs for when Mag, Will or Cun do so much more?

One of the reasons I wear Silverite Heavy armour (aside from aesthetics) is that it's really the only way to stack Constitution. Aside from extra hit points (which are always useful) it also governs melee resistance, the more of which means my KE is safer in melee then he is at range. Gather dawnstone from the Emprise and you'll be in line for a chunky Con bonus.

Magic/Will/Cunning are easily enough stacked on a staff and hood/hat.

I'm not sure what's going wrong. I saw this posted in another thread, and it worked great for me. I've gotten the Superior Battlemaster, Battlemage, and Prowler schematics, and I don't even have that perk.

Go to the Hissing Wastes merchant, open his shop, then travel to another location, open that shop's inventory. Save and exit the game completely. Go back to Hissing wastes, and there should be a new "Superior" schematic, different from what was there before.

I see the point, but I guess I'd much rather have 250-300+ points of armor as opposed to a few points added to my magic attribute.  The later is nice, the former has saved my bacon too often to be ignored.  Lol

Lol.. congrats.  Hopefully it will look a little nicer than some of the armor out there.  I mean that armor of the dragon stuff you get to start with - sure it takes a while to get something better than that stat wise but for the most part it's so godawful ugly I'd almost rather be caught dead than wear it.. lol

Well at least my Inquisitor looks good.

Are there any tier 3 elven robes you can get? Or is that part of the RNG?

Well, I'll give it a try for my KE run I've got going. Might as well since the female battlemage pauldrons are still bugged afaik.

Random question - why does deathblow sometimes only do one hit? Then randomly do two?

it hits twice if the enemy is under 50% health.
