I did a quick search and didn't find a similar topic and I hope this is the right forum~ Anyways:

What were your Inquisitor's retirement plans after all the rifts were closed and Thedas was restored to order (well relative order at least)?

I played a human pro-Circle mage so she established a Circle at Skyhold as its First Enchanter, which became the de facto guiding light for Circle reformation. She still occasionally messes around with Orlesian politics and is helping recruit and train a replacement set of Grey Warden mages.

My Dalish mage would disband the Inquisition and keep Skyhold as an institute to study the Fade. She herself would pursue study of the eluvians and orbs, hoping it leads her to Solas and/or to what he's looking for.

He promotes Cassandra to Lady Inquisitor and goes off on a super-secret mission that takes him beyond the borders of Thedas.

My human warrior would be looking for their next holy war and supporting the divine though has shown interest is joining the seekers. My human mage was a loyalist mage will have turned Skyhold into center for improving mage-Templar relations.

Warrior Cadash taking inspiration from Paragon Fairel is looking to establish a Thaig under Skyhold in the living stone and continuing to insure the trade flows in the south.

My character, after having effectively been left by Cassandra, hopes to find a glorious end.

My Adaar was 10000% done with the Inquisition at the end of it all, so she promoted Cassandra to Inquisitor and joined the Chargers.

Did her clan die in your playthrough? Also Solas is such a bad egg  :(

My primary character at the moment, Magnus Trevelyan came out of retirement to become the Inquisitor in the first place, much to his chagrin.  The now grey haired "Red Baron" as he is sometimes affectionately called (thanks initially to his bright red hair and then later in life the nickname stuck thanks to some rather garish red armor that was given to him by his younger brother) wishes to do nothing more than return to his small holdings in the Free Marches, kick up his feet in front of the fire and delve into a really good book while petting his favorite dogs.

Until DLC/DA4 forces me to change my headcanon...

Trevelyan ended the Inquisition once all the rifts were closed and moved to Tevinter with Dorian. He keeps busy assassinating magisters while Dorian does his Redeemer thing.

My future DW human rogue will definitely be doing this. He will definitely be doing the totally inadvisable of figuring out if there is a safe way to enter the Black City and see what it has to offer. When he's not using all of the favors and power he gained to drive world politics from behind the scenes that is. Prepare yourself, Thedas, for the New World Order. :P

Mage Adaar is maintaining the Inquisition as a force for peace and less Machiavellian political influence. She's just concerned with justice. It's kinda sweet really,

The current Lady Lavellan will be studying the Fade and Eluvians to unravel the mysteries of her former lover, and using the knowledge from the Well to revive the world's knowledge of the ancient elves, and use it to uplift modern elves (and advise them to avoid the not-so-great parts of their past). I neither confirm nor deny that she may help Solas if she ever finds him and discovers his identity.

My Dalish assassin probably ended up marrying Cullen, and acquiring Skyhold in some underhanded way to counter the disbanding of the Inquisition, so it still has some sort of power. Not that she's power hungry, but more that she doesn't trust the Chantry... or the rest of Orlais... or Thedas for that matter, to cope on their own. I'm also pretty sure she's largely disowned from her clan, what with being a shem demigod and shacking up with one and all...

Like a few other posters, my Dalish assassin would turn some of the Inquisition's power toward studying mysteries. Red lyrium, artifacts and ruins, the Fade, you name it. However, I don't see her retiring as such for a very long time. Though the rifts are closed and the enemy defeated, the world isn't at peace. If the epilogue slides suggest anything, it's that nothing long term has been established in any direction. Therefore, my girl would attempt to put things to right as best she can, making the Inquisition a stabilizing force for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't be a stretch for her to push things in favor of her people, either; the elves need a powerful advocate, and she knows this is an opportunity.

It's not like she has anyone to run away with. Oh, Solas.

Yes, they did, but I don't think she'd go back anyway.

I'll hold on to that throne 'til the day I die. Anyone tries something funny and they'll get fade-rifted.

Dalish Warrior will make up for the mistakes of the death of his clan and not helping the elves of Orlais. Will makE Skyhold a safe haven for elves.
