Also, Deathward is a nice weapon. Makes you feel immortal as long as you can keep shooting.

I have have both Fury and Pyre and IMO, Pyre has some edge over Fury and it can cause burning effect quite frequently due to heavy fire damage. Pyre has also higher attack % with enchantment which might/should transfer to damage of your spells.
I don't think I know what Pyre is.. so I'm guessing I haven't gotten that one yet. The strongest fire staff I have is the Sorcerer's Staff w/ +30 magic or willpower on kill.
Edit: oh crap wait a minute i hope i didn't salvage that

i wanted to answer your question... but if your looking realy for better damage on a keeper.. your just another lost soul ![]()
The best damage a keeper can do.. is to keep the other 3 dd´s in his/her party alive....period.
iam using my defense veil ( i do have other stats on my dd veil but thats another story ) on my keeper.. just bc i can skip the HoK for more cc and fancy rings.
A good keeper can even keep a rubbish pre. party alive and carry them through the whole match.. at level 9 if your good.. and at level 12 even not so good players are able to do that.

Hmm.. I wasn't asking about anything for my Keeper. But I realize that's what this thread is about. I was simply asking about known staves.

my mistake .. i thought you did start the thread.. mhm... i should go to bed.. ![]()
you know what pyr got ? armor penetration ... Does not affect non-physical damages... but psssssht
overall you will have 1 more basedamage 4% more attack 14% guard damage bonus vs 2% veil and 25% barrier damage bonus.
Its a matter of taste... for me at the end.. i always use the veil... since there are simple more mobs with barrier as guard

Nope. I did that.
Essentially looking for the proc\stat that affects the ability, well, to Keep, not to max the dps.

I have the Forgotten Pyre staff, Fury of the Veil, a purple enchanter's something staff with a chance for mind blast, and Deathward. Forgotten Pyre was the first epic staff I ever got and its the main one I use today. The others I actually got very recently(Like a few days ago recent.) So I'm experimenting with them.
I do like Fury of the Veil's chance for Veilstrike, especially since I'm in the middle of the mobs usually with the melee so the knockdown is a boon.
I think I would use Deathward in an organized group, the heal on hit is nice. The one I have though has significantly less damage than my other staves(15 less base weapon damage.) So for pugs I will usually go with Forgotten Pyre, that way I can hold my own if the group is struggling.
Final verdict is in the air for me though, need to experiment more.

1. what weapon for a keeper
2. veil is okay for an aw... and since your 1 shoting almost every mob anyways veil doesn´t matter to 90% of the time on an aw... but your right..... the 25% bonus to barrier mobs + knockdown on some special mobs which are flying away all the time.. is boon.
3. sorry... had to make some fun.. and knockdown isn´t bad... just when your net/hoster is terrible it can be painfull.. but oh wait.. nah it isn´t.... i still 1 shot 90% of the mobs... lol

Fury of the Veil is probably the single best staff for a Keeper. It has very high damage when paired with a superb spirit rune, you can customize it with even the tier 1 schematics to Hok, and everytime you use fade step or chain lightning, your 2% chance to cast veil strike applies to every enemy you hit, resulting in more frequent knockdowns. Plus when you lock enemies into a static cage and then use these abilities, the group is so close together that it knocks down the entire party of mobs. Even on basic attack, this staff has saved me from a lot of charging baddies.
Plus the keeper's natural element is electricity, so it even feels "right" in that sense.
Edit: I even use this staff with my elementalist. Anything that hit's multiple targets (i.e., Firestorm) is a blessing. Don't underestimate the beauty of grinding your enemy's faces into the dirt before you finish them off.
