Assassins strike again! Youtube's flooded with Thousand Cuts spam so I gotta fight back somehow. 

 

 

I got inspired by Xarius478's 20-second kill. This is nowhere near as stylish, but I remembered that he was hoping to get it done in one MoD. Sadly I think he pushed dual dagger assassin to its limit and it wasn't quite enough - but bow assassin is a different beast!

 

I decided to try one without using any consumables. Way more interesting, IMO, though the numbers aren't as big. =P

I have "best in slot" crafted gear; if it seems ambiguous, look for the stuff that you can pack the most dex or crit damage into. Rings were 20% crit damage and I had the 10 dex amulet. Masterworks were 5x Hidden Blade and 30% bonus damage after 5 secs of not being hit.

I was under the impression that rings don't stack?

Rings that modify certain abilities don't stack (Enhanced Ring of [Skill]). I'm referring to Superb Ring of Critical Damage, though, which just gives you stats that you can check on your attributes page. Definitely stacks!

Nice. It's ridiculous how many exploits are available to properly done rogues.

Rogues were the worst class by far in Origins, but dual-wield rogue Shadow Assassin is the best in DA2 and bow rogue Assassin is the best in DAI.

That is impressive. Especially as my average time for Dragon killing is about 8 minutes

The other guy with the 20 second video didn't have min maxxed gear so he could've done the same thing really. For instance compare the other thousand cuts videos on youtube and mine which is pretty close to fully optimized 

 

That's like half of a thousand cuts. And yes I'm aware of the Fire flask thingie, but it doesn't matter to tell you the truth if it dies to less than 1 thousand cuts.

The guy with the 20 second video was pretty close to maxed and essentially played perfectly. 7 seconds would be impossible for a dagger rogue unless he uses a Focus ability. Nothing against Focus abilities, but I just prefer to not use the really strong ones.

Oh, way sick. But yeah, kind of confirms what I was saying. Looked like you were playing pretty optimally; I don't think dagger rogues can get much faster than 20 seconds with tonic/without focus.

So help a guy out who had to get his dragon's bane achievement across multiple playthroughs, would you please post your build and if possible gear stats? Because I've not managed to come anywhere close to that kind of damage outside of a few lucky Reaver hits, and even there I've maxed out at about 4K.
