I can certainly understand your point of view. I'm part of the hardcore balance faction. I most enjoyed Day 1 not because it was fresher, but because good weapons and kits were hard to come by. Teamwork back then was the only good way of winning, because when your best weapons were the Tempest and Katana, gunning everything down, even on Gold, was simply not an option.

I don't think it's so much a power creep thing. Certain old kits are super powerful. Both the Drelldept and Drellguard are just amazing characters and they were superb even before grenade capacity was a thing. Novaguard, while much-maligned, it great. Asari Adept, Human Sentinel, Turian Sentinel and TSol are all superb. Krogan Soldier and Sentinel were always decent. The Infiltrators are infiltrators, but I think that problem has more to do with TC giving too much of a damage buff. I think it should've been a quarter of what it is, but given a better duration and a better power buff.

I think infiltrators only really were out of hand once the GI got released, never got properly balanced, but then the game got good again because the novelty of the GI wore out a bit and people tried other classes. Unfortunately, then we got the AIU and TGI and the Geth Flamer Soldier. Why do I dislike those characters? No teamwork. People just take them and go off and do their own thing. The Juggernaut is an OP team class but I love having a juggy on the team because most of them try to tank for their teammates, and I appreciate that. Same goes with volus teammates.

I totally agree on that. Although I always wonder what happened to a couple of things between me2 and me3; for example the locust, mattock and carnifex ending up as silver and gold weapons after being super awesome guns in me2... Locust was such a beast and now hurricane or csmg are so much better. Mattock is now harrier; carnifex is now paladin and talon acolyte scorpion.
The sentinel was god in me2 - now idk compared to all those powerfull soldiers, infiltrators... They lost a lot power.
I'm curious what they gonna do in me4. If u have a collection of all those guns or if they program the game with brand new items only. ;)

Krysae and Reegar were same dlc btw - my reason for the comparison.

I picked this game up on release. First thing I did was drop into a GIP Reactor/geth as a Human Engineer. First full game I had was fire base ghost/Cerberus with the same character.

Got instakilled by a phantom and knew this was the game for me.

I remember when the geth plasma shotgun was the gun.

I also remember when survival packs would activate after you die -- oh wait

And let us never forget jiggly quarian bumbum.

I played ME1 on release and have countless hours poured into the trilogy.  I played the demo constantly and mixed my time at the start between SP and MP.  Switched to MP exclusively once I had finished a playthrough with each class.

I miss the days of balance changes and when everyone thought the eagle was useless

I always found that strange since the eagle was a better phalanx, and the phalanx has always been considered a great gun, especially considering it's uncommon.

I purchased Battlefield 3 solely for the early pass into the MP.

How many here can say the same?

I still remember the days when I couldn't post on the old BSN ME3 forum because it insisted I was not a "game owner" despite I've registered my game. Thanks to the new forum, feels less *dramatic* but at least I can post now.

Back in my day infiltrators were marksmen. They could even get it to the point where they could 100% uptime with pistols. They single-handedly took down Geth Colossi. Also the geth seemed to have a lot more colossi, but now that I think back to it I guess I blew them all up which is why they aren't around lately... /shrug One mystery solved.

Anyways...

Back in my day Ashley was like, 34B not 36D.

Back in my day gay romance in a mainstream video game was still, well, not groundbreaking but pushing things forward. Then again at that point small chested women didn't exist in video games yet either... Bioware really pushed the envelope back then. >.> <.<

Locust was such a beast

This, was such a disappointment. That thing outclassed assault rifles. Would've been a nice UR. Something that's fairly accurate, hits fast, and hits hard. (Isupporttheoxfordcomma)

We didn't have to f*cking reload. -.- I get you wanted to flesh things out with the "omgammopickupgame" but I don't think ME2 needed it for the reasons you thought it did. I was pretty happy to see the blurb about the Lancer when I first read it though.

Back in my day Multiplayer was, unnecessary.

But I'm glad we've moved forwards. :D

I remember a time when the Reapers were considered the hardest faction and Biower said that nobody had beaten them on gold yet. I started day 1 on release day with ME3, so I was there every step of the way, although I was forced to stop playing for a few months due to school.

I was more of a lurker back in the old days of BSN, but I remember all the crazy drama like my first exposure to a lolSuperblaze thread which was about enemy weakpoints, and of course Bacon's glorious exit among other memorable moments. With ME3's life cycle, I guess I would be considered a caveman.

I started the ME series 5 years ago, which was great, 'cause after I finished the first one, the second one had only been out for a few months and I didn't have to wait to continue the story.

Good times. I remember failing a Reapers/Bronze match because the Banshees were impossibru to kill  I also took a long hiatus from this game due to travel and college while most of my friends were playing 24/7 >_> So I missed out a bit on BSN golden days.

QFE was my first love, the kit I obsessed over trying to unlock. And I remember at the time she was widely considered the worst kit in the game. But I remained loyal to her after unlocking her, and now she's quite respectable (even without a Claymore).

The character u picked to outscore wanna-be-pugs-with-tryhard-GIs :P
Hahaha; a pleasure!

That'd be like saying "This one class with the Talon is really good."

I mean like, no kidding. The Talon is good on anybody, natch. Line up headshots with the Claymore and woohoo, things die. If you don't mind the cooldowns, which really, doesn't that defeat the purpose of playing a particular class?

Actually I can play her just fine on any difficulty with a variety of weapons. I played her with an Eviscerator while recently completing shotgun mastery and still got above 200k on an U/U/G game just fine. There is nothing wrong with the kit except for the lack of broken mechanics to exploit. Not every engineer has to have an "I win" combo that works on all defenses and requires the massive skill of pressing two buttons in sequence. QFE has a fantastic debuff, a good offensive power (that includes a spec which synergizes with the same debuff) and situational but useful pet. It is precisely because of her lack of natural combos (other than cryo on health and lolflameturret), low cooldown debuff and turret which isn't reliant on cooldowns that I find her to be an ideal engineer for heavier weapons such as the Claymore

I could just put some tiny caster gun on her and spam cryo combos as you and every other "weapons R bad hurrdurr" person on this forum suggests, but then what is the point of playing her over the Paladin? I've found something that she does uniquely well in the engineer class and that's what I like doing.

Fixed :P That filthy quarian is just an imposter. The real, original claymoar FQE was from PC land, and there's proof of it on YouTube :P

So because some krogan makes youtube vids he is now the authority on how to properly L2quarian? My QFE has been a shotgun toting badass for as long as I've played the kit and before I started posting here. Besides, anyone can aim a claymore with a mouse, keyboard and a framerate above 1 per second. I'm the quintessential PS3 claymoar quarian and therefore the best one :P.

Slippery slopes, my friend. It was that mindset (weapons to rule them all) which gave rise to the lameness of the top-tier infiltrators that break everything with no teamwork whatsoever. I just oppose it out of principle. :P

Infiltrators were broken before any weapon power creep took place because of cloak and its ridiculous cooldown override of every power and weapon weight loadout. Besides, what do you mean by "no teamwork whatsoever"? Does this include every powerful caster kit that can make its own combos at will, in particular kits like the Fury, Vsent, Valkyrie, DA, Paladin, and QME? Perhaps the original AA that now tops the Plat solo HOF leaderboard? What about the invincible vanguards that have been around forever like the Novaguard, Drell and Krogan? I hardly need teamwork with any of those on any difficulty to singlehandedly wreck every enemy on every wave, and unlike an Inflitrator I won't even need a decent weapon with most of them (or even a weapon at all.)

I'm of the opposite opinion. It isn't guns like the Claymore that break the game (it has great power but also proportionally heavy weight). It's the zero weight pistols and SMGs that are now more effective than most of the heavy weapons even on dedicated weapons platforms (Talon/ Hurricane GI/TSol or QMI Arc pistol anyone?) because the caster types couldn't stop crying that they needed both top tier weapons AND 200% cooldowns at the same time to compete with the irrevocably broken Winfiltrators, which ironically just made the latter even more broken.

I still remember one of the first demo matches on White. I just got the Asari Adept, one guy had a Krogan and we all went nuts about it.

As another player actually used Incendiary ammo I didn't even ... it was magic. I watched that poor Bronze Ceberus Troopers burn  and it was beatiful

I've seen some others. Among BSN, Ranylyn normally puts a Claymoar or Raider on his QFI, and he's pretty efficient with it. I should invite him to the next game we play. You could play your Claymoar huntress, and the killfeed would be quite amusing.
