Shhh Ruggles. Don't say his name.

But I need to be told that Sony rules gaming and that PC gaming is dying!

5-6 hour game with half of that being cinematics and QTE, no replayabiliy to speak of and no MP to extend game life. The three in combination are what kills it, games with no MP are fine and so are short games but you'd want them to be replayable if that were the case.

Man it better be a damn good movie at $60.

Just another reason not to pre-order AAA games I guess.

I can't wait for 90 minute singleplayer games. Ya know, for that authentic cinematic experience.

Halo 6. Preorder now and get a Master Chief- themed popcorn container.

It smacks of a game where the publisher was calling the shots from the start, hence all the QTEs and cutscenes. And if they're really unskippable? Jesus, who's bright idea was that? Someone on the CDPR site said it'd be Sony's version of Ryse.

Can't tell if that's a joke or not.

It looks like the exact same location.

Good thing I was never interested in this turkey. I'm almost tempted to get it when it's dirt cheap just to see how bad it is(or I could save the dough and watch a let's play).

I've had a PS4 for almost a year now and the only games I've gotten for it are Killzone: Shadow Fall, CoD: Advanced Warfare(which i gave to a cousin) and Super Stardust Ultra. >_<

That's only really a big deal if graphics make or break a game for you.

Having recently played through it, I still maintain that Half-Life which came out in 1998 is a game I enjoy more than any modern day FPS.

Solid game design doesn't need 16GB of RAM =P

It's not just graphics. Memory is essential for a lot of other features.

Depends on the type of memory. VRAM for graphical procedures, RAM memory for allocation of the program in space.

Yeah, the same kind of games that could've been released on that ancient hardware anyway.

I don't care about graphics. My point was that the design of games doesn't seem to justify the distinction anymore. So is it really just graphical changes that determine if something is next gen? I actually find it hilariously sad that people will hold graphics in such high regard when determining if something is next gen so maybe it's something I don't "get". Probably because this one component of a game as criteria is stupidly narrow.

Oh yeah, I agree that there is a lot of overheated rhetoric surrounding "next-gen" that focuses on some rather superficial things.

We got open world RPGs on the PS360 and while a game like The Witcher 3 is iterating on those concepts CDPR's vision still wouldn't be realizable on that ancient hardware. We might not see some transformational change that ushers us into a new age like with 2D -> 3D, but I am fine with seeing the same things being done better and taken further, bigger cities with more lifelike populations, more destructible environments, more enemies, etc. I read comments from BioWare and Naughty Dog saying that they had to cut animations due to console constraints. I'm not expecting anything earth shattering from ME4 or the next Uncharted but I look forward to seeing what they can do without being constricted by a console made almost a decade ago.

Are games getting more...lackluster?

Of the entire catelogue, I only have Wolfenstein, and now Inquisition.......two games..........

I had hopes for 1886, but now that's up in the air, my only other option now is Bloodbourne or Witcher 3..........

All of this on top of the choppy performance is probably not going to bode well on this game. Even their 'vertical slice' had some odd performance issues.

Hyperbithero did a good video on this a while back; seems like the design philosophy (heavily emphasizing story and visuals at the expense of gameplay) was misguided at the start. The project director literally said in an interview, "Gameplay is something that . . . it's a game, we make games, we can't get around it." Not a recipe for success.

Yeah I guess most of the time you can only go up with new hardware. As long as people know what costs comes with that. Games aren't cheap these days, in more ways than one.

Lol word?

Well if this game bombs I'll be glad to laugh and say, "That's what you get." I have no sympathy for anyone who approaches game development that way. Like, why is the dude even at his job? Sounds like this industry isn't for him.

I agree that if it were 5-6 hours it would ridiculous, but I think it's worth pointing out that the creators of the game has said shortly after this was said that this wasn't the case, and that players would definitely need more then 5-6 hours to beat the game.

It's a shame too because I like the concept behind this game

Should've copped that Guilty Gear Xrd. Unless it's terrible.
