This thread is aimed at a very specific group of people: players who have obtained most of the best items, have high promotions, and have min-max'ed the game for all its worth and are bored to tears because of how easy the game has become. This thread should contain recommended omission of abilities and/or recommended gimped builds for the purpose of increasing challenging gameplay. Basically, over 90% of people can disregard this thread, and if you would like to make a post about how this thread is useless, please note that I already know full well it is useless to most people, and please spare me that information.

 

One of the most enjoyable aspects of a game is challenge. In order to avoid making gameplay too easy, overpowered content needs to be nerfed, but unfortunately, it is sometimes not nerfed or is nerfed belatedly. In such a situation, most people will simply make use of their knowledge of what is most overpowered to farm as much gold and xp as they can, defeating challenge and variety (min-max'ing always means avoid using weaker content) in the name of greater efficiency of progression.

 

This initial post will list a few abilities for some of the better classes, which if omitted, will reduce their effectiveness and put them on more equal footing with the weaker classes. In the future I may update it with complete gimped MP builds if there is enough interest. Again, most people can just ignore the thread, it is aimed at those people who feel like making a deliberate decision to gimp themselves in the name of increasing challenge at the expense of reducing their effectiveness.

 

If people would like to recommend other omissions or complete gimped builds, feel free to do so in this thread.

 

Veramis' gimped MP abilities omissions list (BTW, I pledge to promote all my characters and then follow this list to the letter until serious balance changes occur):

 

Alchemist: Play as you wish

Arcane Warrior: Spirit Blade, Pull of the Abyss upgrade

Archer: Opportunity Knocks, Mark of Death

Assassin: Hidden Blades, Cull the Herd

Elementalist: Firestorm, Barrier upgrade, Death Siphon

Hunter: Play as you wish

Katari: Play as you wish

Keeper: Barrier upgrade, Knight-Protector, Static Cage RING, 

Legionnaire: Walking Fortress, Counterstrike.

Necromancer: Death Siphon, Walking Bomb upgrade

Reaver: Play as you wish

Templar: No wombo combo (Spell Purge+Wrath of Heaven)
