I know that the darkspawn aren't the focus of DAI, but the collector's certainly weren't the focus of ME3 and they made it into multiplayer. Darkspawn are iconic for dragon age and since there are already darkspawn you can fight across Thedas it won't mean that all the enemies will need to be freshly created. This would be a really great addon to multiplayer. I'd love to see this happen.

I would expect them to show up sooner or later. They need a more filled out roster, though. If we see a singleplayer dlc featuring Darkspawn, I wouldn't be surprised if their addition to multiplayer followed shortly.

I think the only problem with that is that they'd need to create a bunch of new body models because currently hurlocks are the only ones included.  But, if they went back to the DA: O roster, they could add genlocks, emissaries, ogres, and shrieks.  Who would be the 'boss'?  An 'awakened' darkspawn?  A broodmother?

A Hurlock Emissary could make a good boss.  Or maybe a Hurlock Omega.

I've come up with some more ideas around the darkspawn race. 

 

Units:

 

Footsoldier = Hurlock

Archer = Genlock Archer

Rogue = Shriek

Mage = Genlock Emissary 

Brute (e.g. ventori brute) = Hurlock Alpha

Giant (e.g. RT behemoth, pride demon, etc.) = Ogre

Commander = Genlock Alpha
