And also this - Mermaids: The Body Found

People totally thought it was for real when they aired it a few years back.  Hilarity ensued.

Was grinding on Persona 3 and decided to watch this because I love Vagabond.

This mofo talked more about how he can kick everybody's ass more than he did of Musashi.

That reminds me of their megalodon shark one. That was so horrible, and they did a sequel to it!

Way to ruin Shark Week Discovery.

Took a documentary course a couple years ago. This was one from that line up. I think has more of a movie quality than a a straight documentary. Pretty odd but enjoyable picture of a culture & the animals they live with. A mother camel rejects her odd white offspring & the film follows what that rejection means for the family caring for the animals & what they have to do to save the young animal.
---------------------------------------
I think my favorite docu would be the Winged Migration. Though some of that was certainly staged. It's weird to think about how birds have been doing these journeys for millions of years, dinosaurs before them likely did so as well. To capture something that ancient, even if parts were staged, creates a pretty powerful picture.

Shark Week makes me sad. The only one I liked in recent years was that "Alien" Sharks one, about deap sea dwellers. Discovery really took the SYFY/G4Techtv route of dumping their true programing for rating schemes, look where that got them. SYFY was like wow big mistake & turned around a bit. Actually turned out some interesting television last couple years. G4Techtv is deader than the programing they had shoveled off the network roadside. Some of those old G4Techtv docu-like shows were pretty interesting though, kinda wish we had something like Icons still going. I think it was Icons that covered interesting IP's & Devs, right? Battlebots is coming back, so maybe someday.

Anyone following PBS's Earth: a New Wild? That's been a pretty fun series so far. They kind of touch on rewilding, holistic & predator friendly livestock grazing, and a number of other topics.

This one covered a very weird & tragic subject. Exotic animals in the U.S. being kept in unsafe & inappropriate conditions. Why places exist as havens for these kind of situations, & whether we're doing enough to protect these creatures & protect the public. After a series of unfortunate events have played out over the years involving animals & people put in harms way, it wasn't surprising to see a film like this come out.
